Thursday, February 01, 2007 Hi everyone, Let's see...first of all, apologies for not being able to post up the photos of Eve's night as yet because Terence is up to arms with so much work, it's scary. (I've instruct him to do so once he has some time freed up) The upcoming Adam's night is also coming very very soon. The preparation is on-going and I'll be absent from Singapore from 1-6th February. Alot on my mind and even before I go, I cant wait to come back already... Meantime I wish all of you a blessed weekend and see you soon!! youngones at 4:32 PM
Thursday, January 25, 2007 Hey hey... One week has gone by and my, we're hitting february soon. It's been such a challenge to attend ACTS on friday and feel so lousy not being able to come because of my flights. Last friday I swapped flight only to find out it wiped out my evening by mistake. Then next friday I'll be in Athens for 6 days, first time in 4 years (never been to Greece and it's been my wish to go before I leave the airlines) Saturday is Eve's night and a friend whom I've persuaded at length has agreed to go...thank God. Believe that this is a perfect opportunity for people outside GLCC to experience the warmth of Christian bonding and fellowship. Also, a time to discover the talents of our ACTS men who'll be serving us ladies :) Please continue to pray for the students in our midst- David Gina Delaine Jon Peijun as they face school load and final year crunch time, as well as the working ones, Meishan Nelly and Terence (very stressed coping with demands of work). Pls pray for me regarding flight schedule to have more freed up time on tues/fri/sun to attend church. Let's run the race before us with strength from our Lord. 'Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord' Psalm 31:24 Have a blessed weekend everyone! Luv, shan youngones at 11:12 AM
Thursday, January 18, 2007 Dear all, So happy to see Gina well settled in Finland and the wonderful ways God has provided for her there :) Finland looks similiar to Copenhagen and sounds like you got a very good accommodation deal, Gina (I would like a sauna somewhere above my place too!) About the Evangelical church you spoke of, I'm sure God will give you peace if it's a sound church otherwise He'll show you another. Will pray for you to settle in a good sound church. When I visit churches overseas, there's hardly any other like GLCC...perhaps practices are just too different but the word preached must always be from the bible, not distorted. (Surely you'll know the difference, we've all been well fed in GLCC, spiritually) It's been awhile since I blog due to some internet problem which has been solved like finally, just relieved to be able to communicate when we're all busy at work and school. Things are pretty challenging at the moment and how to strike a balance is really a prayer away. Despite the spiritual battle that envelopes us, we can count on the victory claimed in His name. Thank God for each one of you, Luv, Shan youngones at 11:57 PM

Hey guys! hope everything in glcc is good! I'm in helsinki now and the weather's not tooo crazy. it's about -7 degree celsius today. it already feels like a long time since i've been here. thank God that i've made some friends (some american, french and swedish people) and i actually don't feel homesick or lonely at all! God is amazing. amidst all the international exchange students who are crazy about partying and getting drunk, i met this american girl, crystal, who was looking for a church and had been praying before she came that she'd find a christian friend whom she can pray and go to church with! isn't this soo crazy? i mean, i was praying for that too and what were the odds that i would get along with any of these 84 party people on the spiritual level? hoho. crystal's one of the nicest girls i've met; she's always smiling, has the warmest personality, loves socializing and of course, people love her. she and i searched for a church on the internet and visited one of them yesterday. it's called International Evangelical Christian church and i found this on its website: "The International Evangelical Church in Finland believes together with the Christian Church the faith expressed in the Apostles Creed and the Nicean Creed .
boy, was the service different in a lutheran church. the pastor and elders wore robes, they led a sinners confession prayer together before service, we had to kneel down and wait for the pastor to come say something to us before taking the Lord's supper, they ended prayers with "in the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit", everyone walked slowly and the whole mood was solemn. I must admit, though i shouldnt have been, i was a little skeptical about the sincerity of it all because the service was kind of ritualistic. it shouldn't be a problem because they were preaching from the Bible but i'm not sure if that is the church i'll go to every sunday. crystal thought it was alright because she'd been to lutheran churches before but she said she too will pray about it first. alrighty, that's all for the update on my side. oh yah, my room is huge. i have a queen size bed, cupboards, shelves, big study table, dining table, 4 chairs, drawers, mini stove, spacious toilet, and what not. my apartment even has a sauna on the highest level. i'm settling in quite fast all thanks to God and your prayers!! God is wonderful. He's blessed me with so much even though i deserve NONE of it. i'm veryy thankful. girls, have fun at eve night!! and terence, good luck. gina youngones at 2:57 PM
Friday, January 05, 2007 Wow, another brand new year and my new year resolution is pretty odd this time as Im counting down to the final completion of my 5 year contract with SIA... 10 months, 20 days...seems short and long at the same time. What are your new year resolutions? I believe God will be with us, guiding every step of our way. Thank God for Peijun's salvation and Gina's family baptism taking place this evening. Praise the Lord for His faithfulness :) ~~~~~~~~BLESSED 2007 TO ALL...!!!!~~~~~~~~~~~ Luv, shan. youngones at 8:35 AM
