After doing our 'big' business, we immediately went to do even more rehersals. For some unknown reasons, I just felt more and even more confident through all the last minutes rehersals. I seriously do not like the part where I had to to Antonio's hand. Its not that I hated that person but its that my hand will sweat a lot when I am very nervous. So everytime when I am about to hold his hand, I would have to clean the sweat away first. We were all determined to do well but were all very nervous as well as earlier on that day, we watched one of our classmate's group acting. They had a lot of problems and it was not fluent at all. So we were all even more nervous after watching them performed. One of the group members from that group even cried because Mr Chan suddenly came in halfway through their play.
Soon it was the final showdown... We were all ansious but somehow, as I have mentioned earlier, I was not as anxious as I used to be. The rehersals seem to really build up my confidence.
Soon we were sitted down in the music room and the play was going to start any minute. I kept telling myself, "u can do it!"
After final good luck wishes from people around, our play started! The tension was very high but luckily, the room was air-conditioned, so it was not very hot, hence we did not have any sweat tickling down our body.
Everything went well and I was very happy with it, except for one part. I started dreaming off as it was a very long play and soon it was my turn to speak. However, I was still dreaming but luckily, I suddenly realised that everyone in the play had gone quiet so I quickly said my last few lines and was superbly embarrassed about it. Luckily that short pause was only 1-2 seconds long. PHEW! There was another part where one of my group mate screw up but i was not severe. He was Antonio and during the part where he had to talk about the wealth, he always had problems there, even during rehersals. I cannot blame him though as my scirpt is much more shorter than his. Luckily he manged to continue after 2-3 seconds of silence and all of use had i sigh of relieve.
Soon, the play was FINALLY OVER! YIPPEE!!! (: We were all very happy as the whole scirpt went extremely well. It was a very good and lucky thing that Mr Chan did not came in but i doubt that even if he had came to watch our play, it will not affext our performance. Lady luck must had been on our side on tat day! (:
We had went back to our classroom and went to changed back. Somehow, we felt a little weird when we wore back our uniform. Besides, we seem to miss our play already. I just love to repeat my lines as i just found it fun.
Am i glad that its is over. I would really like to thank my group memebers and all the audience for giving us our support, I really appreciate it. (:

Well, for this play, I was very determined to do well for it as it consist of 70% for the End-Of-Year for Literature exam! I also screwed up the last performance which is about Macbeth which was during Term 2. I was the main person so my other 2 team members will follow what I say. Everything went well except for the last part where i spoke the last sentence first, followed by the last second sentence. I did score well for that play as well so this time round I must do better! Well, for this play, I think that there was not as much time as the previous play to prepare. Or maybe time just passed too quickly and I did not realised it. After two to three weeks of having practice twice a week, which are on Monday and Wednesday.
On the first week of practice, we just started to read off from the paper to get a feeling of how it will be.
On the second week, some of us started memorising the script and soon we were already halfway through the whole script. Our script was The Merchant Of Venice so it was very long.
On the first session of the third week, we planned our props and crops which was rather troublesome. On the second session some of us just continued to memorise the script. Some of us still have not confirmed a character yet.
Soon, it was the September holidays. We were planning to meet up only on Tuesday and Wednesday.
On Tuesday, we had to finalise who was which character. Then we started the full script. I was Bassanio and i exactly 1 week left to remember the whole script. Its was a very good thing i was not Portia or I would have died long ago.
On Wednesday, we went to buy fabrics. We had a hard time as the prices were quite high but we had no choice and spent about $30. Then we went back to one of our group mate's house and think about how are we going to sew the fabrics as all the tailoring stores were too expensive. It cost abt $50 to tailor one peice of clothe!!! That is just totally ridiculous! After a while, we still could not figure a way out so we just continued our rehersal.
On Thursday only a few people turned up as there were CCAs going on so we did not do anything. On Friday, we still could not find a way on how to tailor the fabrics. So we just continued our rehersal. We did not have any rehersals during that weekend.
On Monday we met up after school and started to sew the fabrics our ownselves. We gave up soon as it took about 1 hour for one piece of clothing and the clothing was also quite ugly. Then we decided to just use an easier way out...
On Tuesday, some of my group mates brought in some malay clothings that looks a little old, so we think it suits our play as ours were unmodernised. So our props and crops were FINALLY DONE!!! (: We also did some rehersals.
The final day has arrived and my heartbeat was constant thought the whole day, constantly very high. We went out to buy some extra thing that were needed and started rehersing all the way. Luckily, our group was at 5pm. Although we had to wait a long time, we put the time to good use, in fact very good use. During that period of time, I would really like to thank my group members for helping build up my confidence. Halfway though while changing to our crops, disaster struck, i had an urgent stomachache! Luckily i brought some toilet paper from my house as i knew this always happen s whenever I am very anxious. I was not the only one! Another of my groupmate and even my director had the same issues, so we used my toilet paper that i brought from my house. (:
P.S. The play will be in the next entry post. (:

