1. No, Harith will not be partaking in this september's run of Actorlympics.
2. You can get tickets from actor's studio. the phone number is 03-20941400 / 03-20940400. On the phone however, you can only book by credit card and inquire for available dates. If you want tickets better you physically go to Bangsar shopping complex actor's studio.

End of an Awesome Journey and the beginning of a New.
SUMO-lah will rock you SOON!
Two nights ago at 3.31 am on a sunday morning, the principal photography of SUMO-lah was wrapped at the kampung Baru location. It was an emotional end to a journey which for some took 64 days and to others over 120 days (including LOS dan FAUN). For me the journey is only halfway trodden as we go into post-production soon but i will sorely miss all the friendships forged, the camaraderie of the team and the passion of wanting to be a part of something greater than ourselves. Imagine living in a pressure cooker for that amount of time, one cannot help but get attached with the people around you. The cast was awesome. I would like to give a special mention to AWIE who i have come to know and love on this shoot. I think he is a person of amazing character, great passion and not to mention captivating charisma. To be honest, i use to doubt his acting skills( when he used to do Yusof Haslam movies), although i have always acknowledged him as being extremely charismatic onscreen, but after experiencing this man on the SUMO shoot, now i see him in a completely different light. I am proud to say that my judgement of him was sorely mistaken before. I was wrong and i am proud to say it. But more than just his acting, His passion for filmmaking really shone through to me as we spent time on set in FUKUOKA and PUCHONG. His commitment to the film was second to none and he really gave his all eventhough going through a hard time in his life. He Rocks and i love him as a friend.
My crew was also outstanding as they kept pace with me and gave me their best and more all the time. It was sad to see one by one the actors being wrapped from the shoot and finally when the last shot was taken, my character was wrapped. I look forward to editing it as i know we have something outstanding in the cans. You know when you just have a great feeling about something and just know that you are on the brink of something life-changing, i feel SUMO-lah is it. I could be wrong but I can dream.
Yesterday i had some downtime with my wife after not really spending time with her for so long and i felt like i was on a first date again. I told her that after working so long, it actually feels like a gift from god to be able to spend time and connect with her. We took the kids out to see PGLM, dropped them home, went to dinner and then went to see ADAM SANDLER's 'CLICK'.. ..that was no coincidence.... it was like a wake-up call.
For those of you who have not seen click i urge you all to go see it as it seems to me that someone has just made a movie about my life. But that is for another entry.

