You Know You are a Nerd When...

You celebrate your birthday at the Northpark food court, AND love it.
At least it's the coolest mall in town....
You wrap up your celebration by 9:30 on the couch....
You decide to pool your birthday money with your wife for a new oven because yours just died....
At least there is one cool cat in our family. Avery celebrated his 1 month birthday with his giraffe buddy last Thursday, I can't believe he is now 5 weeks old. I can now say I am so glad he came early and that I am not 1 week into figuring him out.

Thanks

4 weeks or 40 weeks, you decide!!!!

I have been wanting to say a HUGE thanks to everyone who has been so great to us lately.

Thanks for the baby showers!!! I never got around to posting about the fabulous baby showers we received. Our church family and families spoiled us rotten and my work friends did the same.

Thanks for welcoming Avery!!!So many people dropped what they were doing at 10pm on a Monday night to come welcome our baby and make sure we were okay.

Thanks for not being mad!!! No one was mad at me when I woke with a text at 3am announcing Avery's arrival, I was up and forgot everyone else might not be....

Thanks for the flowers!!! We had a hospital room and then house full of beautiful flowers from people who thought of us.

Thanks for the food!!! We have had wonderful meals for weeks from friends who knew I wouldn't have it pulled together to cook until Avery was older.

Thanks for coming to visit!!! So many people have made special trips out of their way to come visit and help us out around here.

Thanks for the clothes!!! Michael and I bought Avery a coming home outfit, a picture outfit, and an A&M onesie. The kid has a closet full of clothes and looks adorable every day. It is so fun to dress him in your gifts.

Thanks for the cards, e-mails and phone calls. It never fails that when we need a little pick me up someone gives just the right words of encouragement.

Thanks for the prayers, it is so nice knowing we are being lifted up!

Thanks most of all for your friendship, love, and support!!! Before Avery was born I was petrified that I had gotten in over my head, I still think I probably have. But now I know that with the amazing support network we have somehow we will make it through. I can't tell you the relief it brings us to think of all the help we will have raising our little man.

Life at our House

There's a new sheriff in town, Avery, thankfully he is a very good boy and sleeps very well at night!!!
Cleo is still a sheriff, too, she is learning about her new friend Avery with some help from Dad...
Every other day we take a bath, then we have fuzzy hair. Wonder who he gets that from????
Readers are leaders, so we read stories every morning to pass the awake time.
Peace out homies.

Check out Linde's Website

Linde the fabulous has her website up and running. Check her out, see pictures of more of her great work. She is amazing, you NEED her to come to your home and make it great.

Can you believe American Idol this week? Avery and I were stunned and outraged that Michael got kicked off. I may have to start voting if that is how it is going to go.

I think that Kristy Lee Cook needs to go she's been in the bottom 3 a million times.

We'll see what happens this week.

Don't forget to check out Linde the fabulous and tell all your friends!!!!

And The Winner Is...

Well, here he is all stretched out at the pedi. The winner is Meredith, he was 6lb. 0.5 ounces and holding strong at 18 1/2 inches! The never ending feed, bottle feed, pump and repeat cycle is paying off. Dr. Y. said we can try to wean the supplement when he is a month old, yeah!!!
We have to say a huge thank you to Lou Lou, she stayed with us until we knew we could do it on our own. Hopefully she will be back soon! You can never get enough Lou Lou time. Our very first night with no safety net went great, even though there was a huge storm and we lost power for several hours Avery slept like a champ and never missed a beat. Hopefully we will have many more nights like last night.
I think you should all know that I am now officially out numbered and the male bonding has started!! Michael and Avery are watching the Rangers and talking baseball for their evening time together. I can only imagine the fun when Aggie football gets going, I am going to have to move out. At least I still have Cleo on my side.

Like the Man at the Fair

You get to be like the man at the fair or 6 Flags....

Guess Avery's weight!
Tomorrow we go for our 2 week check-up, although technically he will be 2 weeks and one day.

We are hoping that he is a growing boy, he is starting to look a little bigger.

Here he is at birth, 5lb. 10 ounces.

His lowest weight in the hospital was 5lb. 5 ounces, he gained back to 5lb. 7 oz.

He still weighed in at 5lb. 7 ounces at his weight check last Monday at a week old.
(Sorry I can't make it flip tonight)
Here he is today after running a few errands, Mommy can drive!!!!

By the way, I am trying to find something so his head won't flop over like that, but he is just too small. We had a little neck pillow, but he still did it. Any suggestions?

What's your guess on his weight this week?????

The Big Reveal

Aunt Linde has slaved and slaved while we all played with Avery, she finished his room Wednesday night and we finally got to see it. We LOVE it! I think it is her best work ever, but I am a little biased I guess.
Here's Avery with his fabulous name sign. I love that the letters are wooden so that he can always have them even if he decides he is too cool to have them out some day.
My grandparents' dresser looks awesome. Linde gave it the perfect face lift with new pulls and a great paint job. One drawer is not quite done, she had to get someone to get it out after I rammed it stuck in a fit of nesting right before Avery was born.
We are going to mark Avery's height against his name, so we were giving him his first mark. If you look closely he is less than impressed. :)

Aunt Linde thought of everything, even the drapes have his monogram on them, I LOVE monograms so this is perfect. We are so blessed to have such a talented and GENEROUS family member. We never could have a nursery like this on our own. It is truly the greatest.

We also want to give Mary Lou at javisdavis.com a shout out, she did our bedding and it is sooo great. Linde said she was very easy to work with and for all our friends to use her if you need someone.

Avery's First Pedi Visit

Here we are in our car seat all ready to go. I can't believe how tiny he looks in it. Avery looked extra precious in his suit from his great-great Auntie Caroline, it fit perfectly I hope it lasts a few more wears it has little giraffes on it and I just love it.
Here we are chilling after our weight check 5lb. 7 oz, the Dr. said that was great and hopefully he will be back up to his birth weight or past it by his 2 week check next week. I can't believe he is 1 week old today!
Our visit made us a little tired.... But, I am proud to say our family of 3 made it on time to the Dr. with all members showered, cleaned up and looking good by 9:30, when do you think that will happen again. :)
This picture is from coming home Friday in the hospital. If you look closely he is saying bye-bye by to all his friends at the hospital. We had such a great experience with lots of great nurses and amazing care from my Dr. and her group.
Here we are at home with our super cute stork from our friends the Siburts and the McKinney's. I absolutely love it. Michael is worried that someone is going to steal Avery now, we never stop worrying....
We are doing well I think. Michael's Mom is here and has been an amazing help. She is going home tomorrow and Lou Lou is back for more fun. Michael goes back to work tomorrow which I am sure will lead to tears, but someone has to pay the bills I guess. I am okay since my Mom will be here but I will admit I am very scared of the day I am all by myself with Avery, it's nice to have a security to blanket.
