Splash...

i love my kids so much and i don't want them to grow up. as hard as life can be right now when they are young, i know it's only going to get harder, at least emotionally. right now you only have to calm their tears when they fall, get a toy taken away, or have to go to time out. the older they get the more complicated things will get. mean kids at school, confidence, body image, not being as smart as the other kids, breaking up with boyfriends and the list goes on and on. it's scary. i know there will be positive things about them being older but those are hard to think about when all you hear about is the bad. maybe i'll just lock them up in the house and never let them out unless i'm right there with them. they will just have to be each other's best friends which is the way it should be anyway.
addie and coop get a long for the most part. coop is too young to know to not go up and hit addie repeatedly, but we are working on that! addie is always wanting coop to play tag and hide and seek with her. this morning she was laying on the floor with her pillow watching a cartoon and wanted coop to come sit with her. she moved over, made room for him and put her blanket on him. it was so sweet. they are good kids and i'm so lucky to have them. i hope they are always friends and want to stay close with one other when they get older. they just better not get old very fast!

Addie's FOUR!!

that's right, miss addie is 4. poor girl, all she wants is to go to preschool now that she's 4 and she has to wait a few more months. we thought we'd be in our new house by now so we didn't put her in. obviously that hasn't happened so hopefully after christmas! anyway, we decided on a jungle theme this year for no particular reason and it was so much fun.

anxiously waiting for her party to start.
i know, turtles aren't really jungle animals but i could not find a cute animal pinata anywhere!

we got her a new bike this year. i wish they didn't make every bike princess or tinkerbell or hello kitty. why can't they make normal, cute, non-tacky bikes? we were able to talk her our of the princess helmet. i'm a bad mom and haven't taken her around the neighborhood on her new wheels yet...we've been busy. so she makes do in the kitchen and always make sure to wear her helmet! she's played non stop the past 2 days with all her new things. i think it was a successful 4th birthday except for the preschool part :)
coop was happy with the party too. he scored a sucker out of the pinata and didn't whine once the whole time.
