Princess Fionna

From Shrek!
That is a really good picture of how my daughter's personality is.
Give me my lip gloss then burp louder than any man....
She loves t-shirts and toms.
Pony tails and braids.
A good laugh at the expense of, anyone...
We had a girls weekend last weekend.
Dean took the boys camping at Garner and my little woman and I
went to the Farmers Market, shopping, got pedi's and a hair cut,
gave each other facials and made cake balls.
It was sweet and I loved it.

I have to say this face "mud" we bought at the Farmer's Market was so great. When it dried we couldn't move our faces....so this pic is just that. :) I think we look alot alike, minus the nose. She has Dean's for sure.

Did I mention she will be 12 tomorrow!!!!!!!!
Goodness!!!

I am really trying to savor and live in these sweet moments. It's really hard for me but I know it's crucial and important to stop and breathe! With all of the adjustments and changes and moves we have been through I am praying that I never look back and wish I would have spent less time stressing about life and more time reading with my kids or singing Taylor Swift with my Paige.

Cheers to Transitions,

Seasons

"There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven..."
Ecclesiastes 3:1

We have definitely had a "seasonal" last few months around here.
First, we moved to a new town, kids are still adjusting and not to mention I have a 14 year old all the way down to a 5 year old. My brain can barely keep up with the switching back and forth...
We found a house that we are buying so we'll be moving again in a month. I am super excited! I think this is the first house that I have actually picked out.
(I get overwhelmed easily when $ is involved so I typically let Dean choose where we live, I just request 4 bedrooms and good backyard.)

Another "season"

My middles schoolers are trying to find their place here, which if you remember MS, its not easy....
My 8th grader had his first dance, which combines the 2 middle schools here before they enter high school.  He didn't want to go and I was ok with that but as it got closer, he realized it might be fun.
He has never had a girlfriend or anything but decided 2 days before the dance that he wanted to ask his friend Liz that rides the bus! REALLY? 2 Days?
So, she said "sure".
Then the confusion starts, do you need a corsage? Are you meeting her there? Are yall getting dinner? Do you need to pay for hers? Should we pick her up?
Gosh! This is stressful all over again.....
I ran to the florist, Khols, and Target to get all the goodies needed.
Then... it all started coming together...
It was really cute when we met up with the crew.
You know how us girls are...14 of them met at this amazing place called Huisache, and 4 boys....hahaha
I guess only 4 of them had "dates".
Here are a few pics from that night.
He had a blast.

A few things I have been learning about seasons or change...
A. Healthy transitions begin with a healthy understanding of change.
B. Expect change.
C. Embrace change.
D. Always keep learning.
E. Stay rooted in the one thing that NEVER changes... GOD!
