Project Work Fair

Wow... The last two days have been really hectic... Ok, yesterday, our PW teacher (project work) told us that my group (the cybercafe/lan shop one), along with many others, was selected for the PW fair... And it was SOOOO last minute! Because the fair was the next day which is today... So, we set up our lil 'booth' in the movement gym (there were 42 grps altogether) and charged for the spot next to the powerpoints... Only me and Sean went for the briefing after school at Science Rm 1... And we were the ones who set up everything and decided what to do... Mark Khoo and Geran were slacking all the way... Mega free-riders grr... So yesterday, I was printing out the stuff like crazy, researching, burning (files into cd), printing pictures, gathering electrical equipment... Ok, so the plan was like that, we were gonna install quicktime on Sean's laptop, play the trailers (the WMA formats) and after sometime, change to the quicktime one and so on... Then we were gonna display PC games, PC gamer magazines and what not... We even planned on installing CS:CZ (Counter-Strike: Condition Zero) to let the viewers have a hands on of the game... It was gonna be PERFECT, well, the next day, it was FAR from it...

The movement gym was open early for us to get ready our stuff... Sean came with his laptop and I installed quicktime on his com from my thumbdrive. I played one of the videos and it was LAGGING like shit! It was almost impossible to view! The dialogue was perfect but the images were choppy... I cant even find a word to describe such... crappiness! His laptop had only 128 mb ram and win XP was installed. We all know that Win XP needs at least 256 MB of ram... Then Marc Khoo came along and I asked him to make himself useful by cutting out the pictures and pasting them on the whiteboard behind us... Sean and QX went to get another laptop from the science staff rm while I TRIED to free up RAM in hopes of making it better but of course, it was futile... Thankfully, they came back with another laptop... Same specifications but different OS... I managed to run the videos more smoothly than sean's com... I couldnt install quicktime, which was on my thumbdrive, 'cos with Win 98, you had to install drivers for any device you planned to use... Of course, I didnt have the drivers... So in the end, on the school's laptop, we only managed to play the Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow and the Sims 2 trailers... And that stupid laptop hanged like over 6 times! I have never EVER touched such a lousy com since my first com! YES! My pIII 800 mhz, 64 mb ram com is actually better than Sean's com... Sean's been desperately seeking out a new laptop since the start of the year...

We got quite a lot of votes from our class but after that, it was downhill... I counted the votes and we had like 39 which was pretty ok but the other groups (from the E band) had more... Then there was this guy, WJ, from A1, a prefect and he went around stealing votes... The prefects (most) in my school are pretty screwed up... So much for their 'fool-proof and perfect' selection program... Yea, so when I came back from school, i slept for like 6 hours... And I watched the '13 going on 30' DVD that duncan lent me before playing CS for an hour :D Now is like 11.27 and I think I'm gonna continue watching '13 going on 30'... I stopped halfway 'cos my brother barged in and while the movie was going into the part where little kiddies like him should not see...

Overindulgence

You see, I was reading this article on gamespot.com (as usual) and the author (Greg Kasavin, Executive Producer) was giving an analogy about rationing gameplay so that games these days (single player first person shooters especially) don't get finished too soon. It goes like this:

So I thought, 'Hey! At least the goldfish dies happy!' Look, the goldfish loves eating and that's why it eats up everything the owner gives and dies if the food isnt rationed (properly). But the goldfish dies doing what it likes! So I thought, " Doesn't that mean fat people die happy too? " Fat people stuff themselves with food (well some) and they die becuase of heart problems or choke to death. I know its painful but only for a few minutes, or if not, a few hours. I mean, what is a few hours compared to the joy they get from eating (which would be like everyday of their lives). What's a few minutes of pain compared to an eternity (their entire lives) of happines? And after that, they go on into the other world (heaven if they've been good) and enjoy the rest of their afterlives! And if you havent noticed, fat people are usually happier despite their physical ailments compared to other skinny people who tend to be a bit more grumpy at times... I'm not saying that skinny people cannot be happy and find their personal heaven... Some personal heavens are more difficult to find and some are not, but for fat people, their 'personal heaven' can be found anywhere!! At the supermarket, malls, wherever!

Fat people diet because they get dissed and laughed at by other people (skinny)... Those skinny people do so because they arent happy! They find joy in insulting others! But hey, at the end, the fat people are the happier ones! So think about it, do fat people die happier than skinny people?

Comex 2004!!! Mega crowded

Whee, I went down to suntec city (wif me mom n bro)... We decided to take public transport in case the same thing happened in the last PC show... The last time we went, it was at the Singapore Expo and the cars had to queue for parking... But today, the human traffic was just as bad... Had to alight at City Hall and walk all the way to Suntec.... My, was it long... And it was just so frickin' crowded...After like 30 mins of walking, we reached Suntec City convention centre!!! I breathed in the cool air-conditioned air of the mall letting it take over my body... Ok that was pure exaggeration but it sure felt better after being in the sun for 5 minutes :P So we followed the crowd and signs along the way to the Comex... More walking, escalator riding, more walking and more escalator riding and then there it was! The Comex 2004! The first part was the Xboxes... Lotsa xboxes! The microsoft booth was on the 3rd floor, there wasnt much on the 3rd floor so we went to the 4th floor. Now that was the real deal. It took up all the halls and my, was it huge and VERY, very crowded... Well, this time, there wasnt the brochure-in-your-face attitude with those people... They couldn't even be bothered to give us brochures, lol... First was the HP booth, it was REALLY big. The exhibition was really huge. There was the HP computers, pocket pcs, printers, digicams, and lots more. I think the entire HP booth ( if you even consider it a booth ) was like 1/8 of the entire convention! Then they had the Singtel booth, the various ISPs, creative technology was there, iRiver was there, lotsa farnee brand names were there too, some cheena ( its malay for 'chinese ) companies, olympus, nikon and many others I cant even remember. I dont think I saw Nokia however... We went around searching for the SanDisk booth even though I wasnt even sure it existed but we saw the big banner floating somewhere... Omg, it was so frickin crowded, its was rubbing shoulders with each other (literally)... And some people brought the baby strollers even though they had no baby! Sheesh! After 15 minutes of traversing the human jam and maze of booths, we found the SanDisk booth! Yay! I wanted to get the 256 MB thumb drive and we even had to queue just to PAY... Sheesh... My mum and bro were getting really pissed... And my bro (stupid lil kid) was getting restless and complaining that his legs were aching and his feet hurt... Sheesh, useless bum... He wanted to get out of here as fast as possible... So the last stop was the canon booth... My mum wanted to take a look at the prices and free stuff and bla bla bla... Then we were out of there...

