Embroidered barrette

I am still working on this embroidery project.  However, I it has been sidelined until after my sister's baby shower this weekend.  I was given the fine task of decorations, so I have been running around getting those together.  Though the piece is not done, I wanted to post what I have completed thus far.  I must admit, I am still envisioning how this will turn out, I like what I have thus far, but I am kind of stuck as to where to go with the design next.

I have actually torn this thing apart twice and so I don't want to move too fast but then again, I guess the only way to know if I will like something is to bead it up and see.  Being that this is my first embroider project, my expectations for the design are moderate, I am really focused on the stitching with this project, and really, the stitching is the easy part.

I will be sure t post when I am done, thought it may take a moment to get my designing mojo back for this project, I think I will leave it be until I can really think the rest of the design through (hopefully I won't have to tear out what I have done so far)

Butterfly Necklace

This was one of my first necklaces that I made when I started beading last summer and my sister "borrowed" it from me.  Well I never had a chance to take a picture of it but my sister broke the clasp and needed me to replace it and finally I had an opportunity to take a pic.  I actually have two more of these butterfly pendants and since the necklace was supposed to be for me in the first place, I can now mimic the beading, though I think I might bead a thin spiral rope for my pendant.

Bead Addiction

Sooo I am sitting up here late at night attempting to finish this bead embroidered ring.  I know i should be sleep, but I just can not put this project down; especially since I am so close to finishing.  I find it so funny that less than a year ago, I preferred sitting up late and reading a novel, now that beading has been introduced to my life; I have been sitting on the same novel for months on end now.

Well I have to keep this short and sweet because of course, my love, beading, is calling me and like any addict, I must give in to the lure of creation :-)

Wavy Bead Ring

I made this ring to try out a pattern I designed for a bracelet but I was not certain if it would work up like I pictured it, it did work up as I expected so I am going to create a tutorial for the Wavy Bracelet.

Completed Twinkling Triangles Necklace

So I finally completed the necklace and I love the outcome, it fits well and looks amazing on.

Twinkling Triangles necklace in the works

I have not posted anything in a few days, but I am hard at work weaving peyote triangles for a necklace I have designed.  I am uber-excited about the outcome, in my mind it is going to be fabulous, hopefully when it is finished it really will be worth all the time and effort.

I have included a picture below to show you some of the triangles so far, I still have at least 3 more to make and I then have to decide on whether I want to use a spiral rope or an embellished wire for the necklace.

Still not quite done, but wanted to show the outcome of the focal part of the Twinkling Triangles Necklace

Finally, this piece is complete!!!

La Mona Bracelet

So I used another design by Ellad and this one featured cubic right angle weave (CRAW).  Must say, this weave is mighty challenging but once you get the hang of it, it becomes easier.  I made a bracelet but the tutorial, found on jewelrylessons.com, is for earrings.

Medallion Necklace

The pendant is brick stitched and I just love the color turquoise so I wanted to incorporate it with the earthy stone beads that are strung on the necklace.  I am not certain of the sizes of the stone beads ( I got them last summer when I first started making jewelry); but the turquoise fire polished beads are 3mm, and I used 2 colors of japanese 11/0 seed beads, with 1.8mm cubes and 15/0 japanese seed beads.
