Kinley turned 2!

Where has the time gone?! Every day Kinley is looking more and more like a little girl. She blows us away and we are so blessed. Here are some pictures from this little miss's photo shoot:

24 Months check-up stats:
Weight - 27.18 lbs (57th percentile)
Height - 35.24 in (84th percentile)
Head circumference - 19.3 in (86th percentile)

A few highlights from Kinley's Birthday "Interview"
-  When I am outside, I love toHelp water my flowers with my little watering can, draw with sidewalk chalk, blow bubbles, run around on my street, go to the park, swing on swings, slide down the slide, play in the water.
What makes you laugh?   When mommy and/or daddy are being silly, Lumpy the heffalump and Roo's food fight in Pooh's Heffalump Adventure, Mommy getting hurt, tickles
- What makes you happy?  My Family, sweet hugs, watching shows, getting special treats, bedtime with mommy, being sprayed with the hose by daddy
- What makes you sad? When mommy or daddy leave me in nursery for too long, not getting my way, not having my binky or blankets when I want them
- What do you and mommy do together?  Read stories, snuggle time for nap time and bed time, go and run errands, go to the library for story time, watch shows, make cookies, have picnics, pick out an apron for mommy to wear while she’s cooking
-What do you and daddy do togetherHave daddy sing songs to me (“Grief” aka A Poor Wayfaring Man of Grief, “Moon” aka Fly my to the Moon, “Lover” aka When you Left me (written by Adam), “God” aka I am a child of God), dancing, water our garden, bath time & PJ’s, watch sing-song shows, play hide-and-seek
-What are you really good at? Talking, climbing, jumping with both feet in the air, being silly & trying to tell jokes
Cute/Interesting things I say:  I’m starting to sing songs by myself, Helping with prayers by suggesting things I’m grateful for and want Heavenly Father to bless (some things I like to mention are myself, Westin, Mommy, Daddy, hot dogs, blankets, grandparents, bed) and finish by saying “Jesus Christ, Amen!”, Saying “Yes” and then nodding your head, please and thank you, when I give hugs I'll say, "aww, so sweet."
-Cute/Interesting things I do:   I climb up/over/on everything…EVERYTHING, I love to give hugs and kisses, when I want to do something mom & dad won’t usually let me do (like overly pester my brother, climb on things) I’ll tell mommy or daddy to “be right back” which means I want them to leave so that I can be naughty while they’re gone, I like throwing a blanket over my head (and whoever else I’m with) and say “Dark Spooky Forest.” We don’t really do anything in the dark spooky forest except talk about being in the dark spooky forest. When I don’t want to do something I will take a few side step and swing my hips and arms. I like to have a little race car run over my skin. I’m getting better at throwing and catching a ball. Waiving my arms up and down when I'm excited. When I'm sad, I'll do a big shoulder shrug and then sigh.
-What is one thing you love about Westin: I love when he’s apart of the activities I’m doing. So I always ask Mommy to put “Westin Down” next to me. I also love making sure that Westin is awake by yelling “Westin’s Awake!”…especially when he’s sleeping. But my yelling wakes him up. Every. Single. Time.
-  In the next year, I’m looking forward to: Potty Training, getting through the entire two hours of nursery without mom or dad being there, playing more interactively with other children, getting myself dressed

This little lady continues to hold our hearts. She is such a joy and we love her spunky, non-stop personality!

Brief and Late Mother's Day thoughts

For me, being a mom is about "getting" and "love".

You get to love no longer wearing "nice" clothes because you've become a personal tissue.

You get to love the purple bags under your eyes because of the loss of sleep.

You get to love the perpetual mess your home has become.

But most of all, you get to look at your children and see them as only a mother could: a perfect miracle.

And then you get to smile.

I do.

And I love it.