And after that... Ok, no need to say anything after that, all the boring stuff... But I had Subway for dinner :D Mmm Mmm, all the wonderful veggies, terriyaki chicken and Parmesan Oregano bread... It was foot long of course...

And now, my 256 MB SanDisk Cruzer Micro Thumbdrive is plugged into my USB port with its backside glowing blue :D It has an encryption software and I was playing around with it. I encrypted and decrypted my file back and forth just for the hell of it! lol! Then I accidentally encrypted the encryption software! Lol! I like kinda panicked and thankfully, the SanDisk website provided a download of the encryption software. Lol! The blue LED light looks really cool! Haha, blue backside...

Adobe Photoshop and dance class!

Yay! After 5 lessons, we've finally finished Adobe Photoshop 7.0!!! And this is page 2 of the brochure I made from adobe... Its actually a very simple one, not much to show off its power. Page one was missing from my email inbox. The page one of my brochure had all the nice cool effects and stuff but too bad, don't know where it went... Its in the bowels of the hotmail server I guess... Well, I'll try to explain it a bit here... The background is actually a mix of two Splinter Cell pictures of Sam Fisher. Then there was some 'ripple' effect in the middle. At the bottom left hand corner, there was this picture of the Ixus I and above it (in big font) read 'Canon Ixus I'. And in smaller font read 'Used by the experts in the field of stealth. Endorsed by Sam Fisher.' lol! I know, it sounds really cheesy... Nik's one had a picture of a saddam hussein as the background and a picture of the Canon Ixus 500. It read, ' Even Hussein cant say no to the ixus 500!' and 'Yes!!! defintely!!!' lol! I've attached my brochure onto this post so you guys can view it.

And earlier on, before techno started, my music group went to FCS's classroom to learn the dance steps for Me Against The Music (britney spears). We had to dance for our music project (sadly)... Haha, and our choreographer was none other than Nik (not full name)... They teach dancing in Drama! Sheesh! I did better than Leonard :D Haha, he got pretty confused with all the dance moves! yay! I can dance! Woohoo!

No 2.4 2dae!

Waey hey hey!!! There wasnt any 2.4 rerun today! YAY!!! But I stayed in school for nothing... Sheesh... The run was at 4.20 PM and I stayed in the sch library until like 3.30 when I got a call from my tuition teacher. She told me that there I had tuition in abt like 10 minutes... So I was half-overjoyed (that I didnt have to run) and half-woried and confused ('cos I didnt know that there was tuition today...) So I thought, MAYBE I could skip this... I went to the PE department and talked to Mr Lai... After some bargaining and debating and 'discussion', I cancelled my tuition and (sadly) had to go for the 2.4... While Mr Lai and his colleague, Freddie, were busy getting their stuff, they showed us a Happy Tree Friends clip... Man! That was a side I've never seen before... 'Ya know, teachers arent really that mean and FOS... They can be quite fun sometimes when their in the right mood and at the right place... After we were done, we (me, Nik, Mr Lai and Freddie) crossed the overhead bridge to the other side to take a bus to CCAB. Mr Lai was even humming the Happy Tree Friends tune! And when we got to the other side, he suggested that we take a taxi and split the cost... I mean, how many teachers are THIS kind and friendly to you... It amazing I swear... Whole new side of him... Yea ok, and along the way, I was telling him that it was gonna RAIN!!! And he wouldnt buy it even after I showed him the weather report on my phone (GPRS)... So we eventually got to CCAB and there were already lotsa people (2.4 re-runners) already there! I was telling Mr Lai that it was going to RAIN and he kept saying that this morning, it had rained enough and it wouldnt happen. But did he listen? Nooooo.... ( "Somehow I told you so, didn't quite say it" - Will Smith, 'I,Robot' " ) That was what I was thinking when it started to pour... Before that, I didnt change out of school uniform into PE attire, I told him that I didnt have to 'cos it was gonna RAAEIIINNN but I was compelled to... *sigh* He kept holding on to the last moment until it really DID rain cats and dogs... He thanked and apologised to everyone who came and so, we all came for nothing... But the best part was we didnt have to run at all!!! WoooHoooo!!!

And today in school, the teachers revealed this term's CA marks and I made a tremendous improvement over the last semester. From 47 to 80.4 for MATHS!!! WOOHOO!!! And in science, from 50 (on the dot) to 64.5!!! Oh yeah! Hope this continues to keep up and hopefully next year, I can stay in A2...

September is a bad month...

