Father's Day

We flew Matt in this past weekend for father's day. He is doing a rotation in Colorado. It was so wonderful to have him home.. this whole being in different states thing STINKS. BAD. Like, REALLY BAD. Anyway, Glenn and Shirlene kindly invited us over to celebrate. We had a great time. I am blessed with really wonderful in-laws.. and, of course, a wonderful husband. I could not ask for more in a man, priesthood holder, partner, and father to our children. I hope he had a great day, because he really deserves it. Isaiah's first tractor ride with Papa.

Wasatch Back Ragnar

Well, this past weekend I did another Ragnar.. the wonderful wasatch back. It was soooooooooo FUN. So FUN. I was on a team with my siblings, Adrienne and Jonathan. We were team DNR... and let me tell you, after some of those legs.. we did NOT want to be resuscitated. Anyway, we ran our first two legs the first-ish day... the second being into the early morning hours.. googled an LDS church closest to the next major transition. We slept (amazingly) that night and woke up to do our final legs. I opted not to go to the finishing line with my team because Matt was in town and I wanted to spend as much time as possible with him and my family. So, he came and got me in Heber and we went home. Gosh, I had such a good time. Our team was so awesome and fun. And, can I just say, I have the best siblings. I can't wait to do it again next year.. (I think I also got Matt to do the Las Vegas Ragnar with me in November...ha, ha!)

Provo Canyon

One of our first outings HAD to be Provo Canyon... I have spent Many a day up that canyon running, running a race, hiking, walking the trail, roller blading with Adrienne, swimming, heading up to Sundance to go skiing... you get the idea. Provo canyon is a very happy place for me. I had to introduce Emma and Isaiah to the canyon starting with Bridal Veil falls. We went up there on a warm day and brought our lunch with us. Emma loved it.. she immediately headed to the deepest part (I had to get her to come back). Isaiah had to enjoy the general splendor from his little stroller (for now). Anyway, we had a great time.. we came home wet and tired. Now every time we pass the falls on our way up the canyon Emma yells, "water fall!" Good times. Wet bummy...

Welcome back to UTAH!!

Well, we made it... back to our home state. Gosh, it's so good to be back. I am such a Utah girl.. and I think I always will be. We pulled in early morning on a Saturday after driving ALL night. Those last few miles Matt (driving the truck) and I were struggling to stay awake. We got all settled in the Baxter home fairly quickly thanks to some AMAZING family. (seriously, where would we be without Heather?) Sunday, we spent recovering and Monday we planted our FIRST garden! Papa T came over and helped us.. Emma LOVED it. Anyway here are some pics. I am so excited to eat all the yummy home-grown veggies. We even planted pumpkins for Fall!

San Logos Pool...

I have definitely caught the blogging bug....perhaps,it's our pending move that has me feeling a bit sentimental.. thinking of our truly wonderful experience here in az. But I decided I needed to record one of our favorite family past-times here in Az. AHHHHhhhhh, the POOL. Now, I'll be honest.. I am not a water girl. I'll take a snow sport ANY day over a water sport. I'm not much of a swimmer... and my ears could never tolerate the water. I always have been, however, a sun worshiper. LOVE, LOVE laying out and lounging around a pool on a nice day. Well, here in AZ, the pool in one of the limited activities to do in the heat. So, I really learned to appreciate it. Now, there is an apartment complex pool here that we absolutely LOVE! Lots of our student friends live there so we get to sneak in once in a while. It has a BEACH... yes, folks, a beach.. and lots of shallow water for children to play in. The deeper end is far away for the single peeps who don't love having kids splashing and running around them. Today, after Matt and I spend the morning packing up, Emma was bored so we called up some awesome friends and headed to San Logos! SUCH a fun day.. I can not describe in words how much I LOVE being with my little family. Having Matt around is HEAVEN to me.. it is so rare to have him, that when he is around it feels like Christmas. Anyway, so today was wonderful. Emma has a floaty that she wears at all times while at the pool. She is really learning to swim/navigate the pool. Good times.
Little Z got too cold in the water... he warmed up in the shade..
Look at her!
The beach! sooo great!
Yes, Nay-Nay needed to be a part of the festivities...
