Grand Cayman

In January, we planned a much needed (at that time we had no clue how much we really needed it) romantic get-away for just Brad & me.  We are so thankful to Diana & Victoria (& other parentals that helped carpool & walk kiddos) for keeping our kids happy and safe.

A few days before our trip, Brad surprised me with roses.  Wow!

On the plane....Brad & his new blonde girlfriend
Our destination.....

first night, dinner on the beach.  lovely, comfy couches

view from our room

How cool are these beach chairs.  Instead of an umbrella, they have adjustable canopies (like a baby stroller).  The attendants would dress them with fitted terry cloth sheets.  And serve drinks.  HEAVEN.

The color of the water is just AMAZING.  Indescribable. And the sand was lush and soft.  Not scratchy at all.

We were greeted with this champagne upon arrival at the Ritz and I must say I sampled it daily.

Obligatory toe picture at the beach

Our only dinner off resort.  I had lobster and shrimp, while Brad had snapper and shrimp.  We cleansed our palate with Calypso's famous Sticky Toffee Pudding.

The iguanas are all over this island.  Apparently, there are also blue iguanas that you can see at a reserve (b/c they are endangered and only found on this island...nowhere else on the planet)  We decided we will bring kiddos back to do that tour.

How cool is the entry to the spa.  Water was rushing behind the wall and under the lighted walkway.
The cashmere lined couches were fab while I waited for my pedicure.

Cheers!

Can you believe this sunset?

Our steak dinner...was awesome, but had steak hangover the next day.

Check out the aqua butlers.  floating seats/tables while you wait for drinks.

We were sad to leave, but ready also.  I told Brad if I sleep, eat, drink anymore that I would start losing brain cells.  I read 3 books and truly relaxed with my sweet hubby.  Amazing.

Our only excursion was a jet ski tour to Stingray City and to see starfish.  It was a bumpy ride to say the least. But an adventure.

Brad kissing the stingray (getting 7 years good luck)

Probably 20 stingrays just swimming all around us.  cool and creepy at same time.

Our guide suggested a pit stop for a Mudslide.

My "High" Uterus

This post is dedicated to Dr Josh Ward (not because he has ever commented on my uterus, but because he inspired me to get back to blogging).  It has been hard to find the time b/c these three chitlins that follow us around demand alot.  Which leads to me to explain where I am located at this moment, typing this blog.....Grand Cayman---at the Ritz Carlton.  And yes, I am bragging and may have turned into a vacation snob.  In fact, I may have to work an extra day a week just so I can continue to vacation like this. Luxury.

Ok, so here is the explanation of the title of this post.  We have been lounging by the beach and pool the last few days (sans kids).  The water is gorgeous and so are the people.  I mean even men in Speedos look good.  I commented to Brad that I wish my tummy could be as flat as these goddesses walking by us.  He immediately said, "You can't help it.  Your uterus is just high".  It is a good thing I have job experience as a life guard, b/c I could have drowned from surprise and laughter.  I had to fess up and explain "that, No, my uterus is not high--I just need to push away from the table more".  It really was a compliment in my book.  All this time, I have worried about my muffin top and my sweet husband of 13 years, just thought my uterus was HIGH.