Why is September a bad month? Well, first of all, its a month where a hole in my pocket is gonna be burnt right through... And secondly, Im gonna be VERY distracted instead of studying for a very critical End Of Year streaming exams. Why? Simply because, The Sims 2, Half-Life 2 and Star Wars Battlefront AND Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 are all being released in September! Omg... Im in such a dilemma... Assuming that each of them are 60 bucks each (and most likely will be), that would be 240 bucks spent in 1 month just on games... And if I do buy 'em and play instead of study, im gonna go to a really bad class next year and a very bad stream...

So anyway, these few months/weeks/days, my body 'exhaust' hasnt been working very well in the morning... I mean, I just walk up 2 stories or even 1 story and I sweat like KERRAZZZEEE! The front of my shirt would be drenched! Its like I have to be in an aircon room or at least right under a fan for me not to sweat that much... Its crazy... If you guys know whats happening, do tell, I'd feel more comfortable when I'm dry... Come to think of it, when I stopped using the Dove, Dry deo, this started to happen... Hmmm...

During techno ,this afternoon, before the Adobe Photoshop course started, we were allowed to surf the net while the trainers arrived and while they were teaching... So I checked out David's blog and I checked out all the other people's blogs he linked... And I read lotsa ppl's blogs that I never they had... Oh forget it, Im not gonna type stuff that arent meant to be here...

yawn...its a monday...

What a great way to start the day innit... First period, Geog... Nah, not the bullshit that Alexis Ho creates but the test that really sucked... Thats what I thought at first but hey! It wasnt that bad... The test really wasnt THAT bad... Its was pretty ok... Then after that was science... He said he messed up his class and wanted us to clean it up during recess... Not that it mattered but he still wouldnt give us a l8 note 'cos the teacher of the next period wouldnt let us in unless we had a late note... Its not as if it was my fault that I had to pester him to sign the CMR... Then after that, the next period... Climbed to 5th level, then had to go down cos Mr Chan wanted monitors 2 update the attendance (there was a major accident ya see...) Then I had to run all the way up and I realised my nose was bleeding... Then during recess, S&W... The trainer wouldnt let us off and kept making us exercise... Omg... D&T was much much better.... Although at the end of it, my hands were coated with liquid polyester resin and the colouring... I had to use thinner to get it out which stinked like *bliP* And even after 10 mins of using thinner and soap, it still wouldnt come off.... So anyway, after that, I went down to the D&T level to find Garrett to give him the BFV patch and WW2 cd... He was with leonard and KY and they frickin backstabbed me into going up on stage, during assembly, on friday and make a speech... I have no choice but to comply...

Monday blues... Really..

Back to school already...

Sigh... End of the weekends soo soon... And the worse part is, this week, I would have to run 2.4 on wenesday at CCAB (whatever that stands for)... Hasnt been any eventful these few days... Life can be soo boring sometimes... And tomorrow, theres a geog test. I'm trying to memorize the entire drawing of the incinerator and landfill and all the procedures and crap... *sigh*

Well, nothing much happened the past few days... Played CS (as usual) and I downloaded this Battlefield Vietnam WWII Mod! It was from EA, the official developer and publisher of BFV. They ported some 3 maps from Battlefield 1942 to BFV which had better graphics and physics and could render better trees and greenery... So the vegetation is much much lush and GREEN. Sure, there have been other WWII mods from other gamers out there but this one is from the experts! The creators of this game have decided to make use of BFV engine to reproduce popular maps of BF 1942! How many mods these days are created by the developers themselves... Ok, some new additions are the planes, flamethrower kit, more kits, more vehicles, more BF tunes and the new maps... The maps are basically invasions... The USA vs the Japanese.. One of them is trying to take over this island or something. One starts on this huge ship and the other starts on the island itself. So its basically invasion and defending the island. The kits are pretty much the same in BF 1942. But since I do not have the pleasure of owning BF 1942, they were pretty much new to me... Theres the Thompson, m1 Garand, some No4 sniper rifle and some other stuff.

And I also finished 'The Supernaturalist' book... After 1 month... Its a really good book... Go buy it... Its really cool... I'm not spoiling anything so go check it out urself. It really rox! You won't regret it... Trust me... Its a mix of genres, its mostly sci fi, some drama and a tinge of romance (kissing included) :D So go get it!

Right now, Im currently waiting for these few games... Well, few would be an understatement actually... Here goes: Half-Life 2, SW battlefront, SW KOTOR 2, SW Republic Commando, Sims 2 (maybe, I dunno), NFS UD 2, The movies (not sure), Guild Wars, F.E.A.R (not sure too) and some others that I cant remember. Well, gd nite ppl...

Well, what's included in this game is the maps from Battlefield 1942 which has been ported over to BFV which has a better graphic and physics engine. So the maps have more denser and thicker foliage and, with BFV's engine which can render much better looking grass and trees, make the jungles of the maps look MUCH better.There are also new skins and new weapons, all from Battlefield 1942 and also some new planes!

So anyway, I slept a WHOLE lot today... Woke up at about 10.30+ watched some TV, played CS then went back to sleep at around 3+ and woke up at 7 plus!
Haha! Im a mega sleepy head... Wonder how Im gonna sleep 2nite! I've been dreaming a lot more often these days! Very weird dreams in fact... Some I'm not gonna say (cos it concerns teachers...) Yea but I remember something about having to make some photograph better and something about digital photography.... Hmm... Very weird I swear...

