Double Sliding Card

Saturday, June 27, 2015
Happy TFIG everyone! This is Alexia with you today and I want to show you how to make a double sliding card. This is actually my second try making this card and it was fun, I hope you will like this too.

You will need the followings to create this card:

a. One 4 1/2" x 11" Strip of Card Stock
b. Two 4 1/4" x 3 1/4" of Card Stock
c. One 4 1/4" x 10" Strip of Plastic Wrap
d. Double-Sided Tape

Step 1: Score the card stock in item a. above at 3 1/2", 7" and 10 1/2"

Step 2: Fold the scored card stock in Step 1 along the scored lines and wrap the plastic wrap around the first 3 1/2" (from the left) of the card stock as shown above. Loosely wrap as long as it can move left and right freely without having to apply too much force, secure both ends with double sided tape. Refer below for better picture.

Step 3: Adhere the orange card stock pieces accordingly on the plastic wrap using double-sided tape, try sliding by pulling the orange card stock. If both cards slide out when you pull on one end, you are doing it right. Close and adhere the opening of the card (tuck the smallest flap under the plastic wrap).

Step 4: Embellishing the card (this step can be done before or after you assemble the sliding card.

This is the inside of the card, I used Neenah Linen card stock as the card base

Here is the card as I'm pulling it out slowly

I hope you enjoy making this card! Have a wonderful weekend and happy creating! :) - Alexia

Little Lady Layout

Friday, June 26, 2015
Hello all crafty friends, here I am again to share with you a project created for Bella Blvd and Craftwell blog hop this week! I'm glad you are here to participate this blog hop, make sure to leave comment along the way for a chance to win some crafty goodies from both companies! If you have Instagram, make sure to hop over there and enter to win!

Here is my layout I created for this blog hop. I love the products from Bella Blvd, they always have this bright-color selection of products.

For the background, I cut scallop pattern on a 12x12 patterned paper and run it through Cut 'N' Boss using Teresa Collins' Snapshot A4 Embossing Folder.

Adhere the embossed paper to a 12x12 red polka dots acetate from Bella Blvd uisng double-sided tape.

And cut out this frame for the picture on the layout with Cut 'N' Boss, I also cut out some embellishments using Teresa Collins' metal dies.

Look at those details, the embellishments from Bella Blvd are so great for this layout. It makes me want to go shop for more Bella Blvd products right now! Due to the camera lighting it's hard to see the embossing pattern but you can definitely see  and feel it better in person.

I hope you enjoy this project! And don't forget to check out the Instagram and comment on all the participating designers' project for this blog hop to win yourself some crafty treat! Wish you have the most wonderful day! - Alexia

Summer Fan!

Saturday, June 13, 2015
Summer is almost here! Today I want to share this summer craft idea with you so you can fan away the summer heat! This is a very fun and easy project to make, you can even create this with your toddlers at home. My boy and girl both liked this fan and my son even think it's so cool that he asked me to make one for my husband too!

The pop tone card stocks are absolutely suitable for making these Rosetta fans, perfect thickness and the color is irresistible. Don't you just love those lime green and lemon yellow? Oh, and the name for the color is so cute too, Berrylicious for the blue card stock. Yum!

How are the few easy steps to make this:

Step 1: Prepare three 8x10 card stocks from CutCardStock (this makes one fan), I used pop tone card stocks (Limeanade, Lemon Drop, and Berrylicious).

Step 2: Use a border punch of your choice, punch around the longer side of your card stocks

Step 3: Align punched card stocks horizontally on the score board and score card stock at 1" interval.

Step 4: Fold scored card stock in half, you should now have three folded card stocks as shown below.

Step 5: Adhere all three card stocks from Step 4 above together (edge to edge), leave an opening for the fan holder.

Step 6: Adhere the holder (if you don't have any craft stick available, you can  replace it with chopsticks - lucky I didn't just throw them away everytime we got an extra pair from take out! LOL). Make sure you don't separate the chopsticks. Use double-sided tape to do this, it works great. If necessary, apply some glue gun - this will make the fan really sturdy.

Here is the end result...so "cool"..... :)

Exploding Birthday Card

Friday, June 5, 2015
Hi all Crafty friends! I'm here to share the second project I created using Craftwell Cut 'n' Boss and Die-namites dies. This time I decided to make this exploding card to share with you, it's actually my first attempt and I find it pretty fun to create.

This is probably not something new you've ever seen but I find this quite impressive, I didn't know I could actually make an exploding card in this form so I was pretty excited. hehe.

And to those of you who's just like me, a little amazed by this project? Don't worry, I will share with you some tips I learned to make this. I think it would be a great idea for Father's Day card!

This exploding card consists of three layers, so you will need three 12x12 patterned/solid card stock and another one for the cover.

Step 1: To create the first and second layer, refer to the picture below and score your card stocks accordingly.

Step 2: Cut a heart shape on all corners on the first layer of card. For the second layer we are going to create little pockets for the inside of the card (I will show you this part in Step 7).

Step 3: By following Step 1, create third layer (the most inner layer) for the exploding card by scoring your card stock at 3 1/2", 6 7/8" and 10 3/8". Then create similar pockets by referring picture labeled "B" in Step 2. By now you show have something that looks like this:

Step 4: Trim four pieces of 4x4 square patterned card stocks to embellish the outer box (on the first layer of card).

Step 5: To make the cover, take another card stock and score at 1 1/2", 5 1/2" and 7" both horizontally and vertically. Cut (as shown in blue lines below) and glue flaps together to form a box.

Step 6: Start embellish the card, start from the exterior of the card/box using Die-Namites five petals flower die.

here is the finished look on the cover

Step 7: Let's move on to decorate the interior of the card/box. Here is my finished project, when you lift the cover the card/box will kinda "exploded" and reveal everything inside. LOL.

Here are some more details to show you what's in the pockets we created earlier

A sliding card in one of the pockets

Another one, to mark the birth-date

More Die-Namites die cuts in here, the five petals and floral vase dies

Couple of note cards to record the story on the special day

You can even include a gift card! How convenient?! :)

How do you like it? Leave me a comment, I would love to hear from you! :) I hope you enjoy making this exploding card too. Until then, Happy Father's Day to you! Happy creating!
