Baby, It's Cold Outside...

I love snow!

No, seriously. As long as I don't have to drive in it or shovel it, then I love snow! I love how it creates a blanket over everything and just for a little while, it's pretty and clean.

In honor of snow, I found this neat project on Pinterest where they took dollar store glass votives and epsom salt and created snow votives.

I decided to take the idea one step further and improve on it a little bit.

Pretty, right?

I took LED candles and epsom salt that I purchased at the dollar store, and mod podge to create snowball candles!

I coated the candle in mod podge, then rolled it into a plate full of epsom salt covering the candle.

I let the candles dry, then I reapplied the mod podge and rolled coated the candles in epsom salt a second time.

Don't the candles look like they are encrusted with snow?

I love how these little candles turned out! They look so pretty in my candle sconces too.

Okay Santa, Let's Try This Again...

Dear Santa,

Last year I wrote you a very nice letter with a few simple requests, but I felt a little cheated since I didn't get anything on my list (not even a new iron, come on, Santa!).

I feel like this year I've also been very good and have a few simple requests.

1. A Cure for Cancer - I know it's too late for Matthew, but this really is a horrible disease that I wouldn't wish upon anyone. I know I asked for this last year, but I'll probably ask for this every year until a cure is found.

2. Comfort - My entire family has really been through the ringer this year. This holiday season isn't going to be easy, especially when we think about who is missing from all the festivities. I hope that my family can find comfort in memories and in each other.

3. Love - Because love is such a powerful thing, it can comfort, it can transform, and it can heal. There can't seem to be enough love in the world.

Love, Bethany

P.S. If you really aren't able to bring me any of the things on my list, I still need a new iron.

Dear Santa,

source

Dear Santa,

I would like to think that I have been a very good girl this year (but I think you realize this already). So for Christmas I would like the following:
  1. World Peace (wouldn't that be so nice?)
  2. A cure for cancer - this one might be a little selfish on my part, but it would help more then just Amazing Boyfriend, I promise.
  3. Happiness - because this world can always use a little more
Love, Bethany

P.S. If you are unable to bring me any of the things on my list, a new iron that doesn't have a broken knob that falls off every time I use it would be nice too.

Help Save My Christmas Spirit!!!

The rest of the world seems to think that Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year. And there are plenty of wonderful things about it. I love spending time with my family, making things for family and friends, being generous and spreading cheer.

However...

Since I work retail, my holiday spirit seems to get sucked right out of me as soon as I step through the door at work. Most of the time I don't even have a chance to clock in before I have someone demanding something from me or of me.

So to unwind after a long day at work, I love to come home, curl up with a blanket and a cup of hot chocolate and look at all the amazing holiday creations and ideas that everyone has. Which means...

I'm having a Christmas/Holiday link party!!!

Help Save My Christmas Spirit

From midnight November 25th to midnight December 25th, this link party will be open!

I want to see how everyone else is celebrating the holidays. Holiday decorations, beautifully decorated trees, Christmas gift ideas, yummy holiday candy or recipes, any fun or silly traditions, anything holiday related that you can share to spread some holiday cheer!

I do have a few guidelines -

Holiday related posts only please - I will delete non-holiday related posts
Please add the button to your post, so that everyone can join in the fun.
Please do not link Etsy shops or giveaways.
Please visit other posts and leave comments for others - we all deserve a little holiday cheer!

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas...

Well, it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas in my Etsy shop

I've been working really hard the past couple of weeks on Christmas gifts (which unfortunately, I can't show you just yet) but I've also been working on Christmas items for my shop.

Here's a little taste of what I've got...

Some holiday themed chalkboard gift tags, that could also be used as fun Christmas ornaments

This cute little snowman candle holder

A variety of adorable handmade ornaments

And of course, I had to make a few wreaths!!!

Just so you all know, that tulle wreath is probably my favorite wreath I've ever created, I hope it goes to a good home.

And since my loyal readers have been so patient with my lack of posts this month, I'm going to offer you a 15% discount in my shop using the code: holidaycheer. This code will be available until midnight Monday, November 28th.
