Getting Ready

Everyone is outside getting ready for Rog's 50th bday party. I really like it when we all can come together and accomplish something that I thought would be overwhelming. Thanks guys for your help. I will be asking for more in the next 47.5 hours. Love ya.

Spring is here

Here is another idea I got from Pinterest. Yesterday Grace and I made these cute spring handprint flower pots. You could make them for Mother's Day or just as a fun craft project. I traced her hand on green construction paper and helped her cut it out. We then found scraps of construction paper to make the pot. We had flower, butterflies and bee cut outs that we used. Grace then wrote Happy Spring. Fun way to spend a little time together with a pretty project to display afterwards. Happy Spring you all!

He is growing up

My goof ball son!

Justin took his ASVAB test last night. He will hear of his results later this week. From what I understand he will then be meeting with a counselor to help him choose his career goals. He was hoping to be processed out by the end of March...what ever that means. I guess he could be reporting to Basic Training later this year. He is ready to start on a new adventure and I am so excited for him. Nervous and scared, yes, but excited.

Someone got her library card

Grace has a new library card! She was so excited to get her very own that she checked out the whole library! Grace has really grown in her reading ablities and I thought a fun way to reward her was to get her own card.

Pinterst interest

I am going to start updating my blog now that I have found Pinterst. I want a way to record my success and failures. I made a rainbow cake for St. Patricks Day.

I wish I had the orignal photo, which I will get replace with soon.

I made a regular white cake mix and took out 1/2 cup of mix to color. I then layered in a bundt pan and baked according to directions. It was very moist and a fun surprise for everyone.

My Hobby

I think everyone knows that I enjoy doing digital scrapbooking...maybe a little to much. I have found a few web sites that host different challenges. One might be a font challenge where the host will tell you what font to use in your layout or another might be a scraplift where you look at another scrapper's gallery and try to make your own version of their lay out.

Here are my two latest layouts and I won $5.00 gift certificates to Funky Playground Designs for each one. I won last week for a scraplift.... I just found out that I won this week with this entry.... I do enjoy going shopping with gift certificates.

What a year!

Baseball season is officially over. I have no idea on what direction the team will go in the future. If Mitchell wants to play, I hope that they would consider us. He is a great ball player and I think really showed his "stuff" this weekend. We were so proud of each of those boys out there this weekend. We were short staffed and everyone pulled more then their weight and did the job that they were asked to do. Win the STATE Championship.

Thank you coaches for a great year.

Way to go 2009 10U AA State Champions...Arizona Vandals.

Summer Nights

Tonight is a great example of why I love summer nights. The boys started an impromptu poker game.

Even Oscar joined in the fun.

Just in case any of you play poker with Toby....this is his poker face.

By the way, Toby won.

Travel

We are leaving soon to head to Riverside Ca. We will have a small service tomorrow morning and then head to the cemetary. Granny will be laid to rest in the same area as Grandpa in the National Cemetary. We will have a luncheon at the Mission Inn and then head home.

September 28, 1918 - May 3, 2009

It is what she did in that - that counts. Granny was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

We miss her funny little "Grannyisms" and her stories. She was a wonderful story teller.

Granny

Wow, it has been over a week since I visited here. So much has gone on that I can't remember all the details.

Granny is in her final days/hours of her life now. We have been giving her 24 hour care since last Friday. I am here at Mom's most of the day and then will do part of an overnight stay.

Grace is with Patty and Jake and is having a blast. I brought her over to see Granny before she went to Kearney. We took this picture of the three of us. Grace may be home tomorrow or by Sunday. I sure do miss her.

My cousin was here for a few days to help us and spend some time with Granny. I am so glad she came because it made it easier to divide the shifts into three. Miss you already Erica. She left yesterday afternoon and my aunt flew in last night. There is a chance some other family may come by the weekend.

Will try to update again soon.

We are the Champions X 2

Congratulations to the Fee's Middle School 2009 8th Grade Baseball Team.

Christopher and his team won the championship for their school second year in a row. It was an exciting game as we were down 0 to 5 in the 5th inning. Chris started the two out rally that had Fee's back in the game. After 6 innings we were still tied so they did some sort of play were a runner starts out on second base. We were able to score one run in the top of the 7th which won us the game.

Easter Weekend

We started the Easter weekend with an egg hunt inside. We had rain on Saturday. Didn't stop us. We went to Granny's and Mom's for cinnamon rolls and egg hunting!

The candy eating starts!!

Saturday night we were invited to a Flash Light Easter Egg Hunt! We had a potluck dinner and then hunting we went! Grace really enjoyed holding the flashlight. I wish I would have brought my camera.

Sunday we headed up to Kearney to spend the day with the Jacobson Family. We enjoyed a very yummy dinner and the company of all. Mitch wasn't feeling well and slept the day away, but Grace kept us entertained.

Grandma Jake had called us early Sunday and asked if Grace would stay with her until Thursday. I had to think about that for about....yeah, it was a no brainer. I miss her.
