Zoey's New Glasses...

Zoey recently told me that she was having trouble seeing the board at school. A few thoughts crossed my mind. First, I was hoping that I didn't curse her with my bad genes for horrible eye sight. Then I thought to ask her what the teacher does when she tells her she can't see. Z said that the teacher moves her to the front of the classroom. Being the clever mom that I am, I remember that her favorite boy sits in the front row. Hmmmm.... so convenient that it was hard to over look. But, I thought I'd take her for an exam anyway just in case.
It turns out that sitting next to the cute boy was just a bonus and she really did need glasses.
She picked these out mostly herself. They have pink metal and a diamond encrusted flower on the sides. The lady even let her pick a pink case to keep them in.
She only need to wear them for long distances but if you recall the summer of 2008, I'm sure she will be wearing them more often than that. Z loves glasses.
This is just an extra bonus for Coco. Z really misses you and doesn't forget why you moved away from her. This worksheet is about all the changes that happen when people get a new job. She wrote, "because they might have to move to a different state or continent like my Uncle Coco did." Z misses you Coco.

OREO

This is little Cooper. He is one of my favorite little people. He has a smile that just beams. He melts my heart with his sweet pie happy attitude. I scored some major snuggles with this fella over the weekend. I'm so lucky!

He sucks his thumb which is too cute.

I have a major weakness for this little man. I heard he had never tasted the goodness of an oreo so I had to give him his first taste of heaven.

He got into it right away.
There's a guilty face if I've ever seen one.Who me? Who doesn't love a good oreo? He's trying to grab for another one...
This is when it was all gone. He was hoping for some more.Don't worry, I hooked him up with a few more. Just look at that face-- pure sunshine. I love you Coop Coop! Come back to Aunt Leca's soon!

Visitors...

We've had some visitors this last week. Cassie and Cheri and their little men came from Utah for a long awaited sister weekend. It was great. We had 11 (and 1/2) kids, 6 adults, and 2 dogs for a crazy party weekend.

Cam took a strong liking to all things with motors.
He even tried his luck as a taxi driver.
Rex was always willing to take a ride with anyone.
We made use of a rainy afternoon and opened the Jodi and Leca Salon! We ended up churning out about 8 hair cuts, 3 manicures and 3 pedicures.
Cam and his side kick Chloe. (that kid just loved to drive)
Cassie and Em
Caleb and Zoey on one of the many trips the ATVs took around the track.
Even Coop got in on some action (usually against his own choosing).
We had a great time and look forward to another visit when there is one more kid to add to the pile.

Here are a few clips from our boys and their start of a very promising sports career.

The end on this one is priceless.

Yes, it's true, Em has a buckle fracture on his wrist. The first night of our new ATVs, the kids crashed. Everyone is fine except for Em's arm. We have since gone over and over the safety procedures and we are back on track for a summer of fun. His idea to make good use of his time with the cast is genius. I just love that kid.

Happy Birthday Rugby!

Yesterday Rugby turned 6! He was so excited to have a party and open presents.

He got this cool crown to wear all day at school. He picked an ice cream cake (the candle looks right from his angle).
He scored some Legos from Aunt Jo.
All hands were ready and willing to help him open anything.
The squirrely boys. They just love playing together. After all the partying they went downstairs and played football with coach Caleb. I think someday they will make a pretty good team.

Happy Birthday Rugs!

Zoey's Birthday Party...

Tim's parents and his brother's family came to visit for the weekend. The kids were so excited to have them come.
This is baby Logan. He is such a cute little guy. He was so quiet and good. The girlies were loving having a baby around to entertain.
Warning: You are currently getting laser beamed from Super Em! Emerson has perfected his "laser eyes." Beware. It makes me giggle.
Benny blew the socks off of Margene in the big go-kart.
OK, he is so cute!
Z blew out the candles and I bet she wished for something pink.
She got "Pinkalicous" from Grandma. The theme of her party was pink, pink and extra pink on top. She loves anything pink and sparkly!
We were sure to wrap everything in pink too. She was in heaven. It was a fabulous weekend. Happy Birthday Z!

Turtle Power...

On Friday night the kids were playing outside and they came in yelling about a turtle by the play house. I thought they were whining about a little snapper so I went to check it out and found this.
This thing was a monster.
Check out the tail on this thing. I've never seen a turtle with a long spikey tail like this. It was amazing.
Of course Tim had to pick it up. He was trying to save it from the kids and take it back to the pond.

Zoey's Baptism...

Today Zoey got baptised. My baby turned 8 yesterday!! It was exciting and scary all at the same time. I can't believe that she is so old. Z and Daddy before the big dunk!
There's some good Taylor spirit! My little family.
OK, that's closer to the real deal.

Little Miss came looking so cute.

Our new toys...

This week we went and got some new toys. The kids were thrilled! (OK, so were we)
This is Breckyn in her new helmet.
We got a 90 cc. and a 50 cc. The pink one is the bigger one for the older kids.
This is the smaller one. Em is really into it.
This guy is pretty into it too.

The helmet looks a little top heavy from the side but hey, it works.
Tim took Rugs with him to pick up the four wheelers. He wore the helmet all the way home and it took some serious coaxing to get him to take it off.

Golfing-- Taylor style...

We also took the kids to a golf range over break. They had a lot of fun learning to hit the ball. This was their first time so it was a little sketchy. But I'm sure we'll be back again soon. We may even venture into mini-golf this summer.

Easter Eggs!

We dyed Easter eggs with the Barlows today.

Rugby had dye up half of his hand. He's going to look pretty weird at school tomorrow.
Maddie trying to do her annual "ugliest" egg.
The whole gang getting down to business.Breckyn showing off her latest egg. I found dye sticks that the kids used to color stuff on the eggs. It was pretty sweet.
They had so much fun. But now to the stinky part. I've got to smell Tim as he slowly finishes off the eggs all week long. Eeeewww! Coco, let me know if you need some mailed your way.
