The Craving

Kevan joined this band about a year ago and then had to quit 2 months after he joined because of school. Well, they didn't end up getting another bass player to replace him and one thing led to another and before I knew it he was back in the band. They play 3-4 shows a month, mostly at bars, but are trying to get out of that scene and into other venues like the art festival. Feel free to check them out at www.myspace/cravingtheband.com and we'll post when they have shows.

Jason's 5th Birthday!

Yes, I gave in and went to Chuck E Cheese's for Jason's Birthday. I tried to convince him to do something else, but it was to no avail. It ended up not being as bad as I thought it was going to be (we even went on a Saturday). Jason had his first "friend" birthday party and invited 5 friends to his party. After much consideration at Zurchers, he decided to have a basketball birthday (only because there were better party favors than the originally planned on Batman birthday). So, we loaded up the cars and headed to Chuck E. Cheese's. It was a blast and we didn't lose any kids. Hooray! We still can't believe we have a 5 year old and that he will go to kindergarten this year. We are getting old!

I'm finally a blogger!

After months of Samantha's encouragement I finally decided to try out this blogging. I'm not sure how long this will last (mostly because I don't think I have all that much to say), but we'll see. Here is our background. Kevan and I have been married for 6 1/2 years. We have 2 beautiful children- Jason will turn 5 on Monday February 4, and Andie is almost 16 months.

I am a full-time mom. My interests outside of my children are: reading, knitting and making numerous hair bows for Andie.

Kevan works full time as a physician recruiter at CompHealth and loves his job. He is also going to school at the U and will hopefully be done with his degree in Entrepreneurship in 2 years. Along with school and work, he is also in a band called The Craving. Needless to say, he is very busy and gone most week nights.

Jason is in pre-school this year and loves it! He can count to ten in 4 different languages and surprises us every day with the things he learns both at school and at church. He obviously listens better away from home. He absolutely loves his little sister and can often be caught calling her "little sweetheart" or "sweetie". He loves to lay in her crib with her after she wakes up and play stuffed animals with her. We couldn't ask for a better big brother.

Andie is the polar opposite of Jason in the way she looks. She came out with a ton of pitch black hair (it has since faded a little to dark brown), she has dark skin and dark eyes. We were just glad when she came out with any hair at all because Jason was bald until he was 2! She is the classic toddler- into everything! I basically just let her rip the house apart all day long and then clean it all up when she is in bed. She definately has a mind of her own and is very stubborn. Case in point- here she is, almost 16 months old and still not walking or even wanting to. We try to get her to walk or stand on her own and she just sits down. We just decided she will do it when she is darn good and ready to.

We are in the process of searching for a home to call our own and can't wait until we can move. We will miss our ward and the area we live in but are outgrowing our little apartment. If anyone knows of any great houses for sale, let us know.

That's our family!
