Jamberry Nails are so much fun, and durable. I've had these cute silver white fishnet shields on for about 2 weeks. And I'm an all year flip flop wearin kind of girl.

We ♥ Diet Coke

Look at this A-mazing lamp chandelier Jane made. She is the queen of taking something simple and making it beautiful.

Yep, It's made from pop tops off her diet coke. Isn't she amazing?!

For the base of her lamp she found an old 1980's style gold lamp at a local thrift shop. She spray painted it too look like galvanized metal.

It seriously looks so pretty when it is lit up at night. There are pretty chandelier light sparkles all over the wall.

I thought it would be fun for the girls to write a quick little note to their future husbands. I wonder what I would have said to my future Mr. Right?

Spray Paint T-shirts

We made spray-painted T-shirts this week for our YW activity. They turned out so cute and the girls had a lot of fun!

We bought cheap Hanes v-neck T-shirts from Walmart. It was cheaper if you bought them in a pack of 5.

3- let dry (about 10 minutes)

4-Remove tape, stickers, rubberbands etc...

5- The shirts are a little crunchy when you are done. Throw them in the washer and dryer before wearing!

3 little birds

A cute little spring dish towel using your scraps of cute fabric.

1-cut any shape out of scraps of fabric (we chose birds)

2- Use Iron-on pellon to applique the birds to the dishtowel

3-Hand stitch (we used embroidery thread) around applique. you could definately machine stitch too.

4-Embellish!!

What a cute little spring addition to your kitchen, or quick gift for a friend or neighbor.

This is one of my favorite cake recipes. I got it from my friend Christy and I love it!!

1 box lemon cake mix
3/4 cup oil
3/4 cup water
3 eggs
2 T lemon juice
1 small package instant lemon pudding mix

Bake at 350 in bundt pan for 45 minutes

Poke small holes in cake and pour glaze on top

Glaze
2 cup powdered sugar
juice from 2 lemons

{spring} week

this week I thought I'd share an Easter/spring craft, treat etc... Today it was a little rainy and grey so I thought I'd brighten things up a little with some fresh flowers.

Jane has a friend Lisa who is the Queen of vintage crafts. She had given Jane some amazing tulips in a vintage inspired vase a few weeks ago and I knew I needed to make one for myself! Thanks Lisa for the beautiful idea! (The spring subway art printable behind my tulips can be found HERE)
Last fall Lisa also taught Jane to make these adorable vintage inspired baskets. What an Amazing lady huh? I made one for Christmas and knew I definitely NEEDED a cute lil' Easter Basket! Every year Jane & I plant our own Easter Grass (wheat grass) to use for decorations around the house. It is easy-to-do and CHEAP! It takes about 2-3 weeks to grow. I didn't take pictures of the process but found a great tutorial over at yourhomebased mom HERE (If you are in a time crunch and need Easter grass, most health food stores (good earth) sell wheat grass by the flat)

cut chicken wire to desired height and length with wire cutters. . Bring the two ends together and bend wire over to connect ends.

Ms. N is one of my beautiful laurels. She is graduating next month and wanted a few senior pictures. She is kind of book worm so we decided to take some quick pictures at the Library. I love how they turned out. It was kind of rainy the day we were taking pictures so I was trying to think of pretty indoor places we could go. I called a local garden nursery and asked if we could take some there. They were so nice and said of course, as long as we didn't bother any customers. The evening was a fun little adventure!!

Temple Recommend holders

I thought these would be perfect little holders for their temple recommends.

I bought these badge holders at Walmart, they were like $3 for a pack of 10 (in the office supplies section)
I used some of my scraps from scrapbooking. I like to use the girls favorite colors when I can, just to make things a little more personal for them. I added an initial sticker and used my label maker to type out their names.

{Ruffle} accessories

Flower Headband

Cute little wristlet.

Step. 1 Cut fabric. I used one ruffle off Ruffle Fabric and some matching organza. Both cut 2'' wide by length of fabric. For the little wristlet I cut the ruffle in 1/2 so it was 1'' step 2. Gather stitch the 2 fabrics together. I sewed the ruffle on top and had the organza stick out about 1/4''. U step 3. Gather step 4. Start rolling fabric in a circle step 5. glue gun a piece of felt to the back of your rolled flower step 6. burn little whispies on organza with a match. This will help keep it from fraying. For the headband we made 2 and glue gunned them to a plastic headband. We put them pretty close together so it would squish the flowers together. For the wristlet we glue gunned onto 2'' wide elastic. For the flower on THIS DRESS we sewed a broach pin on the back so we can remove the flower to wash the dress.

15-minute skirt

This skirt took about 15-minutes from start to finish and probably end up costing $5 or less. I had leftover fabric from THIS dress

I found this adorable online fabric store.

RUFFLE FABRIC

Their customer service was amazing, and oh so friendly. I couldn't decide on a color and the nice woman told me the ice blue was so pretty in person. I took her word for it and

I LOVE it!

I bought 1 yard to test it out. It is $17.99 a yard. I was able to get a dress, a cute skirt (see my tutorial HERE). hair bow & Wristlet (see my tutorial HERE), belt, and another dress or skirt (i can't decide).

Jane whipped up this beautiful dress. I figured it probably cost a total of $6.00 to make.

(I had seen these dresses at JCREW. They are $69.50.)

And my cute little model. It was suppose to be her Easter dress but I don't think I can wait that long. She loves it and thinks she's Cinderella when she wears it.

Symphony & Softball

Brenna is another one of my cute Laurels. We braved the chilly weather one afternoon to take a few Sr. Pictures. The weather ended up being great. I am so sad to see her and the other seniors graduate. They have been so much fun, and I will miss them when they all head off to college.
