Some Blocks

First up here are the June blocks from Margaret.  They are delightful. I also got some gorgeous fabric too.

Also these are the blocks I sent to Sue for August

Then these are my September Blocks I am sending out to Brenda using some of my 1930's stash.

Canadian Stars

Maria from Canada is my August partner, and although I have not heard from her, I still got myself busy and made her blocks.

Maria requested Star blocks in white or off white, blues and yellow.
I certainly hope that these two fit the bill.  The yellow fabric (border of star on left)  is some of the oldest in my stash and featured in the first queen bed quilt that I ever made.

Tic Tac Toe

Everyone knows how to play it, and my partner for April, new member Megan requested this cute block in civil war fabrics.  I flicked through my Farmers wife quilting book to get a feeling for the fabrics used in this era.

I dont have a lot of civil war in my stash, but thought the left over scraps from my jelly roll quilt were very civil war like, so used them to make one block with the other being made from fabric in my stash.

These will be travelling West in no time at all, I hope Megan likes them

Susans Batik Butterflys

Susan was my Partner in this group for May and her request was Butterfly blocks in Batik fabrics.  I was keen to do these for her, as I am practicing my new Foundation piecing skills.

I did find these surprisingly easy to make, partially because the batik fabric does not have a right or wrong side (or at least I couldn't tell if it did), so there were less mistakes for me = less unpicking. Susan they will be fluttering to you this week
