During the day I experience all sorts of cute topics that would make great blog posts and then when I get the time at night to sit down and record them, I've totally forgotten what was so cute or funny. I'm not fond of writer's block!
Speaking of writing, I just remembered that Kyra has to give the talk in Primary tomorrow...I suppose I'd better jot down some notes for her since I'm sure she forgot as well. It would have been nice to have had a reminder phone call since she was assigned the talk on the 2nd of this month...but I digress....

Laid to Rest
This past week we have had the opportunity as a family to come together and honor the man who lead our family for a long time. My grandfather passed away on the 13th of January and we celebrated his life on the 19th of January and laid him to rest on the 22nd of January. Here are a couple of pictures I got during the graveside service.

Always up for a laugh
Saturday we needed to go shopping for funeral attire. (My grandpa Willard Lanning passed away Thursday, January 13, 2011) We met with my mom, had lunch and then went to the mall where we met up with my Aunt Carol, Uncle Evan and cousin Derek.
While Carol, my mom, and I were looking for dresses, Evan and Derek were watching my kids. While there, they saw the sketch artist machine and Jacob suckered them into letting him get his photo done.
When we came out of the store, we couldn't stop laughing at the great photo and threatened each other with getting a whole family photo shoot later in the day. After a few hours, we were back in front of the same store. I'm not sure if it was funny because of lack of sleep due to grief, or what, but we gave in at the end.
Hopefully these will give those of us who were there a fun memory and a giggle when we see them!

M is for Megan
This child gives me lots of grief. I don't even want to think about what kind of a teenager she'll be. I love her more than she knows, but after tonight, I want a vacation from her attitude and temper. Oh the joys of motherhood!

2011 Calendar
I am a calendar lover. I used to get calendars for Christmas and would actually get excited. Maybe it's because I love the idea of being organized. I'm not very organized, at least in accordance to my standards although other people might think I am.....whatever.
So this year is no exception. I decided to by my calendar early because I needed to mark some appointments down before Christmas...
Anywho...
I found a calendar that I love and have decided that along with Maxine, (who is the main subject of the calendar) I would post the monthly quote.
So without further ado:
I love Maxine and laugh out loud with all of her quips and quotes, even if she is a cartoon.

"I came up with a creative way to make ice sculptures. I spray passersby with the garden hose".
