Scrap the Girls - September challenge

It's a first time for me..
First time participating in the
Scrap The Girls
challenge for September

They have a great sketch

..which I rotated 90' to the right so I can have the bulk along the bottom
I have stretched the title up also
Initially I thought of doilies or big flowers but went with elements and floral clusters.

Remember Your Dreams

I had the black background in my pile of 'backgrounds waiting patiently' pile from when I was mucking around with 2 step Resin and had a little left over so, swirled it over a piece of cardstock... as you do? I thought I might be able to snap and crack it but it dried quite flexible!

The printed vellum is from an OLD packet of Close to My Heart papers (Not sure of the name of the collection, but I WON it in a challenge - hooray!!)
I then adhered the lace paper across - just like the sketch - traced a paper plate (I was at a Retreat and didn't bring my circle cutter, of  course?) misted the OLD Pink Paislee resist card - added a lovely piece of pleated ribbon/lace from The Vintage Chicks Club.
The 'Remember' part of the title and a couple of the flowers are old Heidi Swapp resit ephemera, which I spritzed with Kaisercraft mist in Candy.
'Your' is Thickers and the 'Dreams' is part of a Dusty Attic set, simply inked black.
Add some Manor House Creations flowers, a couple of Imaginarium Designs Chipboard 'leaves' and Basic Grey (yes, super old!) coloured metal which I sniped in half and adhered under the photo.
My favourite embellishment is Shaneen's cut and pieced 'Elegant lady' - those electronic machines are not my thing, I'm old school so anytime I see that someone else has made it work, I'm happy to pay them!! lol She came in various colours and has a sweet porcelain flower on her hat!!

Photo is sweet baby Phoenix.

Scrapping Outback - September

Hello!!
I recently went away to Shaneen's famous retreat with a bunch of ladies - they laugh at almost everything!! I created a bunch of layouts for September challenges -
Just added the photo for this one!!

The mood board the Mood Board is fresh colours this month!

Create a layout inspired by ALL the colours in this photo and youMUST USE AT LEAST ONE PIECE OF CHIPBOARD (as Scrapping Outback is known for ALL its Chippie)

Fresh colours for a fresh photo of
Phoenix

I started by arranging the corner chipbooards from Memory Maze to create a 'frame' on the OLD Close to my Heart papers (Cannot remember the name of the collection, sorry?) - I dabbed some Prima Crackle paste over the swirls, waited for it to dry (Slow) and then added some spots of Kaisercraft sprays in the yellow, Apricot and Orange - should have added a close up as it does look very pretty!
I then mixed some of the 'yellow' Anna Grifin Pigment powder with some of the AG Texture Paste in Matte and then swiped it through one of the AG stencils - the finish is the lovely vertical golden shimmery strip in the background.
Couple of strips of paper lace
An old Prima bud branch
A Manor House Creations flower
Some of Shaneen's famous pieced pretties (not what she calls them but she is probably not reading this! haha)
An offcut from a yellow doiley I used on another layout - waste not?
A My2angels Scallop Felt frame in white - crisp!
Assorted flowers to fill the gaps from various brands!

This is Phoenix's official Daycare photo - she is cute!
Oh,  Shaneen is such a lovely and hilariously funny lady, if you asked nice she could do some pretties for you too!!

More than words - September challenge

Couture Creations is sponsoring a prize this month so I had a go...

The mood board is an absolute
DELIGHT

and a RECIPE too
What fun!!

Delighted

I've created with the new Season's Greetings patterned paper as a base with a base of kraft - sprayed with green spray over the Anna Griffin stencil... so the overspray created a border - the green resin are all from The Resin Rainbow - the Poinsettia also from Ultimate Crafts - the chipboard is from Imaginarium Designs, it was a a border strip, cut in half to frame the photo -
I've chosen the ART RECIPE
Tag or Die cut - both!! The tag is on the left side of the photo with a half resin doiley and green clip - the die cut is the swirly piece under the photo.
Flair of badge - under the photo, above the die cut.
Flower or button - the pretty pale green poinsettia
A pinch of Beads or a dash of mist - the green mist over the stencil

Another photo for Phoenix,

Dusty Attic - September challenge

Hello September...
the slippery slope to Christmas

The September Mood Board has such grungy and masculine colours

and yet, they are also delicate and feminine
I couldn't choose!!
So I found this lovely photo and set about giving it a base of grunge
and added some flowers for the girls!!

Dare to Begin..

I've altered the Barbed Wire & Cog Frame with crackle paint and inks -
Fashioned a little DreamCatcher on the left from the 'Barbs' included in the chipboard set -
Added a little lace to soften all the 'boy stuff' but kept to black, white, grey and a little 'bluey lavendar' with the black & white photo!
The flowers are kept white and are Dusty Attic too!
Some Thickers for a title and done!!

Yes, another photo of the super sweet Phoenix with her Mum and Dad at her Christening,

Kraft Plus - Guest for October

Imagine my surprise when I saw a message from the lovely Sandra Wallace,
asking if I'd be interested in being a Guest for

Kraft Plus

in October...
Me? Yes! Really? Yes!
Okay, I'll have a go...

My name is Alison and I love crafting!!