Back from Japan!!! SUMO-Lah hampir ke garisan penamat.
Hi gang apa khabar? Memang sudah lama saya tak menulis didalam blog ini kerana kehidupan yang bergelumang dengan kerja untuk memperbaiki diri dan menjadi yang terbaik mungkin di dalam kerjaya saya.
Minggu lepas saya dikenalkan dengan budaya kerja orang jepun and i am quite awed at how friendly, efficient and how quickly they adapted to working with my crew. The shoot went smooth, with some minor annoyances, but as a whole i think we have an outstanding product in SUMO-Lah. It was really touching to see the two crews exchange goodbyes as we were leaving back to kl and i must say i never tire watching grown men cry as i know that they have been moved by the whole new experience.
Semalam saya baru pulang dari Jepun bersama krew saya dan saya rasa amat teruja berjumpa dengan anak bini saya. I missed them so much. My daughters have grown up so much, the way they talk, their facial expressions and i just can't help but ask myself what part i had in helping them be this way. Don't get me wrong, i am not complaining about being busy but i pray to allah i never lose sight of what is really important to me, my family.
Going to Japan and experiencing the freedom at which the artistes there are able to express their souls through their art really made me think about our country and made me ask myself what i want to achieve in my short time here on this earth. I have never wanted to be too popular and end up having a wedding at klcc, but i have this need to do work which will, even if in a small way, be inspirational to people. I think when you die people very rarely remember how much money you have, but they will remember... if you have done or affected them somehow. I guess i have a need to make a difference, to make an impact, to leave a mark on this earth when i leav,e so that in times to come, some good will come from it. I realise in japan that my fight really means something and my quest is really important to me... and money isn't a great motivator anymore. I guess when you start not to care about the dollars and sense of it all (I can already see investors squinting their eyes as wrinkles slowly form on their foreheads) you are free to explore the depths of your creativity.
However having said that, i am no U-Wei hj Shaari nor am i a Yasmin Ahmad, I am in awe of their creative freedom and the path the have chosen for their life. I am sure they have had to fight for what they have right now, as i have wth my own personal battles and demons. Coming from a poor family, i have been trained by my parents and then brainwashed by the malaysian education system to believe that , having a stable job, security and making as much money i can, should be the main objective in life, being an artiste... being creative... thinking out of the box... having dreams were all a waste of time. Get 20A's in your spm, then get on the Dean's List in ur UNI and be headhunted by the big corporations so finally they can stick u behind a desk and WORK FOR SOMEBODY ELSE. This is in no way wrong if this what u want for yourself, but as Robert Kiyosaki said in his book, Business school is where they breed robots. What happens when the way people do business before, doesn't work anymore now, as in the case of the recording industry. The way they've been doing business haven't changed but other factors like people and technology has, so instead of Harvard business school grads, they need creative people, who think out of the box to come up with some fresh new business ideas and concepts to revive the ailing giant.
I might die never being rich for thinking this way but i think there is a reason why god gave me a brain, and especially for making me see things the way i see them. 'MONEY does not equate TRUE HAPPINESS' and when i truly understand this mantra, i know i will be really free and i will achieve greater enlightenment.
Why i believe my movies work? My desire to make people happy and enhance their paradigm is greater than making money. I want for people to live 'in' today and make themselves want to be better human beings, as i am trying to be. It is not enough for people to just have a laugh at my movies, it is essential that they KEEP THINKING!
I am aware of the power that comes with my fans watching my movies, making it box office successes and showing to the rest of MALAYSIA that i am someone to watch out for. My fans are my true heroes. It is their choice to want something different that has given my film career true life and true meaning. And now It is my responsibility to keep doing better work and to give them things that i have in my head (and not nescessarily what they want).
Two projects : LOS DAN FAUN and SUMO-lah are the first true foray into this... I have not experienced this kind of freedom in making movies ever, working for the studios and i am proud of this two movies and wait to see where i can go from there. HOPEFULLY : THE WORLD.
On another ambitious great Malaysian note : Puteri Gunung Ledang is on again and if any kodoks want to go with me and some of the cast of SUMO-lah please call Anne and if you don't have Anne's number call VISIONWORKS at 0341435097. I believe that Puteri Gunung Ledang the Musical was one of the best things to happen to this country and especially to local theatre for a long time.
So guys apa lagi, i know some people don't believe this, but i truly believe if you choose to be better human beings our world will become a greater to live in. try it. Pick up the next rubbish you see on the street tommorow or give a complement to the security guard at your apartment or give a smile to the bus driver or sapa-sapa saja kan. You've got a brain, i'm sure you can come up with something more creative to do to be better human beings. The small thing make a difference. U make a difference.

IT's coming and it's looking good.
We are on a three day break from shooting and i am so looking forward to it as we haven't been on a break for about three weeks. It's great to have some downtime with the wife and kids as we hardly get to see each other during shoots. Both my daughters have grown up so much and i hate the fact that i am missing their development stages. But it's what i do and hopefully my work will make them proud of me.
What's interesting to me is that this movie looks like a foreign movie with malaysian actors. The set is outstanding thanks to Paul Hasham and team , The crew is excellent, always giving their all and the actors are a joy to work with no childish nagging or diva-ish attitude. This is a dream project, which did not come easy, but it will be the biggest movie i have ever tried to accomplish. WISH ME LUCK and I promise that this movie will not dissapoint. I am giving this thing all that i have got.

A Loss.
A few quite eventful thing happen happen to me the last couple of weeks. The most important of which was the passing of my step father, Allahyarham Mohd. Taib, the man my mother married just over a year ago. I wouldn't know how to express how i feel about the loss except that, it shook me and sort of gave me a rude realiti check. More importantly than that however, i am very sad for my mom who had found love again but had lost it in such short a time. I believe however, it is better to have love and lost than not at all and am sure in the brief time that they were together they had given each other joy, happiness and companionship.
Mak if you are reading, I am so sorry for your loss and even more sorry that i cannot be by your side during this hard time. I guess that is my failure as a human being, but know that my thoughts are constantly with you now. i love you mak.
For my muslim friends and blog readers out there who would like to do so, i would be grateful if you would join me in reciting the AL-Fatihah for my step father.
AL-FATIHAH...
Terima Kasih
Yob.
PS. This entry is merely my way of marking this event and the emotions that it has stirred inside of me.

