Singing Program

Kristiana was so excited to have her third grade singing program.  I was just glad that it wasn't on the same night as soccer.

Mr. Coonz her music teacher.  It was too busy to get a second shot.  He is passionate about music and the kids are picking up on that.  Kristiana enjoys music and when he asked her to just do the chimes unrehearsed she was thrilled to do it - and did a great job.

Field Day

The school district hosts a field day every year for all the fifth graders.  I was unable to volunteer to help, but I was able to stop by for about half an hour and take some pictures of Brenden.
All the kids in his school were told to wear a white shirt.  About 2/3 of the other schools did the same so it was a sea of white shirts.  It was thanks to my long zoom lens that I was able to find him - and a red headed classmate.
Brenden had a lot of fun and had no idea that I was even there - though he said he looked for me.  If we weren't volunteering we had to stay in the bleachers.
Brenden almost won one event but he had a blast and that is what counts.

14th Anniversary

We went to Ocean Prime for dinner and truly enjoyed our evening out.

It has been a wonderful and sometimes challenging 14 years. I hope we have many more like it.

Happy Mother's Day!

Jeff and the kids brought me breakfast in bed.
The Bishopric still had meetings so it was just me and the kids most of the day.
Natalie wanted to take my picture.

Science Fair - Cereal Numbers

Brenden chose to do his project on soggy cereal.  He thought it sounded fun and he would get to eat all these great cereals.
He did the research.  He ran the experiment.  He wrote the report.  All he had left to do was make the board when we learned exactly when the Science Fair was.  And Brenden had a conflict.  We let him choose and it was no surprise when he chose soccer over science fair.  We figured the important part was learning to do and complete the project.  I am sad that he missed the Science Fair, but glad that we didn't know about the conflict.  He did such a great project.

Jazz Band - The End

of the year that is.  Jeremy has had so much fun performing with the Jazz Band.  As a final hurrah they wore church clothes instead of their uniform and played all the songs from the year.
Jeremy had a few solos and did great.  Though he is enjoying sleeping in on Tuesdays and Thursday now that the year is completed.  Cause they met in the morning before school to keep out of conflicts with sports.

Brenden & Soccer

Brenden has been asking to play soccer for a couple years now.  This year became the year.
Keeper is not his favorite position - but he is so good at it that he always does the first half of the game with this position.

After half-time the gloves come off (literally!) and he is all over the field.
He puts his whole heart and soul into playing this game.  I have a feeling this sport is here to stay for awhile.
