JULY 17/ AUG 5 - US undergrad forum at HC

Hello, I'm helping to spread this message for Mrs Soo :D
The tentative date is this coming friday, but they're proposing a new date of 5 August 09, 4-6pm LT2.

~~

Dear Hwa Chong alumnus,

Hello! Hwa Chong’s Education and Career Guidance Unit is holding its US Undergrad Forum on 17 July, 4-6pm. We are inviting all ex-students who have studied in the US or are presently studying at a US college/University to come share their experiences with interested juniors! Some of you were able to make it back last year, while others of you were not able for one reason or another. Do participate in the event if you are able!

We are still in the process of amassing alumni support for the event, but the event details are (broadly) as follows:

1. Timing/ Scheduled date:

The HCI US Undergrad Forum is scheduled to take place on 17 July, from 4-6pm.

2. Formal Presentations: 3 or 4 representatives. 2 second-year perhaps holding positions in the alumni associations, 1 third-year/ graduated student? Let's try to cover different regions; differences between private, public schools, etc., major differences? Content of presentation(s) - what their juniors should expect, what their individual study experiences have been like, what are some things they should do to help them adjust, etc. Present undergrads would be in a better position to advise on what this list of helpful topics looks like. Will need someone to be coordinating this - do volunteer if you are able!

3. Question-and-answer/ Forum session: Pls do not feel compelled to make a presentation, nor disappointed if you do not get a chance to. We feel the junior-senior interaction is what's crucial in this event so any presentations should offer an overview of what your juniors should expect in the respective US schools. Come with your best advice instead!

4. Informal session (break-out session/ each school's reps has a booth to themselves): Hope also to have a huge pool of first, second year contacts on hand to address students' queries after the formal presentation session. Yes, do invite anyone interested in making contributions to their alumni! ;) Every alumus will be introduced as an important contact that can help address queries of prospective/ interested applicants, and whom they can approach individually (and can possibly get further information from) after the formal presentation and QnA sessions.

Pls do direct any concerns over the US Undergrad forum to myself; you may send anyone else whom you know and might be interested to help this email - the event has in the past been pretty much student-initiated!