SUMOLAH IS ROCKING AND ROLLING! My experience working with NANG NAK.
THE VERY TALENTED AND VERY BEAUTIFUL SAI CHAROENPURA
Today SUMO-lah was shooting a scene out in cyberjaya, which i think is a great location, the only problem is, it was like shooting at the gates of hell as the temperature out was on a heat-stroke inducing high. One of the set Assistant directors collapsed due to the heat but she's ok now. Sumo is going great and is now 25% complete.
Two days ago, i had the pleasure of working with one of Asia's top leading lady, Inthira Charoenpura. She is a bonifide anak wayang from Thailand. Her father was a famous film director so she literally grew up on a film set and walaupun amat besar namanya di negara Thailand sendiri, she is such a joy to work with due to her high standards of professionalism. What surprises me is how easy it is to work with her. Just imagine this, she is thai but she has to play a character who speaks melayu, english and japanese (which is quite a feat) and she is doing so well. I am learning a lot from working with the two international artiste and hopefully this knowledge will take us to higher level of professionalism and will help us make better international quality films.
I can't wait to share some of the crazy scenes we shot in this film with you, but wait you must, pasal tak habih shooting lagi.

CHIEF KODOK RETURNS!!... SUMOLAH first day of Principal Photography
First of all SORRY teramat sangat kerana tidak mengupdate blog pacal yang hina ni, kerana pacal macam kamu jugak... hanya insan yang lemah dan masih banyak melalui liku-liku hidup. Bak kata pepatah mat rempit berwawasan "Bukan senang nak hidup senang brader." Satu headache dah habis dan satu lagi bermula sekelip mata. I am not complaining , actually i am saying bring it on... cause what doesn't kill me will only give me information and make me stronger.
Ok let's retrack my thoughts step by step. Let me give you a brief rundown of what happened in my life in the last month till today.
We ended LOS dan FAUN on the 1st friday of JUNE. It was a an interesting experience and i must say the hardest shoot that i have encountered so far. There were many casualties of the production but thankfully most friendships still lay intact.
Then straight away, without a moment's breather we went straight into actorlympics May which was so much fun and such a tension reliever.
Managed to jumpa a bunch of fellow kodoks who have been infected by the Actorlympics virus. A good frien of mine decided to get married secara tergempar... Aida Nerina yang juga biul tapi beautiful tu.
My children's nanny, Annie left us, as contract dia dah habis and she has gone back to KK to Start anew and we wish her the best of luck and may allah keep her safe, she has been so close to Mia and Anais that i regarded her as their older sister. Her going back feels like a relative has gone away.
After a couple of days break, pre-production for SUMO-Lah resumed and is the stress and headaches are coming back. BUT I LIKE IT.
Sekarang kita baru mula Shooting, the longest project and biggest project of my life, the one that i am risking everything to make it the best : SUMOLAH. Dengan budget sekangkang kera (comparatively to other foreign projects) We are trying to make a movie yang kalau ridley scott atau francois truffaut tengok pun dia kata," ok gak la mamat malaysia ni buat filem!" (dude i have to have a dream right). OUR JOURNEY BEGINS TODAY! DOA-DOAKANLAH KAMI SELAMAT.

Check out some of the teaser posters done by ISMA. Check it.
Much kudos to the cast for giving their best in all the scenes. Setiap scene ada kelebihannya. Setiap scene ada aje orang yang shine dan memberi lebih dari 100 percent. In film terms we call them 'scene stealers' and there are many in this movie.
Sorry i cannot blog more because i have to get ready for the final scene tomorrow involving someone falling out of a single engine helicopter. Doakan everything selamat.... i am so excited for all of you to see the movie.

