Jadyn and My Interior Design Project

At the end of nineth grade when Jadyn and I were going over her electives for 10th grade. I suggested she should try Interior Design. I had taken the class in high school and thought it was fun. Little did we know the teacher teachs the class like it is a college level class and is a perfectionist. Needless to say Jadyn hated the class all semester. So when it was time for her to do her final project, I told her I would help. I didn't know it would involve 4 straight nights of us (let me rephrase that), me doing nothing else (seriously my other children and Terry were neglected). But we eventually got it done and I was quite proud of the way it turned out. She even recieved an award for "best use of color". But most important she got an A on the project and in the class. I also want to thank her friend Kendall for allowing us to tear apart her project from the previous year and use what we wanted.

We did save this project incase Jorrin (if I let her) decides she wants to take the class.

Jorrin's first powder puff game!

They usually do the eighth vs. nineth powder puff game during the thanksgiving season. But this year it was raining and got postponed until Christmas. But it was also raining so they did it in the Gym. Not as fun but she still got to play. Waiting for the game to start.

She looks mean!!! And she was..

She tackled (pulled the flag) of the reciever of the other team on this play, stopping them from getting a touch down. The nineth graders won but it was close. I can't remember the score but I think they lost by 2 touchdowns. Jorrin says she will definitly play again next year.

Christmas Family Party Dec 23 2010

This year's family party was a little different then years past. Usually we go to pirate island and then to someone's house. THis year everyone was tired of pirate island (the adults) and so everycouple of days starting about a week before the girls would get a clue and a piece to a puzzle with part of instructions on how to get where we would have our family party. After recieving all the pieces we follwed a round about way to get to Stacy and Ben's house. The kids put on the nativity and we had appetizers (i forgot my camera and noone has updated their blog yet (Robyn) so no pictures of that this year.

After recieving a new map we all ended up at Grandma and Grandpa's for dinner. Jadyn and Tavin envious they are stuck at the kids table instead of the adult table.

The buffet table.
Everyone again recieved a map and ended up at our house for...

Sundae's and....

to watch Nativities of years past. They were pretty funny. I think we have gotten a lot better and putting on the Nativity since then, well if you like a proper Nativity that is.
We then headed to one more house. Robyn and Adams to play games and open presents.
Tavin beating Jadyn in "who can suck up the smarties faster" game.

Callie, Jorrin, Austin, and Uncle Bud spelling out "Merry Christmas" with their bums.

Austin had to kiss someone under the Mistletoe. Luckly his mom was their to rescue him.

Jantzyn and Gentry just so happy to be together.

Grandma, Stacy, and Grandpa spelling Elf with their bodies.

Jaicelyn singing for our short talent show portion of the evening. I say short because whenever we say who wants to do a talent it proceeds to end up lasting a least an hour. So this year grandma picked to groups to do a talent. Thanks grandma!

All the grandkids in their PJ's from Grandma and Grandpa.

The kids giving uncle brandon a hug after he gave them each $5.00.

And of course what would a Christmas Party be without Grandpa taking a little nap. This year it was ok because I think it was around 12:00 am this was taken. Usually he's out by 8:00.

Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas....2010

This year December went by way too fast for me. I didn't feel like I really got to enjoy the season. We did get to do a couple of our usuall traditions though.
The girls so excited to go look at Christmas lights on Christmas Eve after our yummy Christmas Eve dinner.

Our favorite house. I think we stopped at this house 3 times this year and just sat and watched the lights light up to music.

The girls always sleep together in Jorrin's room. THis year Jantzyn made her own bed in a little nook and then they watched Ice Age 3 before the vision of sugar plums entered their heads.

Going to bed on Christmas Eve.

Waking up on Christmas.

Before the mayhem.

Waiting on the stair to come up to the wonders of Christmas.

Santa was good to us again this year. Terry got a shirt, some socks, Bon Jovi and Jazz game tickets.

Jadyn got a camera.

Some really cool pictures of her soccer season. She also got some new clothes, a sonicare toothbrush, and a soccer snow globe to add to her snow globe collection.

