Anyway guys, I was kind of upset today because my flight is cancelled due to the snowstorm in the midwest...and i can only fly (if nothing happens, pray for me) on the 23rd and arrive on the 25th. When i saw the flight cancellation i called the airline and after finding out that the next available flight is a whole week later, i was so disappointed that i cried T_T

yuling's post cheered me up kind of, and i so want a class gathering too! too bad i only have two weeks (at best) in sg, so i hope we can all meet up together a day or two... i reply by saying any day between dec 25 - jan 6 is good!

also, something to share about life over here...
The past week has been finals week, so i have literally been camping at the underground library lounge with 2 of my electrical engineering friends for a week and a half! this is due mainly to laziness and procrastination during the semester leading to a flurried and hurried attempt to learn everything in 1/15th of the normal time. so i promise not to let that happen the next semester (read on to see why this is so crucial)

anyway the lounge is great because it is open 24/7, has a counter selling coffee, tea and PASTRIES. my favourite yum yum is the chocolate chip chocholate muffin top! i eat on average, 3 muffin tops every day. best of all, it's connected underground to the food court in another building, so we don't have to brave the weather. yes, i hate the weather here with a passion now after my flight was cancelled T_T

so after all the finals (two of which were really hard, like the average is estimated at lower than FAIL) i emailed a professor about doing undergraduate research.

surprise, surprise! he replied me 3 hours after i hit the send button... and his secretary scheduled for a meeting the next afternoon. after doing last minute research on his papers etc. i went to the new Neil Armstrong building (do you know that the first and last man on the moon graduated from Purdue?)

So i went into Prof balakrishnan's office and he started telling me things about research and graduate school, asking me about my areas of interest, the classes i took etc. Then came the punchline 'I don't take undergraduate students for my research. All the researchers in my team are graduate students' i went thinking 'oh maybe he's just sharing some information on research and doesn't want me on his team after all' how disappointing! And then he said 'but i think you are a smart person and looking at your resume, i am willing to let you be the first undergraduate student in my team' whoop! but i've been given lots of responsibilites and many of the things i have to develop on my own first before presenting the specific area of interest where i want to research (so i can take the extra 'snow-day' time to do some homework)

so five electrical engineering classes (no joke) plus research next sem = busy busy semester. really wanna go home so badly for christmas and rest up before the start of spring 2008! i don't mind a busy semester if it's rewarding =) but i really want to meet up with some of u guys!

All i want for christmas....is to be at home...

is this blog reliable as an announcement board??Yes this is one of my once-in-a-blue-moon visits..but I've good news!I would like to organise a class gathering except..it's going to be my treat!yep..I remember an unearthly time in the morning 2 years ago when u guys came all the way to the airport to send me off for the 2005 SEA games..that was my very first SEA games gold..now 2007 in Korat, Thailand, we did it agin:)
I know many of us lead our pretty much busy,independent lives and don't have much chance to meet up/contact/update each other as a class (ok,im speaking of my guilty self) so when a golden opportunity comes along...haha.
I need to know when everyone can make it though..Which day would be good?before or after christmas?weekend or weekday?So if you see this, do respond!in any form of communication u like!
