The Exam Week.

Due to the fact that I’m just finish my examination week last two week 25th January 2009 was not being able to update this blog of mine. I’ve been very exhausted and lazy after weeks and days of not having enough sleep preparing for my exam! DSCN5645Well I’ve got four papers this last semester which is Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Business Organisation and last but not least Financial Environment and Markets which i don’t really like cause it’s more to Economics. Anyway feeling better now that’s over…well i must say honestly never in my life i really had to sit and really focus staying up late..having to be in the library till early morning..well i guess that’s how it’s going to be for the next two years.

Thanks to Elliot my best friend for having to spend the weekend with me even though we got stuck by playing Computer Games!DSCN5637 We played Train Tycoon which was a strategy game which got us addicted to it for awhile but we’re not longer playing it after that. DSCN5639-1

Just after a few days later Elliot and Me decided to spend the time in the library as i needed to get some books and Nick were also there with Farhan. By the way Nicholas Waller known as Nick is actually my course mate we decided to study together as both of us don’t really understand certain topics. I got there at 6pm at the library and manage to get back to Nick place at about 2am. DSCN5647-3 As far as i could remember we both we quite scared cause our Management Accounting exam’s at 3pm. Gosh! I would never never forget about the that night…It was so funny till i decided to sleep for awhile. I was so focus studying hard still about 3 plus till his flat mate got back after a night out in Newcastle with her boyfriend! Imagine it was a lonely and silent night two students studying suddenly a sexual noise coming from the next room! Oh my god it really got both of us laughing quietly and distracted it looks like someone having fun unlike both of us. The more we’re trying to focus the more louder it get! Ha-ha! So i had enough and decided to sleep while Nick is teasing me. The next day we woke up quite late but i was rushing thru my notes again last minute. DSCN5648-3Anyway result were out just last week which it was alright for me even though was not really good but i hope to try my level best this semester. Insyallah.

  • Financial Accounting – 70%
  • Management Accounting – 100%
  • Financial Environment and Markets – 37% which i need to re-sit
  • Business Organisation – Haven’t been out yet but expecting it would be 8+

Let Me Call it a Start.

First of all would like to wish you all Happy New Year 2009!

As for me I did celebrate New Year 2009 at home watching movie if I was mistaken. Looking back on 2008 it does make me feel that I’m going older which is sad really. But I can't really seem to remember much of things going on happy, sad, laughter and many more as for 2008 I wonder why. Not that I've totally forgotten about everything but some are still there and some may just fade away. Wonder is it something wrong with me or something else. Better hope that I may not have brain cell damage. :-)

Which then I decided to blog bit of pieces of my life so that someday whenever I’m older I could look back and read the moments I had gone thru over the years, who knows someday when I have my little ones they could read it as well and could learn some of the mistake I've made or the good ones which I'm sure you all could learn rather than making the same mistake I did or etc.

Its 2009 now and it have been awhile since I've move to Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom for my studies. And I would like to thank especially my beloved mother and not forgetting my family Uncle Adin, Aunty Mimi, Uncle Rosli and Uncle Hussain. Which it’s been a great support over the years since I was born in fact? Well since I got here lots of things wish I’ve gone thru in especially surviving on my own term of financially, emotionally, and the process of learning of being an adult a man I would say. It’s really tough when I come to think of it but I feel it’s worth it the decision which has taken place. If not I’ll be wondering what would I be doing now? Maybe I would still be in the same college same friends same attitude which is not getting me anywhere.

It’s more than a year now since I’ve move here having the chance or opportunity to build my life up. Therefore I must really make my family proud especially my mother and the family for their great help and support towards me till now this very second. Well I got into Newcastle College did my course which is really fast having notice that it’s all done and finally having another step being a University Student doing Degree course. Did remember that was pretty unsure where should I be and what do to. But after some research on career prospect and seeking advice then I decided to BA (Hons) Accounting at Northumbria University. And here I am an Accounting Student which will be having exam pretty soon but not studying yet but writing my blog. Gosh I really should be studying if only my mother knows about it. ;-)

So over the year I’ve look at it remembering when I came here leaving the comfortable zone in Malaysia which there’s nothing to be worried about and here I am on my own two feet. I did have to work part time to survive and studying at the same time. Well I guess it was a good experience. My first job was working at the Indian take away on weekends Friday to Sunday from 4pm till 1am with only 15 pound a night, labour slave I must say. There I was a kitchen helper having to do the food preparation such as peeling union, making mint sauce, packaging for food delivery and etc. After few weeks I left the job got a better place it was an Iranian Pizza Take Away (Caspian Pizza) it was a Monday to Sunday from 5pm to midnight I think it was only about 20pound for the start then about 25pound a night but it was alright cause the food is free so all my nights dinner was always pizza, chips kebab, and soft drink which is unhealthy. But I don’t know why I never grew fat? Was on a mission actually to on weight but it was unsuccessful. Here I manage quite well cause I did learn to make pizza from nothing even it’s a hard work making 8kilo dough of pizza bread everyday sometimes even more. Mixture of flour, salt, sugar, oil and water and you got yourself a pizza base. Having to knead the dough was a tough one which makes my hand stronger. LOL! Well I did have to manage the shop on my own most of the time. So imagine I’ve about 1 hour to prepare the food then I’ve to open the shop usually it will start busy just about dinner time 7pm to midnight. So I am the one having to prepare the food, taking the customer’s order via phone and in the shop, cooked the food and in charge of the till. So it was making a product till services. Ha-ha... Those were the days. But I do in a way miss it, having my own fresh baked pizza everyday with lots of garlic, cheese and chilli. It’s very nice and of cause filling!

Later then I’ve got my NI Number which makes me eligible to work legally in the UK. So I’ve apply to numerous vacancies for part time job, which is cleaner in college from 6.30am to 8.30am and Domestic Assistant for NHS Trust in Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle. I’ve left the other job in the college last November 2008 but still giving my service to the NHS Trust from Monday to Friday 5pm till 7.45pm with a good pay and good experience. Which surprisingly you’ll find lots of Malaysian student working apart from them are Phd Student and Degree student both from Newcastle University and Northumbria University. Here I learn a lot especially looking towards others in a different prospect especially people who are unfortunate having low income in Malaysia especially the elderly people, cleaners and others who are working hard to survive in this world. Well I am actually going thru what it’s like. Nevertheless I am a young person studying in a University it does make a lot of different.

So that is a summaries story in 2008. But I still do feel there’s a lot of a thing to be achieved in life. Then again I am ashamed because there are things which I feel wasted, regrets and I do which to turn back the time. But time could never turn. As it is now 2009 I’ll just have to learn from the mistake which I did.

Let me start with a new resolution for 2009. May it’s a better year for me and everyone.

  • Focus more on my studies.
  • Travel around Europe seeing places and learn.
  • Learn to budget my finance which I am totally bad on my personal expenses.
  • Play less, work hard, be more productive and stop procrastinations.
  • Set my priorities right. (Like my mother say always which I never listen family first then others especially girls)
  • Obviously I’ll give more love to family and friends especially now that I’m single.
  • Start this blog as it's good platform for me being able to share my experience.

So I really do hope that this year resolution 2009 could be achieved and a great start me.

Till I write again.....Cheers!

*P/S: I have always say to myself that i never can write and being able to express myself in words. Never have i even wrote a diary for myself but surprisingly my first post is about 1210 words. How i wish being able to write in my exams!