HE Grenade Explosion and barrles flying

Ok, I played CS: Source beta last nite and I didnt have a chance to share it here... Well, Source overall, is quite ok actually. I didnt really managed to get the entire feel out of it 'cos the only map was de_dust and after all, this IS a beta... First of all, about the picture... As you can see, barrels DO fly away now (more lifelike now)... And when you shoot the barrels, the do knock over and you can also run towards them to knock them over too... Theres also some kinda particle effect. So when you shoot the sand, you can see the dust kicking up and all the bullet holes in the walls. The smoke from the smoke grenade also looks much better. From far, the smoke looks really dense and you cant see a single thing, but when you're very near the smoke, it becomes more transparent. The really cool thing I like abt CS:S is the flashbang! Its amazing! You get shell-shocked... Your screen goes completely white and theres this ringing sound... Those who play Call of Duty should know :D And right after that, as the images start to form, the images stay in your vision and blurs it a bit. Its kinda like getting flashed when you're a merc in Pandora Tomorrow. Its kinda hard to explain. I forgot to take a screenshot of that (and I was like flashing myself a hundred times for fun, just to see the effect). Did I mention that the HE grenade also takes away your hearing (theres a ringing sound effect) if it explodes too close to you? Yea, but I think they've also decreased the damage of the HE grenade. I threw it at my feet and when it exploded, it only did like 40 damage compared to 80-90 in CS 1.6! And also, theres lotsa 'crap' littered around the map like drink bottles, cartons, car tires, engines and all that crap. And they DO NOT break up or anything. No matter how much you shoot, it will not be riddled with holes. It just simply flys off like who phsyics would definte it if you shot it with a gun. Also on the topic of phsyics is RAGDOLL phsyics. Its REALLY kewl! When a grenade goes off and kills someone, that guy flys off too :D And say you get killed next to a wall, your body does not fall INTO the wall like in the previous CSes... Your body gets slumped over and looks pretty lifeless. Reminds me of Chucky :S And another effect is that you can still squeeze out blood from the bodies. When the corpse remains behind and you shoot it, it reacts like how it should. Its flinches and blood squirts out. Shooting the head makes it fly from side to side but it still doesnt come off :( Aww :( Well, you cant expect much from a T-rated game can you... Heads flying off...

Theres also this bench-marking tool inside the game. It takes you through this test level with all the water and fire and lighting effects and bump-mapping and anti-aliasing then it calculates your average frames per second. I got a pathetic 18 BUT playable FPS. Thats how sucky my ATI Radeon 9200 is... *sigh* The water didnt look as good as the one I saw in the trailers. In the Half-Life 2 trailers (go check it out), the water looked more smooth and well, watery! But on my computer, the water looked like... Electricity! The edges were really 'sharp' even though it animated rather well...

One or two gripes... First of all, I noticed that it takes like half a second before the barrel toppels over when I shoot it. Number 2, this beta is riddled with BUGS! I've noticed textures missing when I go closer to it. From far, it looks PERFECTLY FINE, but as I get nearer and nearer, it just fades away... Not that it matters much or takes the fun out of it but it seems as if my com is screwy... These textures like posters that ARE supposed to already be there and bullet holes and the blackening of a wall after an explosion... These don't stay there until I move a bit. There's also some clipping issues. When people stand on slopes,the models are parallel to the sky not the slope, so it looks like they're floating above the ground. Another irritating issue is the loading time. It takes like 5x more time to load a server than in the normal CS 1.6!

The models also look a bit 'stiff' and in need of more polygons... They just dont look nice... And also, the first time I tried to join a server, it crashed... There are no Singaporean servers and the one with the lowest latency (60-70 plus) was in TAIWAN! And all the servers had no anti-cheat. And they were like so damn 'tyco'... My score was pathetic! Ratio was something like 1:6!!! It was partly due to the lag, or maybe due to the server's lack of protection from cheaters or maybe it was just because Taiwanese ARE PRO!!! Oh and before I forget, the gun models and gun sounds have changed, well most of them... The deagle and scout still sound the same but almost everything else has changed. The silence carbine sounded too loud for my liking... And they removed the shield from this one too but they let you pick up the grenades off dead bodies like in CZ.

And to make this one of my longest posts... Napfa test 2.4 is tomorrow!!! Egad! Well, its a retest actually... Running 2.4km is horrible for someone like me... It wouldnt be a surprise if I fail anyway... But since there's gonna be more retests to come, I've decided to skip tomorrow's and go for the one next wenesday in the afternoon. I would rather run in the afternoon than wake up at 6.30AM plus on a SATURDAY! And its at the Bishan stadium which is pretty far from where I stay so transportation is another negative factor... My mornings are reserved for sleeping man! I wake up so frickin early even before the sun is up for 5 days straight in a row a week and now I cant even enjoy my weekend... This is crap! But wth man, im not going tomorrow so I can stay up late 2nite and chill...

2 mins and counting to CS: Source beta!!!

Alrite!!! 2 minutes more (if everything goes well) and I would be beta-testing Source!! Right now, as I type this, Im getting closer and closer to it... I cant wait Oooh I just cant wait! Nothing 2 post abt today 'cept that I played CS and was real tyco, trashing every1 in de_rats :D A'well..

Oh yeah! Steam is up!

Ok good, steam is finally up! And the best part is, I cant frickin play CS: S beta YET! I've preloaded about 40% so far and it has allowed me to play (by clicking 'Play Game') but its still UPDATING!!! Its taking a frickin loong time to frickin update and I have like anotehr 300 megs to go!! Arhhh!! Ok singapore idol is on at 8pm so I'm gonna play CS until then and see whether Source beta works after it ends... A'well... 'Waiting, everyday of our lives'

Shit! Cant login 2 steam! SHIT

ARGH!!!!! WHY!!! I cant get into steam!! NOOOOooooOOOO!!! Its gonna take a while before I actually get to beta source! It keeps telling me that either steam is down or there's something wrong with my internet connection. I checked the steam website, www.steampowered.com, and it frickin says its ONLINE!!!