On the first Literature lesson of the weeks, Mr Chua did not come so we just chatted amoung ourselves during the free period.
On the second Literature lesson of the week, we had to do another essay. This time it was on the unseen prose passage 2. This essay was much more easier compared to the others. This time round, I have learnt my mistakes made in the past few essays and that is not having evidence from the passage or poem.
This time round, I wrote lots of evidences and I had high hopes that I will pass. This essay was also easy because all the evidences are quite easy to find. However, I was too busy finding and copying down all the essays that I actually did not write down much reasoning.
So today, I got back my paper and according to Mr Chua, I had a lot of evidences which was very good but I was not answering the question so I FAILED AGAIN! This time round i got 11/25.
Well, at least there was an improvement. So slow and steady wins the race so when EOY comes, my essay will pass.
On the first lesson of the week, Mr Chua came into our class and gave us a worksheet which is supposed to prepare us for our next essay. The passage we were going to do this time round was the unseen prose passage 2.
At first, I had no idea what story was it. Soon, Mr Chua asked us what story was this and only then i knew that the story was on a scene from The Lord Of The Rings.
This time, we are supposed to write on how the settings in the passage help enhance the atmosphere in the passage. I was very determined to get at least a pass for my essay this time round.
On the second lesson of the week, Mr Chua gave us a photo-copied version of 3 essays which were written by our classmates. I was surprised that one of my very close friend was said to be the best. Yong jie essay was the best, followed by Meng Ern and followed by Elnaz. They are not exactly the top 3 but is that they are from 3 type of 'marks range'...
Yong jie's essay was very long and wordy but it had lots of information. I doubt I can write so much in such a short period of time.
Meng Ern essay was the normal type. He could have actually scored very high marks but according to Mr Chua, he misinterpreted the question and focused on another thing and not on answering the question.
Elnaz's essay was just too basic and general as it did not provided much answering.
For this essay, I only got 9/25 marks... I am seriously very pissed off and by hook or crook, I must at least get a pass in the next essay...

On the first lesson of the week, Mr Chua came in and soon we were all seen scibbling down our essays. This time, our essay was about the unseen poem which was about Singapore River.
I only got 4/25 for the previous essay writing, I am very determined to pull back my marks.
However, this essay is different from the other essays that we wrote, for this essay, we are supposed to find out how the irony in the poem helps us understand the poem, identify the theme and talk about the metaphors instead of the P.E.E. format. Time flew past and before we knew it, the bell rang and we had to hand up our essays.
On the second Literature lesson of the week, Mr Chua came in and gave us notes about settings. I was expecting the lesson to be another dry one and indeed,it turned to be a very dry one.
He explain to us what were settings and the types of settings. Through out the whole lesson, Mr Chua told us a lot of stories, especially those from the famous storybooks but no one in my class seem to have read any before. The stories did inspire me to go and read them as the plot seems to be very interesting but I forgot most of the books as I was very sleepy and tired.

Some of the storybooks are: The Crucible, Azimov's Foundation.
When the lesson was about to end, I just kept looking at the watch waiting for the period to end so that I could see my History test results. And finally the bell rang and after thanking Mr Chua, I......
Overall, I think that this week's lesson has nothing much as we just did a essay on the first Literature lesson of the week which used up the whole entire period and the second Literature lesson was very dry.

I hope that the future lessons which are about learning new things will not be so dry again but I also do not wish to have lessons where people are called out to read an article to the whole class, I totally detest that!
However, even if the future lessons which are about learning new things are very dry, they should only be a few left as this semester is a rather short one.

