spring break in snowy utah-what?!

we drove up to Utah for our spring break and hung out with my sister and 2 bros. and families. my younger sister also drove down from Idaho. it was so much fun minus the nasty weather. every time i visit-we end up taking on a crazy project, shop way too much, and end up cramming way too much into the week. but i love it! and utah has some great stores! this week we all sewed high waisted ruffled pencil skirts. they are cute! and thanks to my sis-in-law and like 7 hrs., we finished the project. (really it should have taken 30 min---but our expertise isn't sewing clothing!!) you have to check out the fabric website though: rufflefabric.com. it's already ruffled, no hems, and stretchy. just a seam up the side and sew on a waistband!!! easy, right?! too bad these are the only pics!!

also to come.... my older sister is taking photography classes and she has a really nice camera. she took pics of our families and they are awesome! they'll be posted shortly :)

baseball season

one thing we miss about kansas city is going to the Royals baseball games! We loved them. Vegas has no big sports teams which is a bummer, but the minor league game was pretty fun. cheap tickets, close seats so the kids can actually see what's going on, and snacks. fun night.

cruise!!

oh boy was it fun! we flew to san juan puerto rico. and cruised to st. thomas, tortola, st. lucia, antigua, and barbados. we loved st. lucia! in all-the weather was great, the water was turquoise, and we did some pretty fun things and saw some awesome places!this is the volcano in st. lucia. you can just drive up to it. they say the steam is good because it's relieving the pressure-so hopefully no volcanos soon.

in puerto rico
the "baths" in tortola. there were huge boulders in the water and you could explore in the water through them.
puerto rico-at the forts (used by the spanish to see enemies coming from the sea and protect the land-way back when). this place was neat because in front of the fort was this huge field-and hundreds of people and kids gathered to run around and fly kites. they do it all day long. there were hundreds of kites in the air and it was really neat to see. it reminded me of The Kite Runner.
St. Lucia. by the volcanos there were 2 natural hot springs. this one was all mud. it was HOT water and tons of mud. "they say" the mud was really good for your skin-so everyone rubs it all over faces and bodies. (i just think the locals enjoy making fun of tourists :)
some fun couples we met on the cruise boat...from utah and LA

the pitons in St. lucia. they were formed after the volcano erupted (they aren't the volcanos)

forts in puerto rico

beautiful beach in st. thomas. i know-totally scandalous swimsuit-but i was cruising with my husband!! the water was so turquoise and clear.
more of the mud hot springs
volcano again
ok. so my lips burn easily i guess. they burned the first day...and a couple days later i woke up to this enormous lip. it was huge and only my bottom lip. i told jason to take a picture and he was like "ok, but just make it normal" I WAS. he thought i was pushing it out. i took some motrin and the swelling went down a few hours later. i couldn't even drink without drooling :)
in the "baths" at tortorla
baths again
baths again. i loved exploring in the water under these boulders. you had to climb over some, jump down in the water, go through sand, and wade through parts.
at the top of st. thomas

we rented scooters in st. thomas and had a blast. it's a fun way to explore (you just have to know how to drive them-and in st. thomas they drive on the left side-it was scary)

more of the forts in puerto rico.

we're ready for our next trip! and thanks to grandma and grandpa wood for watching the kids and letting us go!!! we love you.

my baby moves out of her crib

we needed to free up a room for ashlyn-so we moved reese into the bunk bed with ellie. i'm a little sad, though. i loved coming into her room in the morning and seeing her get so excited to be "rescued." she would just sit quietly in there for an hour until someone came in to get her. (which is totally funny b/c anyone that knows reese knows she isn't exactly a "quiet" child) she loved that crib and would bounce all over in it. now, she gets up in the morning like a big girl with ellie. instead of rescuing her in the room i wake up to her heavy steps and squaks around the house. it' s also sweet.

a few recent favorites

these pictures are some of my favorites. they are all totally random-but i don't want to forget them.first time finger painting-and just like ash, reese hates dirty hands.
she loves her banana
cowgirl day at school! here is sheriff ellie
what? so is it bad that i took her shopping all over like this? i really didn't care and thought it was funny! this is her favorite thing to do now