ALRITE BEH BEH!!!! CS: S beta pre loads today!!! Whoopiee!!! But it's only gonna be playable on thursday (time anomaly between SG and US) :( And also only when it has finished pre-loading 366 megabytes!!! And 'coz this is Steam and not high-speed FTP Fileplanet, its gonna take a LOOOOOOONG time...

And today, for the first time in 4 weeks, there's no techno on this week's tuesday!!!

I really really cant wait for this tuesday!!! Oooh I cant wait... And also today, something weird happened to MSN Messenger... There were 2 messenger (icons) when my com started up and then I closed one of them which resulted in BOTH of them being closed... Nooo! No CS:S

Argh!!!! At current time of posting (4.30pm+), there is NO Counter-Strike: Source on the Steam Servers... At first, I thought it was some glitch or one reason or another but I realised... Its in the dead of the frickin nite in the US!!! Ahhh!!! This is bad, very bad... Very bad indeed... So I have to wait till tomorrow if I want it... *Sigh* Time waits for no man, we wait for time... Well sometimes...

Ok anyway, today... Me, ben lee and reldon went for Eric Loh's sci remedial :( It was a frickin waste of time, we had to wait for about an hour while mista' Loh settled some stuff with lam... So in the mean time, we were dying of boredom and me and ben lee conspired against reldon ;) :D Reldon was like wasting away his deoderant spray and he was telling us about how Samuel Lee (another guy) would spray deo down his pants (and further beyond? I dun wanna noe) So we plotted to do the same on reldon :D Reldon got pretty paranoid as me and ben lee were whispering into each other's ears about the plan and we were like looking at reldon in such an evil way that he went to keep away the deo, not in his bag but inside his shirt! lol! After a few failed attempts, we finally managed to spray the deo in reldon's pants and you should've seen the look on his face!!! LMAOROFLPMP!!! But Eric Loh arrived in class saving reldon in the nick of time... *Damn!* Did I mention that the deo was VERY cold if sprayed excessively :D Ben lee thought reldon was strong 'cos he managed to wrestle out of my grip but that time, I tried another technique which worked pretty well and reldon could only squiggle and squirm as Ben Lee sprayed it up his pants! Mwahhahaha, it was really funny... If only it was taped!!! Arrrhhh!!! Haha, its gonna be on my mind for the next few days or so!

A monday that I look forward to :D

Mwahahah! What a day... I weighed myself this morning and when I came back at 8.45, I weighed myself again and gained 2 kgs! This afternoon, me and my cousin (+ auntie and uncle and grand uncle) went to some Dim Sum restaurant in Toa Payoh (cos my grand uncle lives near there) cos it was my grand uncle's birthday (lol) yeah then we went shopping... We went to cd-rama and I got this new compilation album, BIG. It had a really huge hamburger... It said something about all the biggest hits and stuff but thats like 90% true cos I've NEVER EVER heard of the track 'I'm loving it - Justin Timberlake' yea but wth... Then after that, we went to my cousin's house stayed there until like before dinner time then we went to Changi Airport for dinner... They stay really near there so it was like a 5 min drive... A what a feast we had at Sakae Sushi! Mwahah... 18 plates of sushi and 1 unagi bento set :D I doubt my dinner has gone down my gullet :D Thankfully there's PE tmr, gotta work off all those extra pounds :D

Ok abt today's title... Tomorrow, monday, Counter-Strike: Source beta pre-loads on Steam!!!!! WOOOOOHOOOOOOOOO!!! I cant wait I cant wait ooh i just cant wait!!! But I have 1) Techno meeting 2) Sci remedial 3) MR meeting tomorrow so I wont be home until like 4 or 5 :S And I still havent watched the Neon Genesis Evangelion DVD Duncan lent me... Haiz... So much to do just TOO little time... Time is always not on our side... ALWAYS.... Friday the 13th!

Its Friday the 13th! DUN DUN DUN DUN!!! I couldnt update me blog yesterday 'coz I came home from school at 11pm... And I had to go to school today so after bathing, I went to bed... So today's entry will be for yesterday's and today's :D

Ok... Lets see... Shanghai Nite... The culprit of my lack of sleep... I had to stay back till 10.45 pm (I left early)... It was scheduled to end at 11pm... Wtf! The school is ****ed up! Making us stay back till 11pm... I wouldnt mind if it was saturday the next day but i still had to go 2 the next day! Shanghai Nite was a fund-raising dinner for my school... Priced at 300 bucks per person, defintely for the really RICH (CAPITAL R.I.C.H) people... But of all themes, it had to be SHANGHAI... So during the dinner, there were theses 'Chinese hostesses' who were singing and dancing, in Chinese of course... Oh yah, and before the entire thing started, we were having this 'photoshoot'... We 'techno' guys take your picture in some backdrop and we print in instantly... 8 bucks for 1 picture and 15 bucks for 2... So there was this (very rich and plump) woman... She asked to have her picture taken and she wasnt exactly pretty or anything... Kinda ugly actually... *Think fat evil stepsister* After it was printed, she went to show her friends and they were all " Wahh so pretty " i was like "You gotta be kidding me -.-" And she was also fussing over which one was sharper... Sheeesh...

Then the show started and some guy from the VIP table came up and sang... Huge ego I tell ya... I was up on the balcony with KJ recording the whole thing and we purposely (and also due to the fact that we were running out of tape and battery) missed his part. Then came the worst part... The auction... That auctioneer guy was so FOS... One of the items on auction was this Canon Ixus I, retailing at $550... So he was ranting about it going below cost... It started at 400 bucks and closed at 780... When it reached retail price, he started bullshitting about those people doing it for the school and all that shit... And the wine bottles... He was like " Very cheap! 500 for 10 bottles, 50 dollars for one and less than a dollar for one glass " and I was like " Can I buy a glass?" I wouldt mind... Less than a dollar for a glass of wine... But this was going by the hundreds! And the jewelry didnt manage to get any bids... 17k,9k and 7k... 17k, I could like start a LAN shop with it... O'course no one wanted it... I left half way during the auctions and trust me, the school is SCARY in the night... Its like they're that poor that they cant turn on the frickin lights... Its pitch black and you cant see shit when you're at the lower levels (like the D&T level)... So after all that, I slept at about 11.30...

