Lion Boy and Fox Girl

Breckyn has had a little too much time on her hands and has started doing animal faces for the kids to dress up with. She is a fox and Em is a lion. She has also featured a mouse, a bunny, and a bear. They have been playing the "animal game"-- which I have yet to figure out-- but they aren't fighting, so I'm cool with it. (this outfit is so simple-- all you need is some tape and a good sized forehead-- she is taking orders for this new spring collection now)
Emerson with some minor technical difficulties...
fox girl... (yes, she had some chocolate just before this shot)
Zoey-- boycotting the animal game for now...

I know you're thinking-- "How many pictures can we see of these kids outside?" Well, this weather is so completely exciting to us-- I can't get enough!!! It's in the 50s here and we are so LOVING IT!!! Spring is here and you can smell it in the air! So here are the Taylors doing what they love best...

Bionic girl...

Breckyn is ok-- don't be alarmed. She and I have been going through a series of test at our Children's hospital. This is the latest. She has been having stomach aches and heart pain for about a year now and so far they haven't figured it out. We just saw the heart doctor for the first time yesterday and they guinea pigged her. She didn't pass her first test, which lead to more tests, which ended in us coming home with this... a heart monitor. She has to wear this for 48 hours and it will hopefully catch her pattern in action. It has 5 leads from her chest (magic stickers) and that fashionable bag (her new cute purse) that has the count down and the date, time ect. (which is also a super cool bonus to her because she never has to look at the board at school for the date again). I was afraid that they would think she had a bomb strapped to her chest when she went back to school today. (they didn't) We will mail it in when she is done and go from there. In the mean time she is enjoying the attention and her sister Zoey is not. Zoey, bless her heart, has said many prayers about trying not to be jealous since yesterday. Breckyn can't take a shower until it comes off and that is a major concern for her (she is so my kid). Tonight we are going to be creative so she won't be stinky for school tomorrow. Rugs and Em out for a drive...
Zoey lookin' to smoke someone in her new wheels...

Another Sucessful Science Night...

The kids at the snack bar with another "non-Newtonian" experiment I like to call slime. (notice that Emerson doesn't have his goggles on and isn't touching the slime-- it was too "freaky" for him)
Zoey totally lovin' the ooooze factor...
Another experiment layering liquids-- super cool!
Happy St. Patty's Day!
Zo and Rugs all ready for school... go green!
Rugby made this fine hat at school today it says "O'Rugby" on it-- cute!
My little green guy

Brecky all decked out for school-- determined to win the "green" contest 2 years in a row...

It's SPRING...

Today it was heaven! It got to be in the high 40s and the sun came out. We had to get out and party. So after school the kids and I let loose outside. Look how happy they are to be out, with the sun, no coats, and you can see the grass!!! Yeehoo!!!
Look at the joy on her face-- the sun does exist!!
Rugby and Emerson trying to play "baseball." Hmm... I think they just like the bat part. It looks like Em has the upper hand here.
Z and Rugs in their cool baseball stance...
Grandpa would tell ya-- keep your eye on the ball Z...
All the Taylors swingin' their guts out!
Rugby in all the proper protective gear. You never know when you might take a hit to the knee or get some serious chain burns to the hand.... wait to be prepared son.

A sneak peek at what Breckyn's senior pictures will look like... :)
Em and Rugs using the garden shovels on the last of the snow.

That's my boy...

Today we had to stay after church for a baptism. The kids were all jazzed to see their friend get "dunked." The kids were all standing right up front to see all the action and Rugby and Em couldn't see so I offered to hold them up. After he was baptised-- just as their friend was being lifted out of the water Rugby yells (no exaggeration), "I'm NEVER getting baptised!" There was an audible gasp and some laughter-- I was SOOOO embarrassed. I got comments like, "don't worry, I'm sure he'll change his mind..." or "why did he say that?" and "perhaps you should be setting a better example for him" and "glad it wasn't my kid..." All of which reconfirm just how horrifying his comment was in that silent peaceful moment of newness-- shattered for all time for his little friend. Thanks Rugby. Just in case any of you are also wondering what would cause him to say that... he is afraid of getting his face wet. He won't go under the water in the pool. It was also the source of much embarrassment last summer in his first attempt at swimming lessons. He will splash it up with the best of them in the tub or shower-- but not in the swimming pool. He is 3 and already making a name for himself as the troubled child at church. So no big sinful secret... the kid just doesn't like getting his face wet. I'm sure it'll be a while before anyone at church believes me... thanks Rugby...

4 Days in a row...

Grandma got Rugby a new shirt. He really likes it. Infact, he has worn this shirt the past 4 days in a row. I'm sure you are all wondering if it could possibly be clean-- well, yes it is. It was a freak lining of nature that I happened to have washed it every night and he pulled it out of the clean clothes pile begging to wear it every morning. He is my fashion man that loves to pick out his own clothes and when it's new-- he's gotta have it. Thank you Grandma.
As an extra bonus, it did match the letter of the day at preschool...W. He was in heaven. It was the trifecta red, new, and W. Who could ask for more? (I'm lovin' all the cheese I'm getting from him here-- how cute!)

My son the Dancer...

Emerson found the girls old ballet shoes in the dress-up bin-- it's a hit. He loves them and wears them all around the house. It's pretty stinkin' hilarious! at least they match his outfit...
We were all getting ready to leave the house and I open the garage door to find this...
Breckyn has taken my sunglasses and my spot as top dog of the car... she's lookin' sassy!

Science night- Daddy Style

I had to beg, offer and threaten to get "Blogging" privileges for Science night this week.
(it's me Tim with my first "blog")
So after no further adieu the opening edition of Science Night -Daddy Style.
Each week I pick a theme for our experiments. This week we were exploring the "states" of elements (Gas, Liquid, and Solid).

We started to grow crystals, primarily sugar ones in jars like the above. We will update as they grow bigger.

Breckyn is showing a "non-Newtonian" experiment, which behaves like both a solid and a liquid. Note: The Newtonian reference is referring to his law of viscosity.

(a.k.a. cornstarch and water)

Emerson is showing his stuff.

Zoey is showing that the liquid state of the goop.

Just to assure readers, Rugby got special permission to remove the protective goggles, he was having fogging issues. I do not have all the quick jokes that Leca may have, but believe you me we had fun.

How you doin'?
