Patience Pays Off

Being patient has its rewards, especially when you finally get something you've always wanted. Case in point: The 50/50 Mega Sale recently happened and I picked up a couple pairs of shoes I've wanted for quite some time at a heavily discounted price.

I've always lusted after these Opening Ceremony M6 boots. Every time I'd fly off to Hong Kong, I'd cross my fingers and hope they'd be on sale because the price was way out of my budget. They never were. But during the 50/50 Mega Sale, they were significantly marked down and I didn't even think twice about buying them.

These tasseled A.P.C. moccasins from the S/S 2011 collection were also a steal - 70% off! It was the last pair and they were in my size! If I didn't buy them, I wouldn't be able to forgive myself.

My very good friend Jonathan was recently in town and he gave me this Hong Kong tote bag from Maptote. This was always out of stock at Ka-pok in Hong Kong because I'm guessing it's the perfect souvenir? Well, when he gave it to me, I was delightfully surprised!

Dean & Deluca Tote

From Dean & Deluca

From This Is Naive

From The Sartorialist

There is something about this Dean & Deluca tote bag that's driving me nuts in a good way. I need it. Thing is, I don't think I'm going to New York or Tokyo anytime soon. Where else can I get it? Any ideas?

Weekend retail therapy

I don't think I'll be buying those Band of Outsiders shoes anytime soon. I'm not really feeling very extravagant at the moment. In the meantime, this tote bag from Japanese bookstore Kinokuniya and espadrilles from Muji will do.

Free Tote Bags from Uniqlo and A.P.C.

When the first Uniqlo boutique opened in Singapore last April 2009 at Tampines 1, they were giving away tote bags for every purchase of S$100 and up. Sadly, the tote bags were all gone when I had the chance to shop.

Recently, the Uniqlo boutique at ION Orchard opened and again, they were giving away free tote bags. My brother was fortunate enough to get one and immediately, I took ownership of the tote. Surprisingly, it's very sturdy and well made. It even has a flap pocket inside where you can but your keys or phone for easy access.

Another free tote bag I'm dying to get my hands on is from A.P.C. They're made out of the fabrics used in past collections and A.P.C.'s founder, Jean Touitiou, says, "I hate my old fabrics going to waste...I made them and I’m proud of them." Very well said and done, Mr. Touitou.

Totes

I picked up this tote yesterday from a random Japanese store for only S$2! What made me really like it was the silhouette of the Eames chair and the random Engrish sentence below that says "Don't forget your moments of happiness". Will probably use this to carry paperwork, magazines, and the occasional sandwich to work.

Another tote bag that caught my attention was this A bag from Alphabet Bags. The letters A-Z are available at £10 each and they'll probably make really great Christmas presents.