On tuesday, Mr Chua did not came to school so we just sat and did nothing...
On thurday, Mr Chua did came to school but when we were all ready to scribble down on the papers our essays, Mr Chua said that our in-class essay will be postponed to next tuesday. We were all like shocked as for next monday, we will be having our Literature test which will also be on essay and that means we have to do two essays continuosly for two days!!! Give us a break man! Then Mr Chua gave a model essay that he did and of course he did way better as he is a teacher!!!
After that, we went out to the open space outside our classroom. Everybody went out slowly as it was a thursday and everybody hates thursdays as it is a super long day and it is very dry and tiring... Soon, Mr Chua briefed us on what to do and soon, we had to go to our own allocated places to start our rehersing.
The actual reherse which will also be filmed on the camera but will not be counted for SA2 marks is in about 3 weeks time!! UH OH! I think i better start memorising all the lines that i need already or i will be in deep trouble!
After a while we were halted by Mr Chua and he showed us a proper demostration of what we should all be doing. I was Bassanio (Antonio's very very good friend) and it was quite hard at some parts.
Then we were all gathered back and Mr Chua asked us a question that made me awstrucked. He asked "Why did not any of those people acting the Romeo&Juliet asked mi about the kissing scene?"
I think those people are very embarassed that is why they did not dare to ask. Then Mr Chua showed us a demostration on how to "fake kiss" with Chi Yao. It was very amazing but this is done by the teacher! If this was done by students, the whole thing might not go according to the plan. Soon the bell rang and we flew back to our classes.
For this week lesson, I think that it is very funny as it was about acting. However, I am still a little bit nervous about the actual reherse which will be coming in about 3 weeks time.

On the first Literature lesson of the week, Mr Chua came in late as Ms Tan continued teaching despite the bell rang.
When Mr Chua came in, he told us that we are running short of time and we need to do something that concerns our CA2 marks but neither of us expect something to shock us. He gave us a paper talking about what our weak points are and what we should continue to improve on and he believe that many people cheated for their essays by copying each other work which admit is true for some of my classmates (OOPS!).
So Mr Chua wanted to be fair and not mark those people who did not copy to get zero marks as it would be impossible to know which essay was the genuine piece and the copied piece. Then Mr Chua gave us all back the essays and i think everyone got 4/25... Even me too!!! I was very angry as i wrote about 4 pages long! Even though my evidences were there, Mr Chua still wrote there where are your evidences.
Haiz, never mind, so during the rewriting of the essays, I just changed all the evidences hoping that my 4 pages essay would be better. I only wrote abt 3 and a 1/2 pages long for the rewriting as there was insufficent time. I am seriously very mad that i have to rewrite the whole essay.
And Mr Chua said that in order to prevent people from copying each other work again in the future, we are going to do all essays in class. I was even more pissed off when I heard that! 45mins is just totally NOT ENOUGH TIME TO WRITE A GOOD ESSAY!!! So i guess the only way to counter that is to that hopefully, Mr Chua will give us the essay question before the day that we have to do the essay, then I can go home and plan out the whole essay, then it would not be much of a problem during the essay writing lesson...
I am seriously hoping that Mr Chua will reconsider this!!!!!
On thursday, Mr Chua came in with his laptop, and started distrubuting worksheets. Soon, we were updating our contents page for the Literature file.
My file was so thick and messy, as I have still not taken out the worksheets for semester 1 and most of them are all not filed! So i planned to go home and file but i still updated the contents page anyway.
Soon, Nadia was asked to read the first paragraph of a article which was about a woman talking about Little India. We took turns to read by asking another person to read within 5 seconds or we had to read again. Only rovin was the unlucky one to read two paragraphs. Luckily, lady luck was with me and my name was not called.
Then Mr Chua explained to us more about the article, and showed us two videos. One was about HDB flats which I see everyday and another was Little India. They were very different, in terms of houses, liveliness, convenience and the noise level... We were then asked to write down the differences between the both of them.
At that point of time, I somehow could not think of any differences.
I really hope that Mr Chua would change his mind and allow us to do our essays at home as it is exteremly troublesome and it can increase our stress level very easily too, which is very bad for our health...
