BDay Trip to Denver, CO
I love to ride the rails! It was something I did frequently, as a child, in Russia. However, living in America, and having access to cars and planes, we don't really have much of a use for trains as a means of necessary human transportation, so this year, I wanted to ride the rails for my birthday. We took a 15 hour ride to Denver, CO, spent the next day in the city, and then flew back home because doing a 15h (slow) train ride home, back to back is a no-no. We boarded the Amtrak train from SLC at 3 am. The train then, made sure to stop at every possible place it could.....and I am not sure if we ever broke 50mph, maybe.....that's about my only complaint about the ride. However, the conductors and the staff on the train were helpful and very accommodating. The bigger of the stops was Grand Junction, CO. The old depot building was pretty cool to look at and there was a cute little shop for some quick bites. While on the train, we enjoyed some snacks an
