my prediction isn't accurate.
instead of dancing on mon, wed and fri this week, i'm dancing on mon, tues, wed, thurs, fri and sat!
monday:a * perf & xen
tuesday: a * perf
wednesday: xen
thursday: a * perf
friday: xen
saturday: union sq (hopefully)
sunday: rest~

i dunno why i'm dancing so much.
i don't seem to be improving!
haiz.
the a * performance item is getting along nicely. unfortunately we don't have access to mirrors, so no one knows how she looks when she dances. which is a bad thing really. i need a studio! haiz.

oh yes.
i bought a skirt today.
i'm very pleased with it.
it looks a lot like the skirt jac lent me but its a bit shorter so i hope i won't step on it- i hooked the skirt and almost pulled it down in front of the class one too many times. so embarrassing :s
looking forward to wearing my new skirt yay.

supposed to go to the biopolis on friday to present our proposal for the dance item. like please loh. wat do u want me to do. dance a solo? goodness. bleh.
bah.
waste my time.
haiz.
busy.

i can predict the future.
i predict that i will be very busy for the next 4 weeks.
somehow the a * ppl got it into their heads that it would be a good idea for all the scholars to put up not 1, not 2 but 3 items for the scholarship award ceremony- 1 song, 1 video clip and 1 dance.
and guess which group i'm in.

i have been made the co-i/c of the dance item for the ceremony.
so together with an ex-rj dancer, i'm supposed to churn out a dance item in less than 4 weeks (3 weeks and a bit, really).
thats even worse than the most last minute performances that we used to have in hc!
so i obviously have a very bad feeling about this.
fortunately we are all scholars and therefore intellegent ppl.
so we have concluded that we need at least 10 practices before the actual thing.
so that adds up to about 3 practices a week-
on monday, wednesday and friday!
if that sounds familar, its cos i salsa on monday, wednesday and friday too!

hence i predict that i will be very busy, and very tired.
haiz~

after a long long haitus i have decided that it is time to blog again. after much deliberation and consideration, i have concluded that i should blog in grammatically correct english, and type in complete sentences as well. the whole point of this exercise is to ensure that i haven't forgotten how to write essays- in preparation for my impending entry into university in the very near future. and this nicely leads on to my next important topic- the university i'll be spending the next 3 years of my life in.
so which one is it?
definitely not any university in the US- stanford rejected me (and expectedly so), cornell withdrew my supposedly incomplete application and JHU nicely rejected me after putting me on the waiting list.
so the very unwelcoming continent is out of the question although the peeps at the a * interview nicely told me that they would rather have me apply to uni of wisconsin at the last minute then have me study in the UK.
unfortunately for them, that is not happening.
i prefer the UK to the US and that is that.

but then of course there is always good 'ol nus.
unfortunately, they rejected me twice- my appeal into medicine didn't get through.

so now i've accepted a *
to cambridge to read bio.
i wouldn't say that its "confirmed" yet cos i have yet to sign the deed.
so i'm not prepared to say goodbye yet- anything can happen before i sign the deed and book my plane ticket.

well.
so that's that i guess.
an end to all that "which uni are u going to?"
reality hasn't sunk in yet.

i found a salsa club there by accident on my way back from watching Blood Brothers.
so i went there on my second last day.
and attended half a class by supermario (cos i was late :S)
the 3x world salsa champion i think.
there were 2 classes going on.
beginners by this unknown person.
and advance by supermario and partner.
so i went for advance.
all the xenbar training came in helpful after 2 weeks of absence from dance as i tried my best to follow. fortunately i'm not the lead so i don't need to memorize anything. phew.
the class was fun.
we learnt a very short shine at the end.

after that i attended another class, intermediate, supermario's partner only.
he taught beginners and i didn't realise until it was too late for me to change.
so i stayed on.

after that i did social for a while.
was fun when the guy led well.
one black guy was very good.. but he kept shining and showing off and i forgot my shines so i was put off.
then there was this super tall and skinny guy. with a shaven head and unshaven face, wearing a grey singlet and looking like a jailbird. he was a terrible lead and was extremely perverted (shudder). tried to do the bachata (i think) which is similar to merengue (i think) which is a very close move. fortunately i realised it in time and kept my distance (20 cm hah!) so no harm done. there were many parts where he tried to pull me closer but ah hah! thanks to lessons from xen (justin or dickson), i know how to push the guy away constantly when dancing in the embrace position (use the left hand on the shoulder near the collarbone). so i spent my time tiring not to be rude (advice from justin),keeping my distance (push him away), letting go as often as possible (spin away!) to avoid contact and willing the song to end. when it did i ran away from the dance floor, thankful for the training and warning that xenbar gave.

after that i danced with a latino guy who was quite a good lead and a nice person. and a hk-brit guy who was nice but didn't know many moves. so all was not lost at the salsa club.. i still had fun.
and i got to take a photo with super mario!

lunch!

i went to Harrods.
had a buffet lunch there with my aunt and grandparents- a treat from my grandpa!
we sat there for 3 hours :s
to get our money's worth haha.
there were cold lobsters for starters, but the europeans didn't seem to like it. so between the 4 of us i think we ate at least 2 lobsters.

everything there is super ex.
i found the cheapest thing (i think)
35p = $1.05
a blueberry and apple flavoured sweet abt 10 cm long.

the female apparel department was amazing.
filled to the brim with designer wear.
and there weren't many sales ppl around.
so i tried on 2 versace dresses.
£600 and £800 each.
didn't look nice.
so i returned the dresses to the shelf.
and all this while no sales ppl approached me at all.
amazing.

Topshop

me again! in front of westminster abbey. a beautiful church. which contains the graves of kings and queens and issac newton and charles darwin, amongst others.
darwin is buried under his memorial plate. which is a biggish tile on the floor inside the church. which i, along with the other visitors, conviniently stepped on as we walked along the passageway.

okay.
goodnight.
