Octoberfest

So last weekend I went to octoberfest with my friend Heather. We met up with about forty people from the airforce base in Germany, who had planned the trip. Below are some of the pictures that we took. I might put some more up later.

Yeah for German Food

The biggest plate of food I have ever seen...

...And Heather ate it all. Haha.

Lots of Pictures in Munich

The Devils Footprint

This is the Devils footprint which is in one of the churches in Munich. Legend has that as this church was being built the devil was flying around Munich. The church had run out of money while building and so the devil made a deal with the architect thinking that he could turn it into his church. The deal was that the devil would make sure there was enough money to build the church if he promised not to add anymore windows than what he could see now to the church, if he did the devil would get his soul. So the devil left and came back when the church was finished. He decided to go in a side door and when he opened it he saw lots of windows. He found the architect who took him to the front of the church and showed him that from there you could not see anymore windows. There are pillars blocking the view of the windows from the front of the church. The devil was so outraged that he stamped his foot and took off leaving the mark in the ground. That's the end of the story. Then we got to go in and see the footprint. Then the guide told us that it was really the architects signature. Kind of a disappointment I thought.

Munich

In this picture is my friend Heather, Jen, and me. We are about to go to the beer tent were we have reservations for Octoberfest. We are with a group of about forty guys and girls and everyone is dressed up just like this. Except the guys are in boy outfits.

My Day at the Louvre

The first Sunday of every month many of the museams in Paris are free. So my new friend Heather, her mom and I went to see the Louvre. We spent all day there and could not see everything. I want to go back the next time I get a chance.

My Trip to Versailles

I went with my new friend Heather and her mom to Versailles the second weekend I was here. We had tickets to see the gardens which play music all day. They are so beautiful. There are around 12 gardens to walk through. Some of them were under reconstruction so we could not see them. Sad :( We also saw the chateau while we were there. It was so pretty. There is one room that I have a picture of me in, that is a hall way of mirrors with windows opposite the mirrors and chandeliers down the hall. The picture is not very good but it was amazing to see because in the time the chateau was built mirrors were really hard and very expensive to have. Check out the pictures.

Chateau de Versailles

So below are the kids I take care of. Abby, Hannah, and Axelle are the three oldest, they are the ones I take care of. The babies are Parker and Penelope, they are currently three months old. There is also a picture of my room and the door the girls decorated for me before I got here.

My new family

The first weekend I was here we went to the Eiffel Tower. At night it sparkles for the first ten minutes of every hour. Pretty!