35 YEARS OLD AND STILL KICKING! What a wonderful birthday. Syukur Alhamdulillah!
Cip Kodok tengah explain scene rogol dengan FAUN.
With the most beautiful co-star we had on set. The beautiful kak Yusni.
The truth is, for the last 5 years i have worked thru my birthday and this year was no different. Due to The hectic scedule of the LOS dan FAUN production, we were still shooting on the 19th of MAY. BUT hey that is life iam so bersyukur because for the first time in a long while i am not so knee deep in financial shit. I am sort of floating around in it right now, which is not too bad.
Things are looking up... something i had to make myself belief when times were hard. At times this single factor alone could drive one to achieve his or her vision. I have always gone against the flow. At times i have paid for it, but in many other times have benefitted by getting some outstanding and groundbreaking results.
Tengah tengok anak bulan......atau anak orang?!!
So yeah, i had a great birthday today.
1. I was working for the earlier part of the day on a really exciting film project, and managed to complete everything on my schedule.
2. My two beautiful babies came to the set with wifey and we had cake on set.
3. We went for lunch together.
4. Spend time with kids at home allowing wifey to take an afternoon nap.
5. had a mini nap in my kiddies room.
6. Went to have chinese dinner with wife. The ikan kod steam dengan soy sauce was like gold melting in your mouth.
7. Saw the poseidon at tgv klcc and had a blast. Not the best movie in the world but one that keeps you on edge for the longest time.
8. Had a nice conversation with the wifey at the concorde coffee house. haven't been able to sit down with her and just talk about nothig and everything in a while.
9.Had a good 8 hours sleep.
Alhamdulillah for making my birthday such a meaningful one.

An Interesting story!
Hi there gang. Got this over the e-mail today and i know some of you might have read it before but i think it is worthy of sharing to those who have not heard the story before. i really believe insya'allah that it is part of god's greater plan.
His name was Fleming, and he was a poor Scottish farmer. One day,
while trying to make a living for his family, he heard a cry for help
coming from a nearby bog. He dropped his tools and ran to the bog.
There, mired to his waist in black muck, was a terrified boy,
screaming and struggling to free himself. Farmer Fleming saved the lad
from what could have been a slow and terrifying death.
The next day, a fancy carriage pulled up to the Scotsman's sparse
surroundings An elegantly dressed nobleman stepped out and introduced
himself as the father of the boy Farmer Fleming had saved.
"I want to repay you," said the nobleman. "You saved my son's life."
"No, I can't accept payment for what I did," the Scottish farmer
replied waving off the offer. At that moment, the farmer's own son came to
the door of the family hovel.
"Is that your son?" the nobleman asked.
"Yes," the farmer replied proudly.
"I'll make you a deal. Let me provide him with the level of education my
own son will enjoy. If the lad is anything like his father, he'll no doubt
grow to be a man we both will be proud of." And that he did.
Farmer Fleming's son attended the very best schools and in time,
graduated from St. Mary's Hospital Medical School in London, and went on
to become known throughout the world as the noted Sir Alexander Fleming,
the discoverer of Penicillin.
Years afterward, the same nobleman's son who was saved from the bog was
stricken with pneumonia.
What saved his life this time? Penicillin.
The name of the nobleman? Lord Randolph Churchill. His son's name?
Sir Winston Churchill.
Someone once said: What goes around comes around.
Work like you don't need the money.
Love like you've never been hurt.
Dance like nobody's watching.
Sing like nobody's listening.
It's National Friendship Week. Send this to
everyone you consider A FRIEND.
Pass this on, and brighten someone's day.
May there always be work for your hands to do;
May your purse always hold a coin or two;
May the sun always shine on your windowpane;
May a rainbow be certain to follow each rain;
May the hand of a friend always be near you;
May Allah fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.
MORE POWER TO ALL OF YOU.

YOU WANNA B A MOVIE STAR!!
It's been quite a while since gua blogged and the reason has been the intense schedule of LOS dan FAUN.
I have to say gang, when i was starting the movie i was suddenly stricken by a panic attack because i was afraid i had forgotten how to direct. I must admit that it was rough first couple of days but i am happy to announce we are going strong and we are rocking the chekodok bang bang!. This movie is probably the wierdest almost experimental or very-de-mental MELAYU MOVIE.
Me and some really cute extras yang Patrick Teoh didn't get to meet.
Crew tengah standby nak shooting.
Los dan Faun di kedai coli
It hasn't been without drama however because after just about two weeks, gua terpaksa masuk hospital sat because of dehydration but i was in and out in the same day. This shoot has been quite tremendous and mendahsyatkan kerana apa yang telah kami shoot dan apa yang akan kami shoot. I have to say that it has been a wonderful experience working with such great actors, Adlin, Hans, Khir Rahman, Stephen Rahman, Ida Nerina, Erra, Din Beramboi, Douglas Lim, Rashid Salleh, Nadia Mustaffar, Edwin Sumun... they are all so talented, gila and bagus. I wish they can all win an academy award or some type of award as an ensemble.
Something interesting to report is that a few bloggers have also made their way into the film. Currently these people are ANNE aka Lourenzar and DJ cybersonic. Hee Hee.... they were in some kelakar gaban scenes.
After going thru this crazy fortnight i have decided to do another competition for anyone who wants to have a chance to be on LOS dan FAUN..... And it's called the 'WHY I SHOULD BE in one scene ON LOS dan FAUN competition!' The best answer gets to be on los and faun and we will also give you some CASH for your efforts. So what you waiting for, send me an email with the competition name as the title and come on over and be a star.
Anne is also organising a set visit for all kodoks interested to do a set visit on LOS dan FAUN and you are all welcome to meet the artistes who are available on the day and tangkap gambar kalau teringin, so for more information about the set visit call ANNE at 03-41435097. Limited to the first 50 people only, sorry. Itu saja kami mampu ketika ini.

