partnership

Jon has been pining away for a new TV for awhile but I was not such a huge fan of the idea. So I kept putting my foot down trying to convince myself we didn't need a new one. But then his birthday came and we decided that we were going to have to make the switch anyway with all the digital hullabaloo going on. So we bit the bullet and got a new TV.

Jon loves it.

I think it's cool. But what I really love is the entertainment piece we got to go along with it. It looks so sharp in our house and ties all of our furniture together really well.

Thanks for letting me have a present on your birthday too honey! :)

We're off to Vegas this weekend for a rugby tournament. I'm really excited for some warm weather. It's supposed to be 80 degrees - the perfect temp for me and 12 degrees too warm for Jon! He's such an Eskimo. I'm so excited to spend some time with him. And I can't wait to see my familia down there too. It's really hard to not be so close to my siblings during the spring and summer months. I'm thinking of opening a compound up for my family so we can all be close together. I hear a new one just opened up in Texas...

ha ha. kinda funny. not really. sorry to offend. :)

YAY! A new post!

I don't even know where to start with this one. Sit back and enjoy. It'll be a long one! :)

So I totally underestimated how difficult it would be to to juggle a full-time job, master's program, church callings, house work, and time with the hubby. Right now I feel like my nose is barely above water and I'm exhausted from treading water. On the upside, it is so good to be busy and productive and on some sort of a schedule. So let's start the updating with work.

Buckle is fun and kinda crazy. (The third week on the job I had a greasy 50 year old man come in and ask for the shortest pair of shorts we had. I thought they were for a gift...until he told me he wanted to try them on!!! And then he asked me to look at them and tell me if I thought they were too small!!! Of course they're too small, you perv! They're GIRL'S short!!!. YUCK. sicko.) I have some really cute clothes and a little bit of money in my bank account to show for it. I really feel like getting this job was no coincidence as I've had many opportunities for missionary work with a few of the girls I work with. It has also helped me realize how truly blessed I am in life right now. I am so grateful for Jon, for our marriage, and for all he does for me. I am so thankful for the stage we are at in our relationship and for how loving and understanding he is. I seriously am the luckiest girl alive!

School is going well. A little overwhelming now as I'm in the second year. I'll start my internship in November and really look forward to that. I am loving all of the stuff I am learning right now and can't wait to apply it.

I am still the 1st counselor in our YW program and have fun with the girls. Another great opportunity to teach me how truly blessed I am. I have a new appreciation for my parents now and am so grateful for all they did for me.

And man am I looking forward to this summer! We have so much fun stuff planned, I can't wait!!! We'll be heading down south again in a couple of weeks - we'll be in Vegas on the 25th if any of my friends down there would like to join us at a rugby tournament. We'll be in St. George in May for a family get together and also in June with some friends. I'm really trying to talk Jon into moving down there!!! :) In August we get to go on an Alaska cruise with both my family and Jon's family and then in Sept we're heading to Hawaii with our fun friends Jess and Trent. I love traveling! Maybe that's one of the reasons we don't have kids yet. Heavenly Father knows we're not ready to settle down yet.

Speaking of family...we attended an adoption orientation with LDS Family Services last month. We both feel like adoption is definitely right for us, but we both had an overwhelming confirmation that right now just isn't the right time. We have a few things we need to get in order before we'll revisit that idea again. So who knows...maybe the end of this year or maybe not for another 10 years after we have our own kids. I don't know when it will be, but I know we will adopt eventually. The orientation was such a cool experience. It was so spiritual and comforting and answered pretty much every question we had. So I really look forward to the time that we'll be able to adopt, but we've decided it might not be for awhile.

Phew! That's it for now. Happy Birthday to my sweetheart on Saturday! I love you baby!
