Halloween

Isn't Halloween GREAT?! We had an especially exciting Halloween this year because we went from a family of 3 to a family of 4! Needless to say, Isaiah didn't participate in some of the festivities. . . or most of them, but I think Emma discovered the wonderful holiday that is Halloween. This year, Emma wanted to be a cow or a "moo-moo" as she calls them. Matt was a COW-boy and I was simply a mamma who had just had a baby. Isaiah was a pile of blankets hidden in a car seat.
We started off the season by going to a pumpkin patch with Johnny and Megan and their boys. We rode on trains (at least Luke and Connor did, Emma was too scared), played games, and looked at the farm animals. At the end of our trip Matt and Emma picked out a pumpkin to color (Emma with a knife? no, thank you!) then we attended our ward Trunk-or treat which was a blast. Finally, Halloween day we went to a party at our friends' home and took our kids trick or treating! (the REAL kind, where you have to work for your candy!) Emma LOVED it. She would even give some of the houses a good "mooooooooooooooooooooo!" Here are some pics. We hope all of you had an especially wonderful Halloween.

nope, Emma. . that's not a "moo-moo"

Trick or Treat.. Give me some CANDY!

Coloring. . not carving!

Isaiah Glenn Tefteller

Well, he finally came. Isaiah was born on October 4th at 4:45pm. After a long (very long) labor, some very scary moments with Isaiah's heart rate (his cord was wrapped around his neck), and 6 or 7 pushes our beautiful baby boy came into this world. He is perfect and oh, so sweet. So far, he is a pretty calm baby who loves to eat and be held. Emma for the first few days simply ignored him and was even a little scared of him, but now she is getting curious. She loves to bring him his binky or blanket and when ever he cries Emma yells, "baby! baby! Baby!" for me to make him stop.
Matt is in heaven having his little boy. They (well, lets be honest. . Isaiah slept the whole time) even watched their first football game yesterday. It is amazing how much you can love your children. I could hold Isaiah forever. I still can't believe I'm a Mom of 2 kids. We are so blessed.

UHhhhhhh. . . .YEEEEEAAH!!!!!

Yesterday, around the last few minutes of Sacrament meeting. . Emma started begging to go to Nursery. I packed up her two stuffed animals, and we walked/ran to the nursery room. Once in there, above the screams and cries of two other children, Emma shouted, "HOORAY!!!!" and danced around the room. That was that. . I turned around and joined Matt in Sunday School. After church, I decided to interview her on her experience. Here is what she had to say. . .

Baby Isaiah and Tefteller fam update

Well, 5 weeks left. . but who's counting? :) Our little family continues to prepare for our little bundle of joy to come. I have been trying to explain to Emma that Baby brother Isaiah is in my tummy and will come out soon. . So far, I think she just understands that she doesn't fit in Mommy's lap anymore and whenever she tries to jump up for me to pick her up, her head hits my big belly. I tell you though, she is going to be a great big sister. She loves babies and loves to interact with other children.

Isaiah is getting big. . in fact, true to the Tefteller way. . Isaiah is measuring "big" and ahead of schedule. However, they won't change my due date. . which is fine because I know my dates. He is healthy and beautiful. . we had our 3D ultrasound today. He was sleeping and it took some gentle nudging, but we woke him up and got some shots. I don't think I'll ever get over how amazing it is to see your baby in-utero. He looks EXACTLY like Emma. . What can I say, We make cute kids. :)He is perfect and looks about ready to come.

Emma is growing up fast and getting bigger than ever. She is a constant entertainer and loves to play, play, play. During sacrament she will jump and shout, "hooray!! or Amen!!" After a hymn or musical number. Her latest habit is to take at least 3 stuffed animals with her when ever we go out. Currently, she sleeps with 10 of them. Watching her little personality come out has been super fun. She and Matt love to wrestle around on the floor and chase each other throughout the house. . . they do it every night. I have some good stories to tell her when she gets older. Gosh, I love that little girl.