Then woke up at 6am :S... Of course, I was soo damn tired and everyone (who went last nite) were as equally, if not more, tired... 6 hours of sleep aint enough! I had tuition in the afternoon and I slept right after that till dinner time and I was surfing the net n chatting while I was typing this... Going back to sleep soon...

Told you it was long...

Today was REAL long... First day of the school (of the week) and I get to go home at 6pm! Well isnt that nice :D (With lotsa sarcasm)... I'm like damn tired now... Gah! I just wish Half Life 2 would just pop up right in front of me... Well that aint my number 1 wish its actually..... Er.. never mind...

So anyway, what happened today... Hmm... I remember Alexis Ho's class :D Haha, he never fails to make us life and his jokes are so FOS and corny but wth... This afternoon, we had some techno meeting and we had to charge the camera batteries... Oh yah, this goes on to make me complain about the only negative point about technology... Its POWER! Everything thing's power! Cameras need batteries, computers need power... They die out if there's no POWER... Ok, so anyway, that stupid Garrett took a pic of me pointing both middle fingers at him :P Well, I thought it was enough to block the lenses but it wasnt... So we ended up wif this pic of me, my face in the centre and my 2 middle fingers at the sides :D Haha, so he uploaded it into the coms and sent it to his email! Well of course, I tried to stop him and tried to get the CF card, USB cable, and whatnot but he still managed to get it *DAMN!* I mean wtf... Yea like wadeva... Its gonna be interesting how he uses it to 'blackmail' me ;) But it was really funny while it lasted...

Arh! Tomorrow's gonna be an EVEN LONGERRRRRRRRR day... I'll be in school till 10 or 11 pm... Wtf! I mean friday is a friggin school day! We have to sleep man! Argh... But what to do :S :( And I still have homework to do!!! Grr... Im gonna copy the answers from the back of that book that SYY made us do...

But hey, on the bright side (after all the darkness, its quite difficult to spot the bright side), Singapore Idol is in like less than an hour! Haha, cant wait to see how Singaporeans embarass themselves with their bad singing! HAHA

Wenesday blues :S

Boohooohoohooo :( Back to school in less than 12 hrs :( Well, school isnt THAT bad actually, its the waking up that really sux! Like last week, this week is gonna be pretty eventful... Even though its short... Theres some techno meeting tomorrow and I have to go for some Shanghai Night thingy... Im the stupid T.Club camera man (see, gift and a curse)... Haiz... I really don't wanna go... I got a life man... I have to study ya noe... And like play CS :D

Woke up at 10 AM today, again... Yea and played CS for some parts of the afternoon, then finished my warcraft book and my Horrible Science: Painful Poison book... Today was kinda weird too... I was feeling hungry even after eating alot... I felt kinda sick too :( Hmm, see what Monday Blues (or in this case, Wenesday blues) do to you... Oh...

As usual, waiting and waiting... Waiting everyday of my life... Waiting for Halflife 2... Waiting for Splinter Cell 3... Waiting for Star Wars: Battlefront / Republic Commando and KOTOR 2... And waiting and waiting and waiting... ZzzZzz

NDP & I,Robot

Happy National Day!!! This morning was boring.... I woke at about 1030 (again) then watched TV till 2 or 3... Surfed the net for awhile, ask around what the homework was then tried to finish my warcraft bk...

Then the fun started... I went to watch I,Robot with my dad and bro... I give it 4/5 stars!!! And Will Smith was really good... Ya noe, movies with Will Smith always have some kind of humour but he never fails to keep the atmosphere full of action and doesnt stray too much from the storyline... My only gripe is the CGI parts. You know the part where they go around searching in the robot factory and one of the robots glances at him... You can actually see some kind of white outline on their body... Its pretty obvious that the background is CGI, that green screen thingy... Haha, the most memorable homourous scene was when the CEO of the robot company was criticising Will. Will sneezes and says "I'm sorry, I'm allergic to bullshit" The whole cinema erupted in laughter :D Its a real nice movie... Riding alongside the Matrix Reloaded genre, its part sci-fi, part action, small part humour...

Then after that, after dinner and whatever insignificant happens inbetween, we returned home and watched NDP on TV... Ya' noe, I seriously cant find anything special or great about NDP... Its the same routine EVERY year... March march march, sing sing sing, colour colour colour, fireworks fireworks fireworks, pledge and mari kita (national anthem)! Well, the only thing special WORTH mentioning is that this NDP would be PM Goh Chok Tong's last NDP as the Prime Minister... Yah but who cares man...

But the BEST part of today was SINGAPORE IDOL!!! Wahaha... It was more a comedy than a reality TV show... What's wrong with the blardee producers man, they show all the bad and lousy people who make a fool of themselves... There were only like 3 or 4 good ones that they showed... How reality is reality TV? But it was really good and funny while it lasted... Haha, be sure to catch Singapore Idol on Chn5 this wenesday!

Best Sunday Ever?

Wow...What a day it has been... My first entry that I'm writing right before I sleep... Just came back from Linette's house yea...