First look at the very cool and funny 'LOS dan FAUN' cast. WHAT DOESN'T KILL ME, MAKES ME STRONGER!
Dudes, don't bother about the MAFAA thingy, it was an annoyance at the most. Gua pun acah aje! I guess it was a natural reaction to being threatened for a taurus... we tend to fight back!. For those of you who thought that i lost my cool in my last post and i am so melayu for retaliating - i got an update for you ... i am melayu and proud of it, and being human i guess i am allowed to lose my cool once in a while. But i consider it water under the toilet now. hehe.
I actually would like to thank Mafaa for bringing up the issue because it has always been a secret ambition of mine to appear on the front cover of any national newspaper!
and now...I MADE IT. AFDLIN SHAUKI is on the FRONT PAGE of the MALAY MAIL BABY yeaaa!!! WOOOO!... FOUR DAYS IN A ROW!
I'm so glad i didn't have to rape, kill, maim, start a black magic money syndicate with the nigerians, contract birdflu, caught on camera sucking on a sisha bong, build an elevated highway with cracks on it, .... etc. to be able to be front page worthy.
Finally, i hit the big time.
Finally I AM LIKE ... MAWI, DIANA RAFAR, ZAMARUL HISHAM, SITI, DATUK K, ERRA, YUSRY...SAMY!
Actually my adverse reaction is targeted more to the annoying anonymous postings. But frakk it! What will be will be. They don't matter cause they don't exist.
Besides, there is something more important to talk about, which is, what the folks at radio, televisyen Malaysia are doing to YASMIN AHMAD, in a talkshow Yesterday night (hosted by Malaysia's number one hero) which basically criticized Yasmin's films are morally bad and unethical. What the fish head curry is this? Why is it that everytime a melayu person does anything good for his/her industry and the country, he / she always gets crucified and there is always another group of people wanting to pull her down. Kenapa macam ni beb? Why are we not a people who would say praise and give encouragement rather than condemn. It truly pisses me off that we live in a society hat believes to get on top we have to pull people down and step on them rather than to work our way to somehow stand tall together with the victorious one day.
As you know, i welcome discussion and i believe that a good discussion will result eventually in some form of intellectual growth for all parties involved insya'allah but what transpired on tv yesterday on Fenomena Seni was more akin to a witch hunt rather than a proper discussion. The panelist include two people who have outwardly and publicly expressed their hate for SEPET and En. Hassan Mutalib appeared like he was going with what the popular view was rather than what he believed in. His comments, were spineless at best. I believe that someone has an agenda and it is not an honorable one toward Yasmin. She had no chance, even if they allowed her to give her opinions (which they didn't).
My personal opinion of The discussion is that, they were views from the narrowminded small people in the industry who are fixed in their ways and are afraid of change. The people who think the job of cinema is pure escapism. The people who do not understand the use of subtext in film. (subtext =what is said, and the action we see in the picture carry two very different meanings.) . I learn a lot from watching Yasmin's work and attention to detail and hope to one day be able to make movies which cuts thru all the BS and straight away raises the issues that we always try and avoid dealing with in our society.
Share with me your views on this gang!