Jorrin recieved her long awaited garbage can (yes she really did ask Santa for a garbage can).

She also got some boots, a leather jacket, a sonicare toothbrush, and lots of clothes.

Jaicelyn got her pillow pet panda.
An mp3 player, a bike, and some wii and ps games.

Jantzyn got her pillow pet Dolphin,

a bike, some littlest pet shop stuff, a ds game, and a dog that barks, walk, and flips.

after the mayhem.

I recieved but didn't get a picture of it my blog put to print. It was my favorite thing. We also got some new toys for downstairs. A gently used hockey table

and pool table. THanks Robyn for helping make our Christmas bright.
I hope everyone else had a wonderful Christmas of 2010 as we did. Merry Christmas!

Jaice and Jantzy's bike ride

It only took 3 days but the girls were finally able to ride their new bikes they got from Christmas. Terry took them down to the church after work and they rode until it was too dark to see them anymore. Jaicelyn cruising along.

You can barely see Jantzyn with her helmet, but she it loving every minute of it.

The good daddy walking around the church to make sure Jantzyn is ok.

What I have learned from life

As I sit here and write this at 5:45 this morning my heart is very full. Last night we learned that some good acqaintanances of our's lost two of their children Sat. (10 year son, 7 year old son), and their 18 yr old and 8 yr old daughter's were also injured in a car accident in Logan. After we told the girls, Terry gave the family prayer and something he said gave me so much comfort. He said "Because they have been sealed together as a family in the temple, and live the convenants they made there, they will be able to be together again as a family and they will be able to continue to raise their boys again someday".
I am sooo thankful I have this knowledge in my and my families life. Its time like these that life and what it is all about is put into perspective. So today when your little ones wake up, give them an extra tight hug and an extra kiss and remember how lucky we are to have them, and the knowledge we have of the gospel, and that we get them forever no matter how long we get them on this earth if we do what it right.

Jorrin's performance at the 2nd Annual Kalamity dance for a Cause show

This is the 2nd year Jorrin has been in Tia's adult Hip Hop group "Kalamity's" Fund Raiser. Last year it was for a Teacher/dancer that had taught Jorrin who had cancer. This year it was for Riley Slack a beautiful little girl that has a a life threatening, uncureable disease. I was so proud of Jorrin and how much she got how important this performance was. She came home several times and said how well she wanted to do for little Riley. The whole concert was awesome and you could feel how important every single dancer thought it was to be dancing for Riley.

Jorrin's dance group with their awesome dance teacher Tia.

A little blurry but you can still make out Jorrin being funky in her hip hop dance.

Jorrin geting ready to do a jump in her cheer routine.

All the girls with cute little Riley at the end of the show.

Thanksgiving 2010

This year's Thanksgiving was a special one. My family isn't able to get together with all four siblings very often but when we do we have alot of fun together and this year was a thanksgiving I will always remember because it was so fun being with my family. I know my girls had soo much fun getting to spend time with Corbin and Megan's kids. There was very little fighting and they kept each other busy the whole time. The adults I think did a lot of relaxing and enjoying each other's company, and the food wasn't bad either.

Jenna loved being pushed around in the storage bin and Jadyn spent most of the time they were at my house playing with her as well as did Jorrin.

Everyone helping out to get my mom's yummy homemade stuffing ready.

This is what it's all about. Just being together.

Me and Megan peel a mean potato.

Jantzyn playing with happy little Asa.

Jaicelyn also playing with Asa. The girls loved having a baby around again. Especially a baby boy.

Terry wrestling Jaicelyn and Ian. I think they won.

Everyone (except Austin, Marriane, and Jenna. She was still sleeping, but they did make it down before all the food was gone), ready to eat our Thanksgiving feast.

The adults waiting off their food so they could eat some yummy pie. Also again this is my favorite part of this holiday...just chilling with the fam.

Since we don't get to see them very often, I had to get a picture of Corbin and his cute family. We love you guys and miss you. Your welcome to come back and stay anytime.

Some of the kids before everyone had to go their separate ways. Until the next Thanksgiving we are all together I will have the wonderful memories of Cowley thanksgiving 2010.
