This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is "tag you're it" - use a tag on your project somewhere...I had this tag in some left over kit supplies and so is the end of this doily...the cupcakes are the end of a package of puffies that I bought ages ago (and still wish I had bought the whole rack of them because they are fur)...the papers are scraps...Play along, won't you?

#21 - at the movies
This week's challenge at the Opus Gluei is "at the movies" - making a project inspired by a movie...I have had this Marilyn stamp for quite a while now and not had an opportunity to use it...but I thought it was so cute that I had to get it anyway, so today was the perfect opportunity to dip her in some ink!

#20 - celebrate
this week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to use your oldest paper....my craft room is inundated with paper...probably 10,000 sheets of an assortment and array of thicknesses and colours and textures and sizes....there is soo much there...I am trying really hard to plow through some of that while not buying new stuff (doesn't always go so well, but I am trying ;)...my favorite old paper is definitely the Chatterbox brand of paper...there is just something about the colours and thickness that I llooovvvee beyond any other paper company...I have hoarded this paper and used it sparingly over the years, so I felt this was the perfect challenge to crack out a new page, when, lo and behold, I found enough SCRAPS to do this card...didn't even have to sacrifice any new papers in this project (the best kind ;)...so pull out those oldies and show us what you've got!

#19 - very superstitious
This weeks challenge at Anything But a Card is to do something superstitious, with the number 13, to do with gambling, luck etc or 13 embellishments.....after a long week of trying, unsuccessfully, to buy a new house (the address was 132, we put our offer in on 13 2 13) and tried to close on Valentine's day to no success, what could be more appropriate than a superstition challenge??? Thought I would try something with a positive result - our winning race at the local racetrack ( we won a whopping $8 on our $2 bet - my girls were jumping for joy)....hoping that good mojo work for us when we try again next week to buy the same house!!! Needing all the good karma I can get, cuz this house is fabulous!
I used the Sketch from Artful Delight for their monthly challenge....it made this page come together so quickly! I love sketches!

#18 - Happy Birthday
This week the challenge at Shopping our Stash is to make a birthday card...easy peasy bellafeasy...my favvorite kind of card to make by far...I could do them always and never run out of ideas when it comes to them. This card is made with all kinds of stash...old dollar store flowers, a plastic button that came in an exchange, a puffy cupcake that was the last in a set....the only thing new on this card is the happy day stamp and punch cuz I just had to try it out!

#17 - Thank you
This week's challenge at the Opus Gluei is to make a card that is to be donated to a charity or somewhere similiar. This was easy for me because I donate a stack of cards every year to my work fundraisers for the United Way and our local Children's hospital. There are usually 10 or so in a pack and they get raffled off in the dime parade. This is one that will be in one of the packages (I usually do around 3 packages to raffle off - around 30 assorted cards by the end of each year). This one is bright and cheery and I have been super addicted to baker's twine lately...the buttons were leftovers from another project that I made a long while back....join in for a challenge that also had a pay it forward cause to it, won't you?

#16 - Happy birhday
This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to use your oldest bling....I am a bling hoader...especially big swoopy bling...I love it, I buy it and I can't bring myself to actually use it because it is expensive...especially on a card! But not today...I picked out my biggest swoopiest oldest flourish and sacrificed it...I totally stole the design for this card from a picture in PaperCrafts magazine and tweaked it a little to use up scrap papers and stickers...I filled in the centres of some of the flowers too...just to make it a bit blingier.....

#12 - valentine's page
The challenge this week at Anything but A Card is to do something to do with love, valentines, anniversary, red, hearts etc....We had this picture taken on our cruise to Alaska last summer and I thought it would be a good idea to get the page finished with this challenge...we are not the mushy gushy hearts and lovey kind of people...but I had this kit that had some heartish paper in it and all valentinesy type embellies and my goal this year is to finish off all the kit bits I have purchased, so I dove in and did a mushy gushy page...loving all the gems and pins and stuff though...that part is fun...so why not crack out your supplies and join us this week?

I made these cards following the Sketch from Artful Delight for this month. Love their sketches!

#13 & #14- sympathy cards
I found myself needing an abundance of sympathy cards this week, as my auntie passed away. She has 5 kids and 4 brothers and sisters, so there is a great need for the sympathy card production line. These are the first two I came up with. I used my Tim Holtz markers to do the image and stamped it three times on each card. The little scallop is a dragonfly (kind of hard to see in the picture).
This is the second set that I got done this morning:
