Catching up :)

What an adventure it has been! We have been rockin' and rollin' in the Wood house. Since my last post, I have a lot of catching up to do! Our most exciting news is that baby #3 is on the way! This week we got to see a perfect little baby BOY! He will be here after Christmas...great way to start the new year!
We finally sold our house after about 6 months on the market. I thought I might get a little sad, a little sentimental considering that we have lived there since Carter was 1 and Averi was born but, no tears. I gladly handed over the keys!
Since we moved out we have surprisingly enjoyed apartment living. The kids think we are at a resort 24/7! Adam loves not having a yard to mow and I am enjoying not much house to clean! We are in the process of building a house on land that we have owned for a couple of years. It has been the plan for quite a while, I might believe it when the furniture is being moved in!
Carter has started kindergarten and the flag football season is in full gear. He is always wanting to learn, ready to know more. He can remember bible verses better than any of us. We are trying to fill that little head full while he is soaking it up! Averi has started MDO, Angel choir, and is a little cheerleader for Carter's team...priceless! She is loving getting to do her activities. Her prayer a few nights ago was, "Dear God, thank you for my school, and my cheerleading, and thank you for letting me sing in your Angel choir, and thank you for the baby underneath Mommy's belly. Amen". Adam has been working hard, coaching hard, and putting up with my morning sickness. He is a saint! I love watching him on the field coaching Carter. They have so much fun together and Carter takes everything he says as law.
I have been cherishing my time with just Averi at home. She is precious and so much fun! It's so different just having the girls at home...lots of nail painting and baby rocking going on! I started Bible Study Fellowship last week and have been enjoying playing with my new camera...I have so many sweet moments to catch!
Praising my Savior! We are so blessed...my heart is full!

Sprinklies

The hot weather is here and we are lovin' it! Averi's favorite is the "Sprinklies". She wants to play in the them every day but she doesn't want you to turn them any higher than about 2 feet. Here's our first day in the sprinklers. We moved up to a real pool this week...a fancy blow-up one. Counting the days until the pool opens!

Check out our muscles...

To moms...

I believe the closest thing to the love of our Lord is the love of a mother. We have all watched our sleeping babies and noticed each hair on that head...just like our Father knows each one of ours. I remember the first time I looked at Carter sleeping in his crib and the love of God just overwhelmed me. I thought, if I have this much love in my heart for this little baby, how much does He love us. I still check on my babies as they are sleeping every night and every night I think, Wow...if I can love this child so much...how much does He love us.
We all know that we would do anything for our children. We have dreams for them. And so many prayers for them. I pray that above all, my children will know Jesus as their Savior and know the love that only He can give. We spend so much time worrying about daily living, what they need to eat, do they have clean clothes to wear, are they ready for school, what school are they going to, are they learning all they need to learn for this age...it can be overwhelming. I read this verse today and pray that my children will love the Lord with all their heart, all their soul, and all their strength. What an amazing gift we have, the opportunity for our children to learn God's love through our love for them. And how rewarding to watch as God works in their little lives...making us all into more than we could imagine. Happy Mother's Day!

"You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.
And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates." Deut. 6:5-9
