Early Summer Updates

Even though I haven't been updating every week doesn't mean we haven't been up to anything this summer.  So I will update some of the things we have been up to lately.

We will start with  Jorrin

In May the Eshelles had a weekend retreat at their advisor's cabin in Enterprise.  I was able to go up with the girls and had a lot of fun.  They did a lot of team building activities like these:

We also played some games like family fued, and they got to know each other by talking,

and of course they ate and ate and ate

they also had plently of down to to mess around and get to know each other more.

they had so much fun together that after they got home on Sat they met that night at the boys baseball game to cheer them on for their run at State (which they won by the way, Congrats SC boys baseball 2012 3-A state campions)!

The end of May they had their first team night where they met at the park and everyone brought a salad to try and they made tye-dye shirts for camp.

Jorrin also went to Lagoon the first weekend in June with some of the girls from last years dance co.  She had so much fun but said it was cold the whole day.

June 12-15 Jorrin had her first drill team camp experience.  I think she was a little overwhelmed but made it through.  Their camp was in town but they were able to stay in a hotel to keep the team from distractions and to bond more as a team.  The first night she called not feeling to good about things so the next day i left a little cheer up treat at the hotel and i think that helped her get through the rest of the week.

Its always hard to keep the kids from getting bored in the summer so one night Terry and I took the two little girls to the splash pad in town and then got a snow cone.  We have also made our weekly stops at the library to get books and movies (they love this for some reason and I'm not going to argue, they don't know its good for them too, haha).

Jacielyn's soccer team signed up for the summer games again this year one big difference between this year and years past was they actually made it the whole weekend they ended up playing for the gold medal which they didn't win but everyone was so excited to get the silver medal and to have made it that far this year, we are so proud of how well Jaicelyn played and her team.

Playing volleyball while waiting for their medal.

Also Jantzyn had swimming lessons.  This was her first year to do it alone.  Jaice passed level five twice so I told her she was done even though she would have loved to do it again.  Jantzyn loved every minute of swimming lessons and i could really see a difference from the start day to the day she passed.

And Jadyn is still plugging along with her knee.  We took he in to see the doctor the Monday after she dislocated her knee again and he gave us good news that nothing was torn and she didn't have to have surgery yet (if she does it one more time she for sure will), but she did have to go to physical therapy about 4 times and has been doing exercises and icing at home everyday.  Last week she went back in and he told her
everything was still looking good she has more range of motion back everyday and that she would be able to play in the Dixie camp.  Although she was a little disappointed she really wanted to play in the UVU camp they are going to this week (that is where she would like to go to school) he told her only if it was critical should she take the risk of hurting it again before she is fully healed.  She is still going up with the team and she can participate in the team training and video training but won't be able to scrimmage.  Her coach said he will introduce her to the UVU coaches and let them know what a good player she is so at least they will hopefully know to look for her throughout this season.

She has still been going to all the conditioning practices everyday and tries to do as much as she can.

Jadyn with some of the other gimps on the team.  This year they have had quite a few get hurt.  But hopefully they will all be at their top game when the season starts.
