Kids Comments This Week

Z - "I'm starving. Okay, I'm not 'starving' - if you haven't eaten in like 99 days - then you'd be starving. But I'm really hungry." How true I thought. (:
Ak - picked out some notes on the piano on her own . . . noticed it was a primary song!!! (: "If I listen with my heart." So this is her second portion of a song she is playing a lot now. The first is "Jolly Old St. Nicholas". I am impressed.

Circus

The kids got coupons at school to go to the circus for free! Adults were ten bucks - but I figured for three kids free and never having been to a live circus - it would be fun. When D heard we were going he said he felt bad that he would miss our kids first circus . . . I thought that was sweet - but I told him it was at the national guard building - inside - so how big could it really be??? That made him feel better! This was the only "tent" we saw. (: They invited the kids to sit right next to the edge of the ring. I liked those that did stunts in the air!

I warned the kids there probably wouldn't be any big animals - I was right! But there were a few animals. (:

Yes, that's a kangaroo!?!?My kids did great at the beginning and in the middle - not begging for the stuff that was being sold! During a few breaks when they advertised Circus coloring books and ballons - my kids asked if we were getting one - I said "no" and they were like "we didn't think so." And that was it - no crying or whining - I was impressed and I thanked them afterwards! Z was like, "yea, they were just trying to make money." (: I guess I must have said that a few times. (:

We got to climb on a "real" tank outside after the show. They said they had a good time and were glad they went! And we bought nothing - so it was only 10 bucks for 4 people's entertainment - not bad. (: As we walked to our van - we witnessed a lady drive her van into a ditch - she had two wheesl off the ground - I helped her get back on the road - made me feel strong. (:

1st Grade Spring Field Trip

The first graders went to the Planetarium. Here's B with her friend Emily from the bus and her good buddy Madelyn from her Kindergarten class last year. Both girls are in class together this year. It's always fun to see friends! I got to ride the bus with the class. Her class in their seats . . .
the seats recline - fun to figure that out. (: The machine that does the show!

We took a break between shows for lunch outside.
B's teacher: Ms. Boone
It was a good fieldtrip! I'm glad I got to go with her class!

Time Out

I got to go to a Time Out for Women!!! I am a fan!!!
We got to Nashville early and stopped at a mall . . . saw this LONG line wrapped around the mall. We were curious what it was - I leaned over a railing to check to see what type of store it was down a level and then it hit me - that my nephew had posted on FB something about a new iPad coming out at 5 PM EST on 3/11 - I was excited to share my knowledge and act like I was in the know! (: I had my friend take a picture with her phone so I could email it to him to share in the excitement! He wrote back telling me he had woken up that day at 4 AM when it went on sale online and bought one! Saved him from standing in line in the COLD in NYC! Yes I too wish this picture was bigger! But it's all I have. . . This lady is so cute! (Do you see her green shoes in her hand? She said she wore her first pair of shoes at age 13 and she's still not used to them!) Her story is heartbreaking and amazing!!! I got to ride down there with 4 neat ladies from my parent's ward (although I did take a nap since I only got 2 hours of sleep the night before). We ate a YUMMY dinner at the Cheesecake Factory!!! Then I got to ride back with 2 great gals from my ward.
The weather was beautiful and the speakers were all great! I hope I can act on the things that I felt inspired to do while there . . . three big ones:
"The Lord lives, he loves me, and he is aware of me and my situation."
"GET YOUR HOUSE IN ORDER. purdge, PURDGE, PURDGE. "
"Enjoy your children today. You have eternity to spend with them as adults, but only a few years with them as a child."

I thought the closing prayer to the event was well said, she thanked Heavenly Father for the hours the presenters have spent in perfecting their talents. (: I'm glad I was there while they shared!!! And thank you to D for taking the kids for the whole weekend to see his Dad and brother!

Bounce filled Birthday

I can't afford this place "just for fun" - so it's always fun to get invited to a birthday party here!

Zs last game

A week early - due to a trip out of town for the last game weekend. He didn't play his classmate, N, tonight - but they saw each other after the game!
To celebrate we went and got sundaes afterwards.

Ak has piano skills

I took a video - but I can't download it . . . sorry. She picked up how to play the beginning to "Jolly ol' St. Nicolas" all by herself!!! (: It's impressive to me! She loves to play it over and over and to who ever will listen to her! I need to teach her the rest! (:

Dr. Suess's B-day

This was taken this summer - but appropriate today! (:When I went into volunteer on my regular day, B's teacher and her husband were making GREEN eggs and GREEN ham. I did not like them B I am. Despite the amount of green food coloring in them, I tried them and they were okay.
I stopped Z's classroom and found the Cat and the Hat!

I got a Passport!

On Christmas Eve, D told me I could go see my parents as my present! (That it was okay if I was gone, he would help with the kids, etc.) Well, today I bought a plane ticket to Taiwan!!! I'm leaving in 5 weeks for 10 days!!!
I have so much to do before then! It's a little overwhelming to think about getting it all done - I might even have to not attend some things and STAY HOME to get it done (not my normal style) but that's my goal! I've never been west of California - so this will be my first time over the Pacific Ocean!
