But we also got our chance paka against the guys. At first i taught them to suicide, them all stare blank at me. Suicide means to scratch- hit white ball in, then let ur buddy after u to ball in hand, den they r free to hai some1. So we had fun... pakaing more than playing... haha.

After dinner, we played bball in the dark. Shuang. Huimin's condo de bball court v shuang. Beside a lang gao... just beside railway track. Middle in the night got train pass by... then in e dist, u can see the flickering lights of some1 living alone beside e tracks. Eh... ghostly sia. Anyway playing in e dark... can only kao feel. i agree with dr on at least one count which is perception is reality. 'truth' is what's perceived, and our means of sensing is limited as it is (landscapes to bats are like what, barely audible echoes to us). people assume alot (which i attitribute to our habit of perceiving things as truth), and i'm assuming tt dr is being encouraging and not painting a 'perfect picture of happiness' of e world, but a relative one (i find tt fertilisation example abit overused tho lol), so..yeah we shouldnt take blessings for granted. But then only a fine line separates sanguine from delusional. I held the belief tt u'll find a way 'when there's a will right?' but what if another person has an opposing will? The 'way' is not definite. of cuz happiness is a choice and if u're shuang shuang regardless of pple's take on you, then u're cool. (strangely tho, i've never respected that ah Q dude)
as for the child in everyone, i think it never really goes away =) people can never be wise enough
just something i don't understand tho, what's tt appeal of 'innocence' when it's being 'unknowing of evil'? i feel 'childhood innocence' belongs on e same platform as 'dumb blonde' and 'filthy rich' - the underlying description aint appropriate.

anyways i think bug's reminder's worth repeating
"honour the spirit of Christmas...spread love and remember the pple less fortunate in this season of giving..."

Polar Xpress...
Saturday, December 11, 2004 / 1:30 PM / boonshan

hmm..anione happens to have watched the polar express?? Ok, this sounds childish, but i haf to clarify: I DIDNT WATCH IT OUT OF MY OWN ACCORD!!! but i digress.. ok, pt being, the poem yh posted reminds me of the movie..about how as a child we hold on to the belief in Santa n the spirit of Christmas but as we eventaully grow up, we gradually lose this belief n faith..n according to the movie, tis rather sad..
maybe i've grown to be cynical, but somehow, i dun totally agree..(sorrie yh.. :P) it's not tt i view life as sad n meaningless, but somehow over the years, i've come to deviate from the belief tt the world is a perfect picture of happiness. We can't change the imperfect world, but wad we can do is to accept them n then alter our attitude. As for the movie, well , i guess it does fine in preserving the innocence in children, but for me, it paints too beautiful a picture. Many of us honour the spirit of Christmas, but how many of us actually do spread love and remember the pple less fortunate in this season of giving?
But, one thing that i agree with the movie..the things that are the most important are those that cannot be seen..

Merry Christmas :)

POEM
Friday, December 10, 2004 / 9:44 PM / Diego Ryo

found a poem on the web, its very heartwarming...

Snowflakes softly falling
Upon your window they play
Your blankets snug around you,
Into sleep you drift away.

I bend to gently kiss you,
when I see that on the floor
there's a letter, neatly written
I wonder who it's for.

I quietly unfold it
making sure you're still asleep,
It's a Christmas list for Santa
one my heart will always keep.

It started just as always
with the toys seen on TV,
A new watch for your father
and a winter coat for me.

But as my eyes read on
I could see that deep inside
there were many things you wished for
that your loving heart would hide.

You asked if your friend Molly
could have another Dad,
It seems her father hits her
and it makes you very sad.

Then you asked dear Santa
if the neighbors down the street
Could find a job, that he might have
some food, and clothes, and heat.

You saw a family on the news
whose house had blown away.
"Dear Santa, send them just one thing,
a place where they can stay."

"And Santa, those four cookies that
I left you for a treat,
could you take them to the children
who have nothing else to eat."

"Do you know that little bear I have
the one I love so dear?
I'm leaving it for you to take
to Africa this year."

"And as you fly your reindeer
on this night of Jesus' birth,
Could your magic bring to everyone
goodwill and peace on earth".

"There's one last thing before you go,
so grateful I would be,
If you'd smile at Baby Jesus
in the manger by our tree."

I pulled the letter close to me,
I felt it melt my heart.
Those tiny hands had written
what no other could impart.

"And a little child shall lead them",
was whispered in my ear
As I watched you sleep on Christmas Eve
while Santa Claus was here.

As we grow older and more mature, as we leave childhood and step into adulthood, inevitably we would gain something and would lose something. Experience, memory, knowledge, and oso many troubles and worries and factors of insecurity in life we would gain. Lost are those innocence a child holds, sometimes our passion for life, sometimes the simple and pristine joy we once had, our dreams and ambitions when we were small kiddies, our wish to be a superman and save the world.

As we learn more about life and living, we would see many dark sides of life as the phrase we so often heard in GP suggests, "Life is not a bed of roses"

but to me, life is what and how u perceive it is. There is NO absolute truth abt it. A crisis can be a turning point. A failure can be a starting point. If we see life as full of roses, and it will be so.

whenever u feel down, dejected, depressed, feeling tt u r a loser, do not lose faith in ur life. u r not alone in these struggles (or challenges) in life. many of us are facing different problems in life everyday. And u r already a winner to have lived thus far (u r the only one out of the millions of sperm cells that successfully fertilese the egg, and successfully grow and learn from an embryo to a 17-yr-old life entity). continue to be a winner!

okay, i have digressed. regarding the poem, i think the take-home-and mull-over-b4-sleeping-message is that we shall always keep the child in us, no matter how mature we are, we muz not lose the very pure and pristine child that we once were.

*ok, it sounded very preaching, cliched to some of u perhaps. aniway, juz a rambling of mine. do comment if u have, and do blog more :)
