CAKE! CAKE!

So because I always think "I can do that or I can do that better" I decided I wanted to make Kimberlen's birthday cake using fondant frosting. It looks so neat the smoothness of the frosting and it couldn't be that hard, could it? Well after hours of surfing the Internet I ran across a recipe for marshmallow fondant that is supposed to be easier to work with than the original. This was it, I was going to do it. I made the fondant, frosting and cake all a few days ahead so all I had to do was put it together the day of the party. It all went pretty good turned out decent and I think I will definitely try this again......here I come Maycee.
Take a look and see what you think Ü

The Slide

So all Kimberlen has been talking about is getting a slide for her birthday (after I put the thought in her head). Then when I found out the price from the seller that we bought the swing set from I decided no way! But, then when Grama Robin went on a mission to find one a little cheaper she got what she has been dying to get. It is not fully attached yet......but they were able to still try it out....that's what we have Grampa's for right!! Ü This is going to be so much fun this summer. She can hardly wait to put her swimming pool at the end of it and slide down into the water. I am not sure how I am going to keep her or Maycee off this. (click on a picture to see it bigger)

Kimberlen's Birthday

What a great girl, she is such a sweet heart and getting so big. I can't believe she is already six and doing so many things. She is reading, writing and doing math, it's incredible. We had such a fun time at her party. She received a on of presents of which were mostly clothes. She loved everything and everyone for coming! Thank you!! Here are some of her Pictures from the Party, ENJOY Ü !!! (drag cursor over photo to pause slideshow)

Riding Bikes

So now that it is starting to get warm we are spending more time outside doing yard work, cleaning up around the house etc, etc. So Kimberlen always wants to ride her bike. We will go on walks and I will push Maycee in the stroller following Kimberlen on her bike. She is having a hard time with the whole balance thing so Eric took off her training wheels. This was quite the site to see. Eric trying to run to keep up with her and not letting her tip over or run into things.

By the time I got the camera all the crashing was done. She ran into the mailbox, the truck and the cement wall. That is when they decided to go in the road. I know, Desiree said she needed to have her helmet on but Eric was not about to stop to let her put it on. I was pretty chilly outside, and by the time they were done they both had frozen fingers and Kimberlen had quite the runny nose. She did do pretty good so hopefully we are on the right track.

Eric thought he should get on the bike for some strange reason. Isn't there a weight limit???? Anyway they had a pretty fun afternoon to say the least. I hope you enjoy the video.

New Seat

Yeah, Maycee finally got a new car seat. She was getting so heavy to carry in her old one and I was getting tired of getting her in and out of it in the car so this is going to be so nice. I have not put it in the car yet, but I plan to do it today.
I think she really likes it. She kept kicking and screaming while I was taking these pictures. You can sure tell that they are in movement with the blurriness.

I got this from a lady on KSL. (gotta love that place) It is in really good shape and looks like new. We will end up putting this one in Eric's truck when we get another one. But of course I can't decide what other one I want. So till then this one is GREAT!

First Steps

So here are the first of what is to become. Maycee has been taking a step here and there but last night she decided that she could do a lot more. I was not looking forward to her walking as I know what that leads to but you can't stop the inevitable and in a month she will be the big #1.

(The quacks in the background is Kimberlen trying to coax her to come to us)

We had so much fun with her. She giggles and laughs so hard it makes us laugh and our belly's hurt. Being able to congratulate her and cheer her on is the best part. We love her so much.

And It All Starts

This beautiful thing is the newest part of our family. (It must be because now days Eric spends just as much time with it as he does the family). Wait let me rephrase that MORE than the family. HA HA Really this is the start and the almost finished race car that Eric will be driving this summer out at Rock Mountain Raceway. I am really nervous and excited for him. This has been his life long dream and thanks to some wonderful people and friends he is able to do it free of charge. (Besides his time of course).
This is just the other side of the car. The CI stands for Custom Industries the company that is footing most of the bill for him. And just to let you know I was totally shocked to hear some of the prices for these things! Ahh!

Maycee actually has enjoyed going out to the shop and "hanging" around with her dad. Kimberlen (and for some reason did not end up in any of the pictures) is actually the one that he takes with him most often. She will go with him sometimes all day and when they get back they are both greasy, dirty and smelly. As long as they have fun I don't mind, spray N wash works pretty well.
Hopefully we will see some of you out there and you are all invited. I might have to post the link to the schedules. The first race is the 26th of April. And yes the car is not even done yet. Crazy boys!! I am sure it is going to be a blast.
