Giggling Gabe

So as a parent I find myself always looking forward to the new milestones in Gabe's growth. Focusing on objects, holding up her head, or her first smile. The newest one was hearing her laugh. I couldn't wait until I could hear that sound.  You could tell it was getting closer. She would occasionally squeal at you, or take in a breath and let it out with something that sounded enjoyable. Adam said the other day she made some noises that somewhat resembled one. Today I was laying her down for a nap, and trying to untwist this blanket that she was tangled in. The blanket ended up landing on her face, so I took it off and smiled at her and she giggled at me. It threw me off. So I played peek a boo with her blanket to see if she would do it again. Low and be hold, the cutest laugh that I'd ever heard. :) I thought how fun, so I kept doing it. I called Adam in, cause I wanted him to witness how cute it was, and of course she wouldn't do it. So Adam tried every silly thing you can think of. The whole time I'm promising him that she did it, and it was SOOO cute. So randomly she starts doing it again. Full on giggles coming from her just one after another. Hurray I told ya! She had us both almost to the ground laughing, which kept her laughing. I can officially say today was the day that she first laughed. I was way excited, so I figured that I'd make a post to tell all of you how fun it was. We attempted to get it on camera to post, but we failed. We'll try again. I think being a parent I probably find this more exciting than any of you will, but I figured I'd spread the word anyway.

Ribs anyone?

So for those of you who aren't aware, Reno puts on some pretty fun stuff throughout the summer/fall time. One of them happens to be the The Best of the West Rib Cook Off in Sparks on Labor day weekend. All of these vendors come from all over the nation to prove that their ribs are the best.  How do you find out which one is the best you may ask.....try them of course! Well trying them ALL could get a little pricey. There are like twenty five different vendors. You can smell the BBQUE from blocks away. It's simply beautiful. HA. We decided to go as a group and all make a purchase buying full racks from different places and splitting them. It's hard to choose which ones to try. They all have their awards posted, and trophies displayed. They all claim to be the best. We ended up trying three different places. The first one was a bunch of Aussies, the second from Chicago, and the third was a local place called Famous Dave's. The Chicago place had the best meat by far in my opinion, and Famous Dave's sauce had Adam sold. It was a great time. There are tons of stands with other food and trinkets to buy. Overall it's just fun to walk around. You can buy V.I.P. tickets and get all you can eat of all the vendors. They are pricey, but we're determined to do it one of these years. Anyone takers? Here are some pics that Adam took with his phone to show the festivities..............

3 months old!

Gabrielle is 3 months old today. Crazy. It's so fun as parents to see how they develop from one month to the next. She smiles more now than ever. She wants everything in her mouth and gets frustrated when it hits her in the eye. (Her aim is a little off still) She is talking a little more, sitting up better, and has a firm grip. You realize how firm when she grabs your face. She is fascinated with her hands and feet. She is getting onto more of a nap schedule. She loves being outside, just like her Daddy.  She is our joy and we love her.

BUMBO!!!
Bath time is becoming more fun ....
Her first dip in Tahoe.... not a fan
Daddy is also entertained by her feet...
Just hanging out......

Youth Blog Page

So over the last few months I have been taking pics from different activities that we did as a young mens group/scout troop. But its a pain for the boys and the ward to see the pics so I thought it would be fun and easier to create a blog to post pics of some of the things we have done. Feel free to take a look its still new so we don't have tons posted yet.

BUMBO!!!

We recently purchased a Bumbo (thanks for the recommendation Danni) for our Gabrielle. For those of you who don't know what it is, it's this plastic seat that helps them sit up on their own before they are sturdy to do so by themselves. Basically it makes my life easier, so I can things done and still have her happy. They say you can get one as soon as they are strong enough to hold their own head up. Gabe is not an expert yet, but she is dang close. We put her in one in the store and she loved it, so we had to try it out. Here are some of our fun Bumbo pics so far, along with Gabe having fun. She is to the point now where her smiles are often. It's so fun!

Book Tag

book tag

1. Pick up the nearest book to you (one of at least 123 pages).
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the next three sentences.
5. Tag five people.

"Did you get sick again?"
"Yes and no, " I Said, but my voice sounded strangled.
"Bella? Can I please come in? Worriedly now.
I think technically that is the fifth sentence on? I'm reading breaking dawn of course. Slowly but surely. It's funny cause everyone around me is cruising through it. So I have to tell everyone to not reveal anything. It'll be a bit before I'm through I think. I have a cute little bug that comes first now. So you'll find me up at night trying to read it, but I end up falling asleep. HA. AHH motherhood.  I figure some day I'll get through it. In the mean time everyone please SHHHHH!

I tag.... Lillian, Janae, Christy, Brit, and anyone else who feels like doing it.
