I'm a Big Boy Now!!!

I know I've mentioned that Logan is walking, but he's really at it now! He carries his footballs and little balls everywhere and deposits them in every nook and cranny. He's so much fun, and loves to walk to you. He gets into a run when he gets almost there out of excitement. My sweet Mom bought him the cutest little croc look a likes, and he wears them everywhere. Yesterday I took him to the yard and he was just walking all around picking grass and carrying his ball.

Anyways I feel like all I do is blog about Logan, so here is a quick update on us. We STILL live with my parents, but are making plans to move out soon. Dustin is working with a local dentist, and hoping that he can help him get into dental school. Right now we are in the tedious "sweating it out" part of the year where the letters are coming and its just a prayer that we'll open one for an interview and not a denial. I quit my job again because our Internet is a turtle compared to the one we had in Utah, so I wasn't able to keep up with my production. I miss not working for a paycheck, but I also enjoy the freedom. Other than that everything is about the same!

Working Hard or Hardly Working!!

My parents have a beautiful yard, and a very big one. We spend all day Saturday mowing and weeding, but it was a beautiful day so we enjoyed just being outside. Logan's Papaw took him for a ride on the lawn mower. He LOVED it. When I reached to get him off he pulled away, so he rode for about 20 minutes while they cut the grass.

Glamor Girl Rebecca

Rebecca helped me take pictures of Logan yesterday so I casually asked if she wanted me to take pictures of her and it's like someone offered her a shopping spree at Toys-R-Us. She was so excited. She's 8, so she's starting to get involved in looks, hair, clothes, all that stuff that plagues you for the rest of your life....LOL Anyways I just thought I'd post a few of the pictures of my beautiful niece. She is great helping around the house, and baby sitting Logan while I help her mom with stuff.

Mr. Independent

Logan is in a "do it myself" stage where he has to do everything. Although it's quite cute to watch him grow and learn, sometimes it's annoying too. We couldn't get him to eat veggies, which he usually loves, because he didn't want us to spoon feed him. We resolved that issue by letting him have a spoon and dip it himself while we hurried to get the jar in his mouth. He also wants to hold his bottle, and I love this because we cuddle on the couch, watch Baby Einstein, and he drinks his bottle before nap. It's our new routine that I adore so I can get some cuddle time through out the day.
As you can see he's teething. He's getting all his molars at the same time, so EVERYTHING is a chew toy.The other day he leaned down on my leg and I thought he was being sweet, next thing I knew he bit me. He loves these balls that Grandma McCammon gave him, and he plays with them all day. He loves to throw them down the stairs and see where they go, and sometimes go tumbling after them! He's not learned the stairs yet, but I figure that he will soon.
Yesterday we enjoyed popcorn together. He loves to share everything with Mom. Of course I have to break the popcorn in little pieces to prevent choking, so it's a fight to keep his little hand out of the bowl. While we were posing for pictures as soon as I looked up his little hand went in. It took a lot of practice shots to get this picture.
I added this picture because all morning he kept playing peek-a-boo with me from behind the bar. He loves to play chase and crawl as fast has he can away from me. Lately I've been chasing him away from the On/Off switch on the TV, and although he thinks it's a game, Dustin and I nearly pull our hair out trying to watch a TV show. The funny thing is when he crawls away he can't stand the anticipation of being caught, so he stops and sits on his bum and turns to see where you are about every 3 or 4 seconds.
Ok so my mom has this little wooden patriotic bunny that holds a star in its hands and I can't keep Logan away from it! It's in the window seal in the patio room and he gets it every time the door opens. As you can see the window seals are low(Logan is holding on to it). Anyways I had fun yesterday taking pictures of him playing with that star. I bet he stood there for 30 minutes looking out the window and talking while playing with that star.

Logan is taking his first few steps. He loves to practice walking to me while falling into my arms laughing. We love spending our days laughing with each other. I never knew how much joy a baby could bring me, it's like sugar you just crave it all the time. (well at least I do)

Update....Beware it's long!!

I'd be lying if I said our lives were anything but uninteresting. We enjoy it though! I just thought I'd share a few things that have been happening.

We were excited this weekend to be visited by the Farmers (Ian, Julia, and Gracie) who came all the way from Houston. Although it was a short trip we crammed in a lot. The boys went fishing, golfing, and we all went swimming. When the kids were asleep we crammed in a few rounds of pool. We had a great weekend with them, so thanks guys for making the long trip.

Logan has been doing a lot of fun things lately. He loves to walk and hold on to your fingers, but it's more of a run than a walk! He is also doing the toddling thing where he follows everything and anything he can hold on to until he can't go anymore and finishes the rest of the journey crawling. His main mode of transportation is crawling, sometimes on all 4's and sometimes on his knees. He loves to be chased by or race with his cousins and is always wanting in on the action. Rebecca is great to tote him around like a little doll even though he's very heavy and it takes everything out of her. He weighs 23 pounds.
He has a little wagon with animals(that was mine when I was little)that he loves to push around and be pulled around in. Check out the picture below. He pretty much spends most of his play time pushing his wagon and cars or throwing balls. He does love reading stories with Mom too. He is a total boy though. It's crazy how he was born with boy instincts. We gave him a car for his 1st birthday and he took it to the living room (he crawls with 3 limbs and carries toys with the other one now) and made zoom zoom sounds as he pushed it around the room. He also takes his little bouncy balls to the hard floor and bounces them for 20-30 minutes at a time. He's great at independent play, but he always has been.
So to sum things up- Logan's great, life's great, so for that reason we are just a happy family!
