Sentimental Sundays - Single layer card

Hi everyone

Hope you've all had a good week.  Been away from the crafty room a lot this week - I seem to be struggling with inspiration, despite being surrounded with more crafty goodies than any human being should actually own!  I think its because of a sore back and generally I'm exhausted.  Centre Parcs can't come quick enough (although its not until March!)

Anyway - enough moaning!  It is once again time for Sentimental Sundays weekly challenge and this week its Single layer cards.

I haven't done a single layer for a while and had a go with a couple of stamped cards, but wasn't entirely happy with the results.  I reverted back to a digi with a stamped sentiment and doodles lines around it.

I remembered I had the new Polka doodles digis and decided to use one of these, coloured with trusty promarkers.

I'd like to enter this into

Allsorts - the colour purple
Challenge up your life - single layer
Less is more - wings
Addicted to stamps - make your mark
C.R.A.F.T Challenge - clean and simple

Thanks for dropping by, please leave me a comment - it makes my day to read them! x

See you all soon!

Springtime

Hi everyone

Just a quick stop in to share a recent make for my lovely Mum's birthday.  I made this card for her from my son who calls her Nanny.

The flowers were stamped from a magazine freebie, coloured and layered up. The image was coloured with promarkers and is a Lili of the valley stamp.  I die cut the frame using two different dies and layered coloured paper underneath and acetate for the window.  Inside the card I digitally wrote a sentiment that forms the insert.  All finished with a wink of Stella to make it sparkle.

I'd like to enter this into:
Crafty Catz - for a Special Lady
Cute card Thursday - Floral Delight
Red rubber design - lets hear it for the girls
Inspiration Destination - anything goes
Creative card crew - birthday with a sentiment

Thanks for dropping by, please leave me a comment - it makes my day to read them! x

See you tomorrow with another SS challenge

Sentimental Sundays - Valentines with Kids

Hello everyone

This is the first of two posts today - my DT commitments have clashed...

Another week almost over - I just don't know where time goes.  I had intended a crafty day Friday, but best laid plans and all, i ended up with about 2 hours and then i was lost for inspiration and ended up trawling Pinterest for ideas...

The first one is all about Sentimental Sundays and Valentines with kids and our kind sponsor this week is Paper nest dolls who provided this fabulous image.  This is so versatile and could be used for so many occasions.

I just love this spotty card from Anna Marie designs - I brought a few packs, so I'm sure you'll all be sick of seeing it soon! the white background (you can just see int he first picture) is embossed using the crafters companion hessian effect folder.

She was coloured with promarkers.  The butterflies were from a magazine freebie stamp set, I stamped twice (one on spotty card and once on acetate to build dimension).  The sentiment is a computer generated one with Peggy Font (it has cute hearts on it too!)  finished with a punched edge and ribbon and some tiny heart stamps cut out onto the same embossed pattern

Hope you like her - please hop over to SS and join in our challenge.  If not at least to check out the talented DT team inspiration.

Thanks for dropping by, please leave me a comment - it makes my day to read them! x

Sentimental Sunday - seeing Red

Hi everyone

Happy Sunday!  Its again time for another fabulous challenge at Sentimental Sundays and a fantastic sponsor.  this week its:
AuroraWings Blog Badge Wisteria
Donating a fantastic $15 worth of images!

Our challenge this week is see red - whether it be a little or a lot, of you have red on your card or project, why not pop over and enter for a chance at the fantastic prize

Here's my inspiration:

This is such a fabulous image.  I left the card quite plain, as the image is so gorgeous I didn't want it to become lost.  It was coloured with promarkers and pencils. The border is a tonic die cut edge with the new crafters companion embossing board in the background (leaf - I couldn't resist last weeks' pick of the week on create and craft!)  A printed sentiment and some ribbon was enough.

I'd like to enter this into:
The corrosive challenge - a splash of colour
Card mania - add some red
4 crafty chicks - hand coloured image

Guest DT for Crafting by design

Hi everyone!

I am so excited this week to have been asked to be a guest DT by Crafting by designs. Back in December they chose my card as a spotlight card, and asked if I would join them for Feb!

Over at their page (here)  there is a challenge for anything goes.  Here is my card for this challenge.

She is from Polkadoodles and is from the Octavia range.  I coloured her with my trusty promarkers.  The paper is a digi print from the same range.  finished with a punched strip and ribbon, die cut frame, die cut ivy (Britannia die inked with distress inks) and flowers from my stash.

There's some fab inspiration on the blog as well as prizes and a chance to be in the spotlight next time so please check it out!