I also love my husband of almost 25 years and our 3 children (23.18 &16) who challenge me daily!
I've been creating 'things' from a young child and always like to gift something which I have made especially for that person, even if it is only the card! I created a scrapbook for my Brother-in-law's 21st over 15 years ago but it wasn't till we moved back to Brisbane about 10 years ago and I would go to card classes with Aunty Sandra that I really loved paper!
I've taught at the Kaisercraft outlet at Browns Plains and was part of the DT for almost 3 years. I am now part of the Couture Creations DT. I create kits for sale, organise scrapbook events  - including Workshop Wonders, Bus tours, and have Cruise 2 and 3 in 2017 - so much fun!!

I always enjoy participating in a challenge!!

Kraft Plus is one of my favourites, even if I run out of month to participate, I enjoy looking at the entries... some people are seriously clever!!

...and so this is the Mood board for October

I'm not sure whether I should be proud that I still have some of these items in my stash or perhaps, embarrassed that I do!!
I found this cute photo of our niece and nephew
added some paper from the 'Be Merry' collection by Ultimate Crafts
...and some bits & some more bits
and this is what happened

'Super Heros'

I started by trimming the Kraft to 11", sprayed a little Spray Gesso in the middle (it kind of makes a nice glow?) I've then traced a small paper plate and using a metal ruler cut random lines through the centre to create a BLAST (like in the Mood Board) The patterned paper is covered with yellow and grey stars at 12" and the kraft adhered in the centre.
The Mood Board has Red, Yellow and Blue so I chose embellishments in those colours.
Ric rac? Yes, red and blue... and it is even velvet ric rac!
Eyelets? Yes, there is yellow and gold 'holding' down the blast pieces!
The metallic blue star under the Y is a brad!

Buttons? Yes, a giant one, and apple one and a couple with twine to tie!
Vellum? Yes, in the silver frame - love vellum!
Dymo? Yes, mini title and sub title  - I have a couple of different fonts!

The yellow star comes from the Ultimate Crafts 'Be Merry & Bright' Ephemera set!
I added a little stamping around the edge with a Dina Wakley set!
There is a little Imaginarium Designs chipboard, just sprayed with the Gesso!
The remainder of a packet of Cocoa Vanilla 'stars' - cute!
My2angels 'date' pin (which is made with a 'punch'), red felt star and the white scroll star too!
I could tell you that the Kraft is 'old paper' but only really a couple of months 'old'?

...which means I managed to squeeze in ALL of the items from the Mood board - hooray!!

Thank you so much Sandra for inviting me - I had so much fun creating this page for our Niece and Nephews album!!

Get YOUR entry in before the end of October!!

Background Gallery 10 quick cards

Hello, it's me...Alison
I looked at all of those beautiful
Background Gallery dies
and couldn't pick just one
so, my lovely friend, who had one of everything,
kindly cut one of each for me, just in white cardstock so I could make some cards!
Sometimes we just need a quick card, or a bunch of quick Christmas cards?

Then I thought... I could stamp a couple of backgrounds, have a couple of Glitter Papers for backgrounds and each card should have a die from the Collection and a simple sentiment!!

I started by squeezing a little of the Liquid Drops 3d Pearls onto my Craft Sheet,
pressed the 'Starry' half of the 'Starry Mosaic' from the Background Textures 2 Stamp set,
and then stamped onto the front of my square card - easy!

By lifting the stamp quickly you also get a little 3d texture which is a bonus!

It doesn't have to be PERFECT
and each time you stamp it is a little different?
There is a lovely sheen from the Liquid Drops - very pretty!!

The matching die 'Starry Eyed' was diecut in white then inked black -
how good is it that the stamp and die match!!

Then I thought I was being a little nifty,
by adding a few colours onto the Craft Sheet

and stamping the 'Mosaic' half of the Starry Mosaic Stamp set

I have plans to stamp with the Liquid Drops in my Art journal too!!
The 'Mosaic' matching die was also cut in white cardstock and inked black
and a simple sentiment foam mounted.

Did you know Couture Creations Glitter Paper comes in a pack of 10 assorted colours?

Just by punching the corners of your cards and layers it adds a softness -
The 'Wire and Oil' Stamp set compliments the 'Oil Paint' die perfectly!!

The Silver is quite elegant and would make a lovely Wedding card.
There is also a matching stamp set - Jewelled Lattice!!

It is very important to adhere all parts of the die cut onto the card front.

The gold is quite festive, don't you think?

Perhaps you prefer traditional red?

Maybe you have a friend who likes pinks and purples... even at Christmas!!

The 'Floral Lattice' die also has a matching stamp set - Jewelled Lattice,
isn't it so pretty!!

Hooray!! I have 10 Christmas cards ready to send on the 1st of December!!

White with 1 - Yellow Up - September

Hello SPRING...
Hello SEPTEMBER...
Hello...

I've been away on the 4th My2angels Retreat on the Gold Coast this weekend
Met some lovely ladies
caught up with friends
and laughed
and laughed
and laughed some more!!

I did manage to complete the

WHITE WITH 1

September challenge

Yellow Up

I started with a sheet of Ultimate Crafts 'Snow White', and used a couple of paper plates as templates to draw the circles - which I then followed by adhering a bunch of The Resin Rainbows 'monthly colour kit' in Yellow Up.
How good are those 'Sprinkles' from Janet - they would be perfect for a shaker card, which are all the rage right now!!

I picked up some of the My2angels items from the bargain bin too - the yellow tassell, the gold diamonte chain, buttons etc - I even picked up a DIY kit with the key, chain and mini rose... it also has a mini word LOVE which can be my title.

Added a layer of Lattice chipboard under the photo and a crochet doiley from the Op shop!!

LOVE...

Yes Nana is 96 and our son Tim is on his knees!! She just keeps shrinking!!
