Happy Heart Day 2012

What a special day.  We had a fun celebration before even getting ready for school.  Brad and I were able to have a night out for dinner a few days prior.

I was so excited to find this candy box b/c I refer to Brady as my "sweetie pie".  He also had his new little monkey around his neck.  He LOVES this monkey so much....and he randomly named it Plato.

A friend gave me these cute labels to put on our drinks

Coop drinking his True Love punch with his heart straw

Mill loved her new Vday monkey
Then off to Brady's Vday party at preschool.  He had a blast with his bestie, Barrett

I just loved, loved, loved my gift from Brady.  I will title the portrait "the LOVE tree",  he was so excited to give it to me
Last but not least, this was the view of his preschool playground.  A light snow that morning.  Oh, and the chia pet that Brady wanted to get for his birthday and grow it at school

Old friends

Miss Amy and Kaitlyn came to visit for a fun Saturday night.  We miss having them as neighbors, hard to believe they moved 4 years ago!

Millie's 1st day of preschool

In January, Camille started attending preschool two days a week.  She has done great, but she still will not nap there.  Her teachers said she is not disruptive; she just lays there staring at the ceiling.  I'm pretty certain that she is thinking these other classmates are weird, b/c she has only ever slept in her crib.  She comes home and just takes a late nap.

This was her first morning, putting her stuff in her locker

Legos and more

We really enjoyed the amazing Lego display. Legos are simply found ALL OVER our house.

If you look closely, Brady is kissing an alligator thru the glass.  This was in downtown LR at a very well done wildlife museum (&is is free)

Then off to the Children's Science museum to lay on a bed of nails. Yikes!

Cubscout Cooper

Cooper joined the cubscouts this year.  It has been a very good experience. It definitely is a huge time commitment, but I really think he has learned alot of good lessons from being involved.

Coop's first time to wear his uniform shirt.  (He can't even wear these pants anymore, way too short, sniff-sniff)

A visit to the downtown firestation.  The firefighters were so nice.  They discussed firesafety issues and they were asking the boys tricky questions, "Would you go back inside a burning house so you could get your video game?"  Coop's hand quickly rose and my heart sank, thinking he was going to die in a fire just for that stinkin DS game.  He confidently said, "NO, you don't go into the house. That's why you have home owner's insurance!"  Hilarious!  I don't think the firefighters had ever heard that answer:)

Pinewood Derby.  Brady was even able to participate in the Sibling race.
"The Gator" came in 1st place overall for our pack.  I'm pretty certain Daddy was just as excited as Coop.  We recently went to regionals and The Gator didn't sweep an overall award, but came in 1st for the Tiger Division (that was competing against about 50 other cars)
One of our fieldtrips was to tour the Clinton Presidential Library.  The tour guide was excellent and kept the info age appropriate.  There was also a very cool Lego display at the museum that I will share in a later post.
The highlight of the year, was most definitely the camping trip to Petit Jean. This was inside a cave and we saw indian carvings and learned about "sweet mommas"

The pack on top of  a rock.  They look so tough!

This was just after setting up our tent.  Victoria babysat Camille so we could have a more enjoyable camping experience.

Brad showed the boys how to skip rocks and he led a game of football with the scouts.

Hiking on the turtle rocks.  This camping trip was as excited for the boys as Disney was it seemed!

During one of our meetings, we made GOO!  The recipe was glue, borax and water.  pretty cool.