Ok, lets see... Went to church today then went to United Square right after that. We were invited to Linette's brother's birthday so we went to the Toys 'R' Us to get a toy. My mum wanted to get some puzzle game but I convinced my mum to get the new Lego Bionicle toy... Hmm, like my birthday or something... Then after that, we went to the San Bookshop and there on 'display' was the latest/newest/most recently published Horrible Science book, Painful Poison! Woow! Uh oh, 'Hermione Granger' Syndrome acting up again... Ya noe' sometimes I feel like Hermione, getting so fascinated with bks and doing all my homework... But thats another thing.. I couldn't update my blog in the afternoon 'cos I was busy playing CS :D Have to practice every once in awhile or else I'm gonna become 'rusty' Then at about 5.30, we left for Linette's house... It was actually her brother's birthday, no reason why I should be there... It was meant for my brother actually... But wth man, Justin went anyway...

Well, it was kinda boring actually... All the little kiddies were running around and playing and shooting each other in the ass lol... So, me, justin and linette were just talking and talking and talking and listening to the radio until it was time for dinner then we watched some TV then played some computer games (internet games) Yea, then was about it...

*Yawn* Damn tired, gotta go sleep.... But have to brush my teeth, apply some acne cream b4 i got to bed... ZzzZzz *snorezzz* ZzzZzz

HL2 & Doom3

Finally! Its a Saturday!!! I woke up @ 10 today watched some tv then slept @ 12.30 until about 2.30! Lol, then I went out and here I am typing... I bought hair wax just now 'cos my hair was starting to look like crap but it isnt so much of a big deal rite...

With the release of Doom3, I've read 2 reviews about it so far... 1 from PC Gamer and the other from gamespot... PC Gamer rates it 94% while gamespot gives it 8.5 (which is 85% for those who suck at math)... Why the not-so-good review from gamespot? Well, first of all, I belive that Doom3 is a kind of an old school shooter. It was a remake of the original Doom back in the 90s so by now, its pretty old school... Its just run around in the dark, use flashlight, shoot anything that jumps out at you from the dark and repeat the entire process... I mean, if I wanted this kinda gameplay, I would rather go get Painkiller or Farcry, maybe even Halo! Gamespot belives that gameplay is a much more important aspect, as earlier mentioned. And the graphics, even though just as important, is secondary to the gameplay. The gameplay became rather repetitive and most of the time, it was too dark to appreciate the game's graphics anyway... It's kind of ironic actually... I mean, the graphics are for you to check out but its too damn dark and even if you wanted to hang around and ogle at the graphics, you'll soon be attacked by creatures from hell (literally)... Doom3 was overhyped... But PC Gamer seems to contrast gamespot's review... The only bad point that PC Gamer offered was it's bad humour! lol! I mean c'mon, its a game, who cares about humour! Other than that, PC gamer was praising Doom3 about it's graphics and sound and atmosphere and why-you-should-upgrade-and-get-that-new-video-card-and-that-dolby digital 5.1-now... In case you dinnoe what a dolby digital 5.1 is, its a sound system that places speakers all around you to get you fully immersed in the atmosphere, mostly tense and scary... Yup, in case you havent realised until now, Doom3 is scary...

The story goes like this: You're this guy (forgot his name) and its the year 2156 (or something like that)... You're on some Mars spacestation and its your first day on the job... Well, its not long before all hell breaks loose, literally... Some reminiscence-of-half life-catastrophe occurs and the entire station gets plunged into darkness... Everyone else becomes zombies and whatnot and only you and some other guy survives... So for the rest of the game, you go around staying alive and the other guy, some captain, guides you along...

Im defintely not gonna buy Doom3 'cos 1: Its scary... Its dark everywhere and all those monsters from hell... Im gonna get nightmares man! Yep, im a wuss... Go watch the exorcist if you're that brave than play Doom3 with the lights off... 2: My com most likely won't be able to play Doom3 well... I only have a Radeon 9200! It wont be able to generate such graphics or even play it at a high framerate... and lastly, 3: Im a halflife supporter :D

Well, I can only hope that HalfLife2 doesnt turn out to be a flop like Doom3 is with gamespot... But on the average, if you calculate, 94+85 then divide by 2 = 89.5! The average score for D3 is 89.5 which is quite good actually... Halflife2 received an 80+ score from PC Gamer like last year... But due to the HL2 code theft, Sierra/Valve decided to postpone the release... One of the gripes was that it had basically the same guns and secondary uses... I hope that they improve on this and by the time they're done, HL2 scores better than Doom3... *Crosses fingers* Gdluck HL2, for now, I can only wait till September/October

NDP and the Time Capsule

My, what a LOOOOOOOOOOONG (x1000) day it has been... Instead of going home @ 10 (u guys be thxful!) I had to stay until 5pm+!!! I'd rather be sitting in the hot sun at the tennis courts and watching the parade and the SCDF wadeva-performance thingy than WORK WORK WORK... First of all, we T.Club people had to go and record the entire parade on the Canon MVI700i or something like that (courtesy of Canon)... We watched the whole boring parade from lvl 3/4 and lvl 5... Then halfway, that was when things started to go wrong... Our camcorder ran out of battery... Daniel and KJ ran all the way down to the D&T studio (4/5 stories) to get the DC adapter, after running all the way back up again, we realised that they grabbed the wrong one lol... Then they ran all the way back down to get the correct one which they did... They connected it to the water cooler socket and we only managed to record bits n pieces of the parade from a weird angle (due to the length of the adapter wire) and even then, from the position which we were recording, people had to limbo past the taut wire to get past us lol... Most of the time, Daniel was recording the parade. But with great luck, I was the one who recorded those who fainted in the parade :D We also had 2 camera crews (clifford n daniel seet) who went around taking pics of the UYOs...