I GUESS I WON'T BE FLYING MALAYSIAN AIRLINES for a while! AIR ASIA, i hope you have seats big enough for me FAT ass...
First of all, i would like to say thank you to all of my friends and kodoks who have shown me their outpouring support over my most unhygenic hour, toilet wise. Thank you for your belief that there can be humor without any malice. Thanks for believing that there is a need for people to be able laugh at themselves first, before other people start to laugh at them. For realising that there is learning in humour. And finally, Agreeing that cleaning Toilets makes you a better person and doesn't demean you. I am truly blessed to have friends like you guys and thanks again for having my back.
Before i can share with you my experiences on my current film production called LOS dan FAUN (which i might add is rocking like a hurricane!!!) i have to do some house-cleaning (which includes toilets as well.)
Kepada Harimau kumbang, Harith is also a comedian dan dia amat terasa bila benda ini terjadi pada saya, Like Visitor said kenapa kita perlu berterimakasih bila orang tu yang nak menjahanamkan kita dulu sedangkan kita tak buat apa yang mereka kata kita buat. In this case, they said i was trying to defame the Flight Attendants' profession. Saya telah bersedia untuk melawan saman itu, selepas mengambil kira pendapat wakil-wakil Film Director's association of Malaysia, Producers' Film Association, and many of my friends and fans out there, who believe in what i do. Berani kerana benar KAn.
Kepada anonymous yang cakap "lepas ni nak buat lawak pasal orang gemuk , orang cacat, pompuan !!!" All i can say is Too late-lah you bodo siaa!!... We have been the brunt of evil jokes in this society since time immemoreum (whatever the spelling is). Sampai we are the first to learn - to just take it as a joke. BUT kalau berani, why don't u show us your name and email when you do it. I didn't hide myself.
Actually lemme do it for you-la " Perut Afdlin Shauki boroi gile sampai kedai hiphop pun takde saiz baju dia, Perut aku macam tong dram kalau, Aku ada banyak sangat lemak sampai kalau aku jatuh dalam laut pun aku takkan lemas pasal lemak (minyak) lebih ringan dari air. Aku boyot gile sampai nak masuk toilet kapalterbang pun sendat!", tambahlah kalau ada apa-apa lagi cadangan. Gua takde rasa apa-apa beb, pasal gua dah lali dan gua tahu nilai harga diri gua sekarang. You must have your backside for a brain!
Actually, Right now, i think i would like to make a defamatory remark about people who use the nick ANONYMOUS with the intention of hurting people's feelinglah, pukul curi and defaming... kononnyalah!! tapi tak nak mengaku sapa dia. Takut apa?
I am here, for everyone too see. Bak kata orang Melayu " Walaupun teloq i kecik , at least ada gak teloq!" Hey, Maybe when you file a defamation suit i can finally see who you retards are... OR MAYBE YOU YANG TAKUT KENA SUE!!!
Here it is...
ANONYMOUS ni are bloody low life cowards-chicken with birdflu shit- good for nothing - worse than excrement and seriously, you must be the dumbest people on earth pasal you fail to realise that what you think or say doesn't matter, because you have no presence no being and obviously you do not believe in what you say because you will not commit your name to it. In short you are NOTHING. If you are brave enough to voice your opinions than show yourself be ACCOUNTABLE. you make me wanna vomit fluorescent green phlegm.
So kalau mahu berdiskusi janganlah datang mu anonymous. at least bagilah e-mel ke kalau berani nak bersuara lantang. Kalau tak memang macam Harum sundal la lu.
Please excuse my language people, i think i have been under so much duress and distress of late because of this issue that i a do not have all my wit from my fat head about me, with my name being dragged out in the newspapers, with people claiming that i have tried to demean and discredit them, it has caused a lot of stir regionally as my friends from Japan, Thailand, Singapore, Brunei have been telling me that the news have broken there as well, will it effect my capability to work there?. Whereas the stewardess's name nor airline was ever mentioned. My name was mentioned over-an over again and painted as the evil fat boy with no regards for other people's feeling. How will that effect me getting sponsors for my films. I already have a meeting scheduled with airasia for film sponsorship as they were keen to , but because the issue arose, it has been hard to get them to commit a meeting.
WAIT a minute. maybe i can sue MAFAA for DEFAMATION, loss of capacity to create income for projects due to name being defamed and Loss of capacity to work due to distress??
Is this possible?... Can i sue them?... Will check with my lawyer. Or any lawyers out there have a thought.

