I know you have all been anxiously awaiting California Girls Part II but, sadly, that isn't going to happen anytime soon. Part II was supposed to be my mom and I going to LA for Radio City Auditions. We had it all planned out but then those plans came screeching to a halt. So what could stop a runaway freight train like Radio City?? A job! Not just one job but two.
On May 7th, I embarked on a new journey. I started my brief job as the Human Resources Receptionist at the Canyons School District. On the second day at work, I posted the job I really wanted on our work website: Human Resources Secretary. I know, you are all thinking that I have way too high of expectations for myself but I felt it was attainable. After all, I graduated Magna Cum Laude from BYU! Nothing is out of my reach!
Nine working days after I started working at the Canyons School District, I was promoted to the high and mighty position of Human Resources Secretary! I know, hard to believe. Dreams can come true! As I tell this to people at work, I always end with the statement, "My goal is to become Superintendent by September!" That really gets them! Since I have only worked there for about two and a half weeks, my coworkers have no idea whether I am joking or serious. Good times!
As you all are wondering what my plans are for Radio City this year, I might as well tell you. I have decided to retire from my awesome Christmas job as Santa's elf Bruce...for now. I feel that I can always come out of retirement like Celine Dion, the artist formerly known as Prince, and everyone else who likes to disappoint their fans and then come back in a triumphant return. I didn't attend any auditions this year and told Radio City I didn't want to be considered for a role this year.
It's easy to turn down Radio City in May, especially when I am in the "honeymoon phase" of a new job. Come October, I know I will be having serious withdrawals. I'm already planning my vacation for the week between Christmas and New Year's. If any of you want me to come visit you, leave a compelling reason why I should in the comment section.
