Happy Birthday Mother Dear, That I love. Everyday, For Ever and Ever, and All Eternity.

It is always a special day when it' s your mother's Birthday.

Let me just say a few things:

1. If you haven't spent time with my mom, odds are you'll eventually end up a Hire's Big H.
2. If you ever go clothes shopping you better be prepared to spend a lot of money because she is the best deal finder.
3. If you ever are sad she gives the best hugs.
4. I have found that if I ask really nice I can borrow anything in her closet.
5. If you are her best friend she will be yours.
6. She can make up the most random words, and they actually sound official.
7. My mom can read lips even if your turned the other direction.
8. If you need a good laugh, just go on a short drive to pick up the kids from Carden, she makes those three so happy.
9. My mom has few weaknesses but, I do know of one, and that is Austin can get her to do about anything, for some reason she likes him more than me. (j/k mom)
10. She is flat out amazing, and probably is the most giving person I've ever met.
11. Style, my mom's got it.
12. My mom drives like a race car driver.
13. Even when I bit into a tomato and it's juice spewed all over my mom's new white blouse, she didn't get mad... now that's love.
14. If you like almond butter, you'd like my mom.
15. And finally I just wanted to say that she's the best. And I'm not trying to be a huge cheese ball, but seriously she is. Happy Birthday Mom.

Mixed feelings

I can't believe that 50% of you think my husband looks good with this mustache... have you ever kissed a face with this type of mustache? I thought maybe the poll would help deter him from thinking he looks pretty boss sporting this look, but now I fear I have no hope and am forever stuck with the possibility of a nasty stash.

One More Thought For The Day

This is not really a pressing matter, but since I have these two unfinished bags sitting in our room, (that I started in July) it made me think out loud. And as result I am blogging my question, what is in your 72 hr kits? I am finishing ours up, and I'm going back and fourth with what food items to have in our bags... Any good ideas? Let us know.

Need I Say More?

Well, I wanted to just say that I have a husband who likes to stir the pot so to speak. And well I'm sure you've come to notice that happens to be a constant with the both of us. It seems both of us are usually trying to find the next thing that will either get a good laugh out of someone, or even a weird look from a passer by. I find it just comical at how people react to certain things.

So, picture this:

walking into church on a beautiful Sunday morning.

And let me for a moment take you to our ward, we live right near Highland High School, and this area has a lot of shall we say "older" people, just imagine the looks in our building Sunday. Austin wearing a nice pressed suit, cuff links and all, and his famous "Blues Brothers" Glasses, all accompanied by a real mow hawk. It was just great seeing the faces of our Sunday School leaders, and the small group of 14 year olds we teach. Thank goodness for Austin and his crazy style, he keeps us all on our toes.

Here Goes...

Hello to all. I guess I'll start talking about my car AKA "Barbara Blue''. Barbara is an 89 Toyota Camry in mint condition, so to speak. She is a face that only a mother could love, or in my case a father, but what Barbara lacks in looks she makes up in her overall performance. I am proud to say that my car is getting better MPG than new cars who claim to be gas sippers. To be exact she will get anywhere from 32-34 mpg. Impressive considering there is almost no maintenance, except for the habitual quart of oil with every fill up. So there you have it, some of you may say that i drive a junker, or a hoopty car, but the reality is that I am just doing my part to save the world from a global meltdown. Yep my trusty steed and I, sticking it to Al Gore.

Well first I guess that I should apologize for the above photo. I am not trying to strut my "stuff" or anything, I'm just giving you a visual for my next topic; hair. If any of you have seen me without my shirt on, you know that I have a chest that could compete with a wookie. So one fine Saturday night I made one of the dumbest decisions of my life.... I waxed my chest. Now for all of you men who are hairy like myself, you may be thinking one of two things. Its either, " what an idiot" or " I wonder how bad it really hurts?". Well my friends I will acknowledge both of your thoughts. I am an idiot, and yes it hurts, a lot. In truth the first one wasn't so bad until I had the realization that I was committed, and I now had to endure 20 minutes of pain. Some women may laugh and say beauty is pain, however the pain endured did not make me any more beautiful. In fact I broke out in a horrible rash, a rash, that in my opinion looked far worse than a hairy chest.
Now the other thing you may notice about the above picture is a magnificent mow hawk.
Abrielle was kind enough to give me the haircut the day after my chest was waxed. I guess I just figured the after what I went through the previous night, a normally eccentric haircut would be child's play. So here I am hair free... mostly.

Dear Sarah,

First of all I am writing this to tell you that I am not offended nor was I ever, I wrote that comment mainly as a loving joke. And am now realizing it is hard to read into my constant sarcasm through a written text, so I apologize for that.
Update on us:
Hmm, well basically we work a lot but, it's slowing down for Austin lately which is really nice to see him more than just early am (which is not my cup o' tea) and for dinner at night. And I got another "new job" (since I seem to frequent "new jobs" quite often... oops) I work for a physical therapist, and I absolutely love it, and in fact this job has made me want to get a PTA degree so maybe I've actually made up my mind there.
We are officially house shopping. Yes, it is true we went this morning, which Uncle Dave is seriously amazing at I highly recommend him. And so hopefully the whole painting a wall may actually come true in the near future, same with naming a dog Elvis (which may be higher on the priority list)
I have sown my very first dress and I did all the smocking on it, and Austin is learning the guitar, excuse me electric guitar, which he has named Colonel Mustard. Neither of us are in school this semester and so we both have started new hobbies, and it's been a total blast learning something new. And I've realized that sowing is a lot cooler than people make it seem, and same with smocking. And as for Austin and his adventures with the colonel, maybe I should have him update that in his post he's been planning for us all. I will say this though, Colonel Mustard does occupy my front room, along with his cords and other baggage, so I can't wait for a room for the little man.
And finally and on a less serious note, we made Austin's famous chicken noodle soup Thursday with the garlic bread Jared digs, when can you guys come over? We miss you, and now have a Wii so we won't have to watch Austin and Jared kill aliens all the time, and George can participate better than a round of Halo.

Hooray!! Another TAG

A Much Needed Update

Well, to all our fans our computer has been out of commission, and frankly distancing myself from the small blogging world I'm usually enthralled in was kinda nice... however, we are back. I'm not really sure what to update on, there has been a lot of things I've wanted to blog but now sitting at my computer I have no idea what those are. So, I'll put up a vote. Tell me what your curious about and I can probably fill in the blanks.

Other than that I will update more frequently as to not put myself in this position again.
