Crawling 101

Step One: Find something good to crawl to.

Step Two: Get a good grip with one foot.

Step Three: Get a good grip with second foot. Can't really see it?

How's this? Step Four: Move each foot forward seperately, then go back to knees and move hands forward. Repeat, until you reach your destination.

We've been seeing this crawl for the last week. It's been the only way she would move forward. Till now. She's finally comfortable enough to simply crawl. I'm going to miss the old way. I hope she doesn't stop. I haven't caught it on film yet.

I love this face. She makes it frequently. Isn't she cute?

Preschool

Natalie loved the playschool that she attended at the local high school. Mrs. Green is so good with both her high school students and her little ones. Natalie went two days a week and it was not enough for her.

We are so sad it is over, but I found a week long preschool that she will attend in a few weeks. Yeah!!! Three hours a day, for five consecutive days. I'm already thinking of everything I can get done before my kids are home for the summer.

Natalie loves to do what the older kids are doing and these programs are so inexpensive and helpful. Most days she even wore a school uniform that Anna has out grown. Hmmm, maybe i should have the older kids teach her letter recognition. She's not interested when I do it....

She's a moving

She's been rolling, but she figured out that she can use that skill to get places.
This was the first night that she scooted off the rug onto the wood. She discovered that she can really move on the wood and was so happy.
She's a cutie. And I think she'll be crawling forward by the end of next week. She's so close. She goes backwards, sideways, in a circle and at church today she went forward about a few inches - but it was more of a lunge.
Why haven't we been blogging? Projects at home (both for Jeff and for me), projects at school for both boys, sports, dance, life, Natalie(!!), doctors, and interrupted sleep. Here's hoping that things are starting to turn around.

Devil Rays

April always means the beginning of baseball season. I forgot my camera opening day and then both boys missed the first official game because it was the same night as the derby and we weren't missing that. So this was the first Saturday game. This year both boys are on the same team.

The Devil Rays

Jeff is head coach this year and because of the rain the pitcher's mound was covered. When that happens apparently the coach has to pitch. So he wore his arm out. I think he was glad when the officials came over after three innings and uncovered the mound. The kids were happy too.

Jeremy dodged quite a few throws from this pitcher, but this one he connected with.
Brenden also managed to connect with this swing. He's a little leary of a kid pitcher. It's his first year an adult hasn't pitched to him. He's getting the hang of it.
Jeremy played catcher this game. Since then Brenden has as well - but I didn't have my camera that day.
Grandpa came and watched the game. He's a good sport and helped with the kids. He's in heaven at these games and getting his attention off the game takes work, but Tabitha was up for the job.
Grandma is all about girl time at the ball games. The girls love spending time with her, she usually brings treats and will take them sixteen times to the bathroom. A good fit all around.
Team banner.
Keep your eye on the ball. Sometimes I think it would serve him right to get hit for all the looking around I see. But he always seems to look in the nick of time.
He also pitched. He was thrilled, and will continue to work on that feat through out the season.
I snapped this by accident and love it. I think I'll print this and put it on the wall of their new room. I'll title it Brothers in Sports.
It was a good game and we only were rained on a little bit. Good thing I finally got around to purchasing a golf umbrella. Tabitha stayed dry.
The season is always a rocky road for me. I enjoy that the boys enjoy it, but it feels like it takes over. I'm adjusting. Only this time the girls both have dance going as well. It makes for a crazy week.
Those are only some of the reasons I haven't been blogging.

Pinewood Derby

Back on April 28th our cub scouts had their Pinewood derby. This was Jeremy's second derby and Brenden's first.

They both worked hard on their cars with their dad.

We actually had trouble finding time for Jeff to help them, but they managed to get done in time for the race.

The finished products. Both of them were happy with their final project. Very important.

It was a very intense race. There were fourteen cars. That's a great turn out for us.

Jeremy took Third!!!!! He was a contender for second, but his car jumped the track. Such as racing goes.Last year he finished close to the bottom so he was very happy this year.

Brenden tied for fourth. We didn't run that tie so we don't know how he would have done.

All in all both boys left happy.
Can't wait for next year. Kinda sad, it'll be Jeremy's last derby.
