Aubrey graduated from preschool! She was adorable at graduation and did a fantastic job at singing the songs, doing her ballet routine and receiving her diploma. I can't believe she is going to be in kindergarten this fall. She is growing up so fast and I am so proud of her. Thanks Ben for taking great pictures!
Derek and I took a fun trip a little while back. We went to The King & Prince Resort located in St. Simons Island, GA. It was a great little get away. We had a fantastic time and enjoyed the peace and quiet and relaxation. We suggest anyone wanting to get away to a fun little island should check them out!!
On Memorial Day weekend we went camping with some good friends. Derek has always loved going to Terra Haute, IN to camp since he was little kid. We had a blast! We were a little concerned about Aubrey and how she would take to camping but she had a fabulous time. She keeps asking when we are going again. We had fun out on the canoes, going hiking, swimming in the creek and Shane's cooking! We even got out right before the rain started! This thrilled us because rain was in the forcast all weekend.
As for the last 3 weeks...things have drasticaly slowed down around here thanks to me. :-) After going to dinner with some friends, we were walking back to the car and I stepped off the curb and my ankle decided it needed a rest. It gave out and I went down hard. I knew something was wrong as soon as I hit the ground. Derek rushed me to the ER and the whole way I was saying..."I don't have time for this!" Thankfully the hospital is right next to my parent's house so Aubrey was able to have some "spur of the moment grandparent time"! We were excited to find out my foot wasn't broken but I had stretched and tore some ligaments. I guess the Lord has a way of slowing us down sometimes if we refuse to do so for our own good! Derek has been a perfect husband and father through all of this. He completely picked up all the slack and didn't skip a beat. He has never complained about having to take care of my every need AND Aubrey's. He is an amazing man! Aubrey has been an angel. The night we got home from the hospital she brought me her stuffed toy and she checks on me every morning. She cracks me up because she won't let me walk up or down a curb now without holding her hand. :-) I love her to pieces but I don't think she realizes that if I'm going down she will go down with me. It makes me smile to see her tender heart. We are now getting back to a normal life with "the boot". It's much better than the crutches!
All in all life is good in the Bemis household. We are blessed with great friends and fabulous families. What more do you need?
