since i have no motivation to do revision, i shall blog about my council presentation on the 10th (:

jingting and i were invited to return to our internship company to do a presentation for the stakeholders. the whole process was messy and dramatic, cause we got into an argument with a lecturer due to a miscommunication. jingting and i were really pissed about it, because we felt that the angmohs were stereotyping us, and we didn't like the way they say things. plus the council presentation was fixed on the 10th! jingting and i had papers on the 9th and 11th! so damn annoying. but whatever, we did went down to the Regional Council on the 10th for presentation anyway.

so the invitation sounded really impressive. 28 major stakeholders invited, regional council invited, regional marketing invited. i was expecting a sea of blue and green eyes. but the attendance was kinda pathetic. but who cares, 1 audience and 100 audiences, i can still put it in my resume and make it sounds good.

bottom line, it is nerve-wrecking to present to a group of rural owners. It is like, we were speaking in alien language to them, and we were not down-to-earth enough (given the fact that they were nearly kissing earth - THAT DOWN OKAY)

was giving them suggestions to utilise internet marketing for their business. this oddball was like...

"NO NO NO. what is facebook? NO NO NO. it is too invasive. NO NO NO. there will be viruses!"

wtf? you are a business and you don't want people to know about you? invasive? ok, go eat grass.

i used state tourism domestic segmentation research to show them their target markets. and this SAME oddball accused me of nipping people's work! EXCUSE ME! it is not nipping okay, it is open for public use. BUT TOO BAD YOU DON'T KNOW INTERNET SO YOU CANNOT USE. and out of goodwill, i was trying to make your life better then you come and say i nipped people's work?! and please okay, uni work requires you to look at people's work and do analysis!

told them their target markets prefer kitchen facilities, then started arguing with me.

"how do you know? did you talk to any visitors? i am not going to spend ten over thousand dollars to build a kitchen..."

zzz. my point is, if you wanna continue to hit on this market, then look at their preferences and needs, then TRY your best to cater to it. OF COURSE LA, must be within your capacity. never ask you go loan from bank and build one posh 5-star kitchen right... adding microwave or basic BBQ pit also not bad what!

IF you really have phobia for kitchens, then target another market that likes... farm or something.

it was really a painful day, trying to talk sense into them. not only me and jingting, even the council and marketing people were getting alot of INTERRUPTIONS during their presentation. so rude okay!

the most amusing thing was, our host was presenting on the region, and he only included a few key towns. and this lady (sitting beside the grumpy man who said i nipped people research) was soooo offended that my host didn't include her town in the slides. ROFL. then my host explained that he only naming a few cause he couldn't fit 30 over towns in a slide, and she was still grumpy and whining about how her town has clinics, schools, supermarkets etc etc and should be considered as 'key town'. seriously FHL.

so happy singapore is all developed with everyone being so IT savvy. makes life a lot easier.

conclusion: country life is fun to stay and play, not fun to work in.

true love turns a church into a castle (:

I attended Rayson's and Shin yee's church wedding yesterday. Technically, that's my first 'friend' wedding - not those who-are-these-people weddings which I have attended several times with my mom.

What can I say! Shin yee looked gorgeous and Rayson looked really contented. The wedding started early in the morning in Wynnum Baptist Church. The music began to play and Rayson started singing. I can't really remember the lyrics, but it was something like, 'What did I do to deserve a gift like you...' MAD SWEET! not to mention that Rayson sings very well AND *drum roll* the couple WROTE THE SONG. no wonder I can't find that song online. They should consider making it into a MP3 for people to download.

and here came the bride, clinging onto her daddy's arm, walking down the aisle with grace. seriously, I teared. Never seen such a beautiful bride in my life (of course I will be the next!) and Shin yee began to sing in duet with Rayson! That can never happen to me because I can't sing fml! I could hear that Shin yee was trembling, but still, it was her big day so she could be nothing but perfect.

After walking down the aisle, the pastor began to quote phrases off the bible, telling the couple what they should do to have a lasting and happy marriage. Very enlightening indeed.

Corinthians 13:4-8 Love is patient, love is kind, it does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud, it is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.

The highlight: exchanging of vows. Gosh, I cried like Rayson is my son and Shin yee is my daughter. hahahaha. It was really sweet. 2 simple words 'I do' mould two to form one. And the wedding band is a circle which goes round and round, never ending but signify a new beautiful beginning. (and I saw the wedding ring, damn pretty)

After exchanging the vow, Rayson sang a song to his wife. sighh, Shin yee is so lucky, now that she has her own song. Excuse me, where is mine. ahem.

Next programme was videos of the wedding photos (why brides always so chio), and a video of the couple sharing their love story, from the very beginning of their relationship to where they are now. I think my relationship also quite cool and interesting to share, can compete. not bad not bad.

Anyway, by that time, my eyeballs were almost falling out (same for Qiao Fei, FOL we are both crybabies) and the bride and groom wanted to give a speech. And while the bride spoke about their tough times together, the groom started crying! (and my tissues were running low)

TO ALL GUYS OUT THERE, it is damn sweet for a guy to cry at his own wedding. So not to worry, just cry. All the girls out there will go 'awwww', not 'ewwww'. Because it simply shows how much you cherish the girl and the relationship, and shows that you are a sentimental man! Sentimental man = awesome man.

And yeah, after all the crying, I needed food damn badly so headed off to the buffet and some photo taking.

I AM SO ADDICTED TO WEDDINGS NOW (: HOPE MORE OF MY FRIENDS CAN GET MARRIED SOON SO I CAN GO AND WAIL AND AWWW.

there is no point carrying a heavy load and not feeling any pressure. it simply means you are not climbing upwards.

I am feeling the pressure, I am climbing upwards, I must reach the top. I must never settle for anything lesser than first.

during stressful times, I will repeat silently to myself...

'the well I'm digging right now will soon produce sweet water.'

this is what you have promised, and this will be what that keeps me going.
