The Sad, Sad Tale

Well, most of you probably haven't even seen the first pictures of my cake yet, since I just posted them a few hours ago. Since then, much has happened. I took the cake to a play group so I could share it. When we were leaving, I put the cake on the top of the car to buckle the girls in. I don't think anymore explanation is needed. We all know what happens to things when you leave them on top of your car and start driving. Luckily it didn't end up on the busy street, so I was able to safely retrieve it. I'm very grateful for a sturdy carrying case that stayed shut during the whole ordeal, because the cake is still edible (Alex was very concerned about this!).

My final cake decorating class

For those of you who don't know, I took a cake decorating class this month. I had my final class last night, and we finished learning how to make a rose. Ignore some of the funky colors -- I was running out of time and I didn't want to take the time to wash out my bag, so lots of colors got mixed together.

Here are some of my previous projects:

Hopefully I'll be taking out all my supplies and making more cakes. I had so much fun learning how to make the rose, and now I have all the ideas for other rose cakes. So I'll be posting those as I make them. The only bad thing about making all these cakes is I don't even like eating all that frosting! So I spend all the time putting the designs on the cake, only to scrape it off when I eat it. Oh well.

Picture Day!

We had our family pictures done today, and it was a blast. Alex and I were both rather scarred from our last experience trying this. Granted, that was a whole year ago, but both of the girls were crying and cranky and it was not a pleasant experience. The girls were so cute tonight and we all had fun.

This one was taken towards the end, and Holly was getting quite restless. We were able to get a few more shots in by finding some fun beads for them to play with.

We pretended this was part of Jasmine's "Royal Palace" and Allison loved it! Can you tell which movie is her favorite this week?

I have the hardest time getting smile shots of Holly, so I was extremely happy about how many adorable pictures we got of her smiling.
Luckily we were able to make it out about a half hour before Alli decided to get sick and throw up . . . once in the car and twice at home. Lovely, lovely night for us.
Thanks for letting me share these adorable pictures of my girls!