Right after that, we all went back down to the D&T studio. Whee, finally! Aircon!!! Some say that greatest invention! Back there, we were all wrapping up everything... Charging the horribly pathetic batteries and compiling the pictures. N Mr See was like damn pissed, ticking us off and scolding the others... Somebody woke on the wrong side of bed today... Mr see wanted us to save the pics in the CF Cards to a CD... Leonard went to get the laptop but we could not use it because of the OS (Win98) which needed drivers for it to work... After lotsa crap (connecting the laptop to the internet to download the driver, then downloading the latest windows Service Pack), it didnt work in the end... What a bloody waste of time! Sheesh! We then used the D&T studio's computers (which were windows XP) and we managed to get it done... We=Daniel Lee & Daniel Seet & Me... Haha, 2 Daniels sandwiching me :p

Ok, so after that, we had like 1 and a half hrs to burn... We went to Waffle Town for lunch and we saw Michael See n his wife!!! Haha, what luck!!! Then we bought lunch for leonard and KJ...

After they finished eating, we had to get ready for the Time Capsule thingy... Haha, armed with my A80, I started taking pictures of that gaping hole in the ground where the time capsule was supposed to be placed it... And guess what, the time capsule was SQUARE...A square in a circle
-.- sheesh... Then the VIPs and guests started coming in... I was supposed to 'shoot' them signing the guest list and I dinnoe it was upstairs, at the drama theatre... Haiz...

After that, it was damn blardee hectic... I went around shooting pics, then running down to get them printed then back again... Then everyone started to crowd around the time capsule area while the guests and principals were 'checking' out the stuff that they were going to put inside the time capsule... While 'shooting' those guests, my frickin camera ran out of juice!!! Arghhhhh!!! So I ran all the way down to get whatever I shot printed... Since there was no battery, KJ borrowed Clifford's batteries to get mine printed... omg... Did it feel like eternity! We printed and printed and printed... The stupid printer took so damn blardee long to print out each photo! It really felt like some newsroom! Mrs Tan was rushing us to print out the photos that were just taken to put into the time capsule... Since my photos were 'outdated', Mr See made me take more pictures of the blardee event... They were already sealing up the blardee time capsule which I had to snap pics of... So much rushing around... Bah! Im just glad its over... We still had to come to school tomorrow for a debrief(saturday)! Of course im not going! Why should I come to school just for 20 blardee minutes and go home right after that... HELL NO, MAN! And I'm also to go for the 2.4km run retest but of course, im not going... Hey! I mean im so damn tired after today, and its a SATURDAY damit... Saturdays are for sleeping till noon! And now, im like typing all this just for the helluvit...Even tho im so bloody tired... A'well...Good nite guys

Im feeling hot alrite... Ar... Singapore is too damn hot! Bah, we all know that now don't we... Im too lazy to turn on the aircon anywayz... So screwed! Theres a math test tomorrow and I was sleeping and playing CS (after that) instead of studying! I cant even remember the chapters that I need to study! Egad! Better study now.. Whatever I can remember... Its just an ordinary day so nothing much to say... Yada yada yada yada...

Tuesday T!re|)ne$s

Slept kinda late last night so I was quite sleep the whole day... *yawnz* But anyway, I still managed to keep up the record :D I didn't fall asleep during class ;) Marc Seah gave me this website with some CS movies. They're made from flash and are kinda funny (somewhat). The website is www.blackmaze.com go check it out. And also check out the nintendo DS and the Sony PSP. They're coming out sometime l8r and I bet they're gonna cost more than a nuclear bomb! Last I heard, PSP was gonna retail for abt 600 or 700 US... Nintendo DS, if i remember right, was gonna retail for about 2 or 3 hundred US bucks... You can check out more from www.gamespot.com and www.gamespy.com Whee, cant wait for both of em... Monday b!us

Bah! Duncha just hate mondays... Back to school so damn soon... Haiz... Im like so damn tired, I almost fell alseep during class, but to keep the record, I had to keep myself awake. Then when school ended, there was some trouble. SYY didnt sign the CMR for assembly. She only signed MT but not the one at the TOP. Heh, Ben and me wanted to forge the signature but thought better of it... So we decided to go to MA Rm5 and tell the prefects on duty (CMR). But guess what, there were NO prefects, they all went for some meeting at the concert hall/drama theatre... Bah, so in the end, we just arrowed the signature from MT to Assembly... Nothing else we could do anyway... Then right after that, we had sci remedial... After waiting for like 30 minutes, then did Eric Loh arrive... And there were only TWO (2) of us in the sci class... Sheesh... Bleaurgh... And here I am ranting about today just for the helluvit...

Imminent monday blues :S

Damn! Im 14 more hours away from waking up groggily and hating the next few hours... The weekends are over too damn soon! Why!!!! Im so sleepy. But i cant sleep or else I would'nt be able to fall asleep 2nite and ill be even more tired and lethargic tomorrow morning. But on the positive side, i got PC Gamer's September issue today :D and Lime and 2 other books (from MPH) namely, The Supernaturalist by Eoin Colfer and The Armor of Light by Thomas L and Boey M.H. Its the first part of a trilogy set after the death of King Arthur. Its a fantasy novel with mages, spellcasters and swordsman. Lotsa reading to do... Have to finish up my Warcraft: War of the Ancients trilogy, The Well of Eternity. I'm only half way through it. No time to read :S Still have lotsa homework to do but thxfully, they're due the day after... Whee, and I also bought a new deo, some gatsby ice note thingy... Makes u feel cool (literally) when you're really hot (literally, as in temperature hot, warm). Was receiving complaints about the nivea one... Bah, sunday afternoons sux... Cos you just get that horrible feeling of dread when you're just 12-18 hrs away from going back to sch.... And sundays are for u to finish up your homework :S