Much Ado about Toilet Cleaning?
One quick question.
Are the cabin crew association so insecure about their own profession that they have to justify that they are at par with airline pilots? in my mind they have a great profession. They get to travel, meet many people and at the same time. I too had contemplated once in my life about becoming a steward but alas my calling in the arts was stronger and they had no steward baju that could fit my bulbous size.
So, I am wondering now... why is there such a Hoo ha about that Syarifah Shahira scene on BULI BALIK.
IN CONTEXT.
When looking at any particular dialogue you have to understand the context from which it is said to understand what it was message it was meant to deliver. Hence that is part of the art of story-telling in cinema.
The scene they were talking about was the scene where sharifah shahirah's character obviously an unhappy stewardess with many internal issues responded the way she did in a therapy session for people with depression.
She was depressed. Depressed people say things that is a reflection of their current state of mind. In this context, SS was angry with the attention given to her by the boys, just because her sister mentioned that she is a stewardess. This is because in BULI we had earlier established that SS's Fiancee was having an affair with a stewardess working for Aeroflot and had left her for the stewardess. In BULI BALIK we see her become a stewardess to see what the fixation is that men have with stewardesses that they are seen as objects of desire aka sex symbols.
So In that context, when SS said that "what the big deal... I just clean toilets up there!", she was conveying her bitter frustration at the stereotype and retaliating to the response given by the male species of the therapy group about the stereotype of stewardessess in our society. If i were to literally translate what SS said in actual in your face dialog, then she would say " Excuse me, I pay my dues up there, my job requires me to do real work and not just look pretty for your filthy eyes, OK!!!" To me cleaning toilets, signifies real work. I do not see it as being beneath anyone.
BULI is a movie about how a bunch of people who are stereotyped as Fat, Ugly, Accountants etc. are trying to overcome their insecurities and become more confident with who they are.
I really don't see how The Malaysia Airlines Flight Attendants Association (MAFAA) couldn't see this, unless they didn't understand the film. Unless that scene is the only scene they watched! and based on that one scene the whole film is condemned.
The BULI and BULI BALIK Movies were always movies about social issues of coping with living in an unfair society today. And how do we addresss social issues if we can't even talk about them ... or lay them out there for people to contemplate.
Just another question to ponder
IS CLEANING TOILETS SO BAD? ...THINK ABOUT IT.
I clean my toilets to keep it hygenic for myself and my family. I do not think it is a job that demeans somebody's self worth. A former politician/Deputy Minister friend of mine told me once that he still cleans his house toilets because he cares about his family's well being and is proud to be of an example to his kids. The Moral is, if it is good enough for the leader of the house to clean the toilets, it is good enough for anyone.
God forbid that the toilet cleaner's association of Malaysia would then contemplate to take action against the The Malaysia Airlines Flight Attendants Association (MAFAA) for saying that their profession is DEMEANING.
In the end, this film is fictitious and has no intention to make any reference to anyone alive or dead.
A very famous person once replied when posed this question.
When can we say that we are truly developed nation?
When we can look at ourselves and laugh!

Urgent message to all Malaysian Film supporters! Please take note. Go see gubra! It is a breath of fresh air and it is provocative malaysian cinema!
Hi Gang, am very sorry sebab i tak dan nak buat blog entry about my misadventures in Los Angeles this is because Los dan Faun is starting this sunday, so i am busy the gila babas, but i have to do this little deed as it involves me in the long run. HELP US MAKE BETTER MALAYSIAN MOVIES. Help support GUBRA. Me and some kodoks went on the ninth and we resoundly agree it is a movie which has everything and overall a powerful provocative film experience. In short, i am confident that you have never seen what Yasmin has done in GUBRA, in any other Malaysian film. GO SEE IT TODAY. TOMMOROW MAY BE TOO LATE.
TAKEN FROM THE VISITOR's BLOG :
PHANTOM AUDIENCE AT GUBRA?
TO ALL WHO ARE GOING TO SEE GUBRA, PLEASE READ THIS:
As they say, "kuch kuch hota hai". Something, something, is happening. Yasmin wrote on her blog that several friends, including her producer Elyna, had gone to the cinema to buy tickets for Gubra but was told that the show they wanted was sold out. But their friends who had managed to get tickets for the same show went into the hall and found it half empty.
Now, this is extremely odd. Unless there were some massive coincidence, it wouldn't be that every single one of the booked tickets were uncollected.
Read about it here.
Yasmin found out later that someone has been making large bookings. She says:
"What's been happening is this. Someone, or some people, out there have been making false bookings in large numbers. However, only half the seats are available for bookings. which explains why the screenings are very often exactly only half full.
"I don't know what can be done about it, but that, it would seem, is what's been happening."
Strange, isn't it?
Anyway, no one wants to speculate, and certainly no one wants to make any accusations. But what we want is to make sure those who want to see the movie are able to do so.
So, here's my suggestion:
DON'T MAKE PHONE OR INTERNET BOOKINGS. GO STRAIGHT TO THE CINEPLEX COUNTER AND WAIT UNTIL HALF AN HOUR BEFORE SHOWTIME. THIS IS WHEN THEY RELEASE THE UNCOLLECTED BOOKINGS. BUY YOUR TICKET THEN.
I think it should be alright to buy tickets at the last minute, because the first 10 minutes of showtime are usually ads and trailers.
So, here's hoping we are able to rectify the problem from now on.
Tell all your friends about this, SMS them, send emails, get the message through. Blog about it.

