The Difference Between Girls and Boys

Another interesting conversation with Aiden tonight. This kids' mind never stops working!

As Aiden is getting out of the shower and I'm helping him get dried off, pj's on, etc. he says to me:

"Mom, why do you have that line there?"

I'm thinking, what the heck is he talking about? "What line Aiden?"

He then points to my cleavage! I know, I'm currently in transition between clothes (maternity vs. regular clothes and we know what breastfeeding can do to us women).

"I don't have that line there - see?"

"Well, Aiden, God just made that line there for mommies. It helps us to give our babies milk." Seriously, this kid puts me on the spot with these questions all the time. And being sleep deprived, I'm running out of clever, but true answers!

"Why do only mommy mammals get to feed their babies milk?"

"God made us that way, one of the may differences between men and women."

"Oh."

And then he was off to pick out some books for bedtime! Gotta love him!! :)

Squishy Grapes

As Aiden was getting out of the shower tonight, here is the conversation we had:

"Mom, guess what?"

"What Aiden?"

"These two things on each side of my pee pee feel like squishy grapes."

Um, I was at a loss for words, so I told him not to squeeze them too hard!

Deep Thoughts with Aiden #101

Lately Aiden has been asking questions relating to words that sound the same, but have different meanings. I wish I had more examples to share right now, but at the moment, have very little brain power left for the day. But this one from yesterday was the best. As we were heading upstairs to take a bath & get ready for bed, Aiden asks me, "Mom, why do we have a vegetable pea and pee that comes from our privates?" It took me several times of asking what he meant by "vegetable pea" and when I finally realized he was talking about the vegetable - then I understood his question! So, ponder that one for awhile!

Funny Conversation with Aiden #679

So, last night for some reason, Aiden did not sleep very well. Growing spurt? Not sure. Likes to wake mommy and daddy up 5-6 times/night? I think so! I guess he is just getting us ready for sleepless nights again when his little brother comes.

So this morning when we were talking about why he didn't sleep very well he tells me, "Mom, I know I wasn't sleeping because I could hear with my ears and when I'm sleeping, I don't". I guess I never thought of it that way before!

Aiden's "Friend Birthday" Party

We had a birthday party for Aiden with his friends this past Saturday. December birthday's are hard. I found many party places don't do parties during the month of December, and trying to get from Thanksgiving to Christmas with a birthday in between is enough to make me about have a nervous breakdown every year. So after 4 years - I finally had a light bulb turn on and decided to try a party in January this year!

We had his party at Crayola Cafe and including Aiden there were 12 kids there. I think they all had a nice time! Here are some pictures of the event!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year...we are still here! One of these days - hopefully sooner than later - I will post something here again. I have all kinds of catching up, funny stories, sweet stories, etc. to share, I just need to find some energy and time to get it done! This is obviously a preview of what's to come when baby #2 gets here right?!