Matt ended his 2nd year of school and passed his boards with flying colors. He has started his 3rd year and will soon be doing rotations. No more sitting in boring school all day listening to lectures. Now he gets to practice what he has learned. . He is pretty excited and I am too. He has worked super hard and I am so proud of him. I think I have the most amazing husband in the world.

Well, that's us. I guess I'm just hoping that baby Isaiah makes his debut soon. I remember being so nervous when I was pregnant with Emma. . Now, with Isaiah, I am just sooooo excited to have this little boy come into our family. I can't wait to hold him, count his fingers and toes, and watch him be blessed by Matt. Life is good.

Talking, Dancing, and Elmo?. . .

Our little Emma has really grown up and her personality is shining through. Shortly after her first birthday, Emma turned into "little miss independent". . and the strong personality (I knew was there before she was born) came crashing through. Her favorite word was. . "NO".
Matt and I have loved watching her grow. She loves to "talk". . tipping her head to one side and saying a bunch of nonsense words while nodding her head. Perhaps the funniest development has been Emma's obsession with Elmo. We have a few Sesmestreet Dvd's and one day she walked around our house saying, "Elmo.. . Elmo. " I even went to Walmart and bought her an Elmo doll. As you can see, she won't go anywhere or do anything with out Elmo. She even introduces him to people.
Emma also loves to dance. She will shake that little booty as vigorously as she can when she hears music. Even at church, Emma will run to the isle and start to dance when we are singing a hymn. I can't help but laugh and watch her. . Matt, however, snatches her up to the back of the room where she can dance and no one will be distracted. I am signing her up for a tot dance class this summer. . . I am sure she will love it. I'll make sure I get video of it and post it.

A BOY!!

Alright, I am getting a lot of flack from people for not "properly announcing" that Matt and I are expecting our second child. AND. . drum roll please. . . It is a BOY!! Do you hear that? It's Matt in the background cheering and smiling. Yep, we are super happy. I am 6 months along. . and as Matt just said to me, my belly is "blossoming". We are going to name him Isaiah Glenn Tefteller. Glenn after his Grandpa Glenn and Isaiah after the great Messianic prophet, Isaiah. He is a super active little boy (after Emma, would I expect anything different?) In fact the guy doing our ultrasound the other day said, "Man he just keeps moving!" as he chased Isaiah around my belly trying to get measurements.
We are so blessed. I am not a huge fan of being pregnant, however every time baby Isaiah kicks me or moves my heart rejoices. It's amazing how much you can love a baby growing inside of you. He is going to be a special little boy.

Easter Weekend. . .

This weekend we had perfect Easter celebrations. Adrienne came into town to escape the Utah cold (seriously, Utah, send some of that cold air down here!). Matt has been randomly hiding Easter eggs around the apartment and walking around collecting them with Emma. . he wanted her to be ready for the Easter egg hunt.(he's such a great Dad)
We started out by going to the Easter egg hunt at Midwestern on Saturday. There are a lot of students with families, so Midwestern really tries to have activities geared towards children. Needless to say, we were 3 min late and missed the hunt, I guess it lasted all of 1 min. But some kind friends donated a few eggs to Emma and we had our own. We walked around the campus and played on the toys. The Easter bunny was there so we went and got pictures with him. I was worried that Emma would be scared, since she was terrified of Santa (who was Grandpa) however, he must have looked like one of her stuffed animals because she kept crawling over to him saying, "hi, hi, hi" in her little high-pitched voice, waving and even blowing a few kisses. I think she wanted to take him home. Later that night, we drove to Mesa to see the Easter pageant with some friends. .
Today, I got to dress her in her beautiful Easter dress for church. She looked so stinkin cute, I couldn't get over it. When we got home from church, the Easter bunny had dropped by and left Emma a basket. (although, I think next year he should come on Saturday instead of Sunday) Emma got a boat and ball (for the pool) two Sesmestreet Dvd's, a little sheep (we had to get him because she slobbered all over him at the store) and some sidewalk chalk. Ahhhh, I love having kids.