I SURVIVED AMERICA! and i am ready to SHOOT MY MOVIE! - Chronicles of A MALAYSIAN Man in Los ANgeles.
Hey Gang! i am back in our beautiful hot and humid country and am so excited to watch GUBRA tomorrow. I am sure most of you wanna know and are wondering about a) how the trip to LA went b) was i treated like an arab terrorist at the airport. c) Did i meet anybody famous while i was there d) ...and if i died in a drive-by gangland asassination, who is going to get my action figure collection?
First of all, I am truly sorry for not blogging while i was in LA but i wanted to really immerse myself in that wonderful experience and internet connection in my hotel was damn mahal. The more time i spent on the net, the less money i will have to shop with. SHOPAHOLIC ALERT!!
Okay before i start to merepek here is a brief chronicle of my journey to The City of Angels.
This is How Los Angeles looks like when you are hanging from the bottom of the plane at 15000 feet.
This is how Los Angeles looks like when you are looking out of the window of the now debt ridden and cutting corners Malaysian Airlines 747-400 MH0094
"The Plane!... The Plane!". A Plane in American Skies.
The very scary WELCOME TO AMERICA SIGN.
The stretch Limo that was waiting for us at the airport. Actually, it was waiting for Datuk Farid la... tetiba teman di ajak menumpang heehee... rasa macam KANYE WEST pulak.
Muka-muka tak maly menumpang Limo Datuk Farid - Afdlin dan Nasha Aziz.
Bersama my lovely sis-in-law, infront of the airport.
Hotel Gua di San Pedro yang amat selesa sekali.. tapi jauh dari segala-galanya... tapi gua tetap syukur.

From the KLIA to your Heart. Melayu pergi ke LOS ANGELES!
Hey gang, gua kat airport ni tengah tunggu visa clearance so that we, the winners of the Anugerah Skrin, can be herded off to LOS ANGELES to enjoy the hostilities errr... i mean the hopitalities of the Americans.
To tell you the truth, i have never been remotely excited to go to the US because i have learned to fear them as a people thru years of them propogating their lifestyles through the hollywood vehicle that have been flooding our culture ever since cinema started in this country. So to say the least i am a bit apprehensive and fearful of the trip. Plus the 21 hour flight seems a bit daunting to me right now as i dunno how i will react to such a long haul flight.
I will however try to have fun and hopefully i will be pleasantly surprised at the outcome of the trip later.
Thank you so much to all of you that have wished me a safe journey to Los Angeles and i promise i will try and remember all the gift orders made by friends and family (budget willing). I also promise to take loads of pictures for my blog readers as i m itenarary reads... DISNEYLAND, WARNER BROTHERS VIP TOUR, UNIVERSAL STUDIOS and VENICE BEACH. Let's see how it goes.
To ALL KODOKS, I will make the GUBRA flashmob on the 9th with the kodoks as i a proud that the film has made it to our screens finally.
MUCH LOVE
Afdlin Shauki
PS . A few days ago i fell in love with another..... i am sorry to say this to my wife..... This new love is too sexy... too sexy and i cannot tahan.
I looked at her curves and i found myself salivating all over the floor.... This is my dream car THE MERCEDES SLR... but it cost 7 million ringgit!!!... Who in their right mind would pay 7 million ringgit for a car?... A person who has 70 million ringgit you say! and that person sure as hell ain't me, so take picture osso oklah.
Chiao Bella!
